Project Tips EVERY Data Analyst Must Know In 2024
A data analytics portfolio of projects is one of the best ways to get hired for a data analyst job. Projects also can be used to interview for jobs in place of work experience. But what is a project and portfolio and why do you need one? I talk about the steps to create a data analyst project including actionable tips and the technical skills needed for projects which include SQL, Excel, a BI Visualization tool, and Python.

📄 ABOUT ME:
My mission is to help you grow your career, especially in the world of data analysis. Switching careers to become a data analyst from a non-tech background was overwhelming. I made a lot of mistakes and wasted time trying to figure it out. But having been a manager of data analytics and now a senior business intelligence engineer at Amazon, I've learned a lot and I'm excited to use my experiences to help you navigate your career path. I hope this channel gives you the clarity and motivation to get started!

great video. thanks.
Well done thank you
I find your videos really helpful, thankyou for educating us. Can you suggest some good already built projects that we can refer as a fresher to build our own?
Great video. I'm still learning and applying. I was guilty of making pre-school, level visualizations thinking it showed my skills. I like the what topic, what data, what did I learn model. I don't feel I can solve an actual business problem from a kaggle data set. I definitely prefer to share what learned instead. I try to document not only the sql i use, but what issues I ran into like typos and column names that didn't work, or column names with spaces. I felt it was insightful to admit what issues I ran into and what research i did to get around it. Thanks for being supportive, helpful, and guiding out journey. I'm trying to change jobs from remote help desk because it's a dead end job. I struggle with focusing on an industry for data analytics, because if I get hired, I really don't care where it is.

The visuals don't have to be fancy but should support the problem you are solving. I'm glad the framework helps! And yes I think as long as you have a project that is practical and you solve it using data, you're fine. Keeping an open mind with the industry is a good idea as it opens up more opportunities to get your foot in the door!
Hi Agatha, thank you for this helpful video. I'm trying to build my portfolio. I would like to know how yours look like, just wanted to make as guide. Thank you.
Thanks agatha❤
Hi Agatha, Thanks for continuing to share helpful information. How would I present/ showcase a Power BI report I created as a portfolio project? I'm not sure how to share work I create with Power BI.
Your skin looks incredible.. That color top with your skin complexion is elite

Hi Ashraf! Thank you and so glad the videos are helping!! ❤
Question did you know what industry you wanted to work in? If so how did you come to the conclusion to the industry that you lived to do or have you worked in many industries so you have a bigger portfolio or a more diverse portfolio?

Hi agus! thank so much 😃
Hi, can you pls share the CV template you used in your video ?
Mam, any good KZread channel to learn python for data science?
Is this only for new people without experience? I've personally never needed this. The company usually gives you a task to solve and present anyway before hiring you.

Yes a portfolio is used in place of work experience. If you have work experience then you may not need one. It helps people showcase their data skills to land their first data job.
Is there opportunity in data analysis? I just don't want to waste more my time. I have a CS degree struggling to get a job. 😢

Just start learning, work on standard projects and build a good portfolio. At least six months into learning with good projects and start applying. Also, volunteer and intern for free if possible to gain more experience And you are good, I am not a CS and with no background in tech but now a data analyst
