You know a good April fools? Other groups being able to go to other sekais and meet that sekais representative vocaloids. For example, WXS could go to empty sekai, L/N at stage sekai, MMJ at Street Sekai.. N25 at wonderland sekai,, VBS would go to School sekai. Just imagine all of the groups meeting with all of the other sekais vocaloids

7:35 i feel like the reason bug went with the hospital theme was cuz of mafuyu's original intention of becoming a nurse (hence she's a nurse in her card) but her mother shut her down wishing she instead become a doctor, and since the bug event shows mafuyu's slowly defying her mother wishes (skiping the exam) maybe that's why the set is her with her original goal but still feeling stuck? idk

I agree! I also thought it was partially BECAUSE of the exam being a plot point, as her exams are something that is stressed to be “important to her future” by her mother, ie important to her potential career as a doctor

Hii Shiho fan here! I understand completely how she can seem very dislikeable sometimes, and I will admit that it's true. But I think the main reason why she seems like such an asshole to the others sometimes is because of her priorities conflicting w the others, especially Saki. She wants to go pro and knows its extremely hard to do that, so she pushes her friends to keep practicing. Saki, on the other hand, just wants to go w the flow and do things she wasnt able to when she was bound to her hospital bed. I dont really think shes a bad person per se, but she does bring down the mood and can sometimes be outright rude (like what you said in the video) with her insisting her friends to practice n stuff... Please correct me if Im wrong! I haven't read any stories that arent out on EN, and its been a while since I last played so I may have made some mistakes or said things that are completely untrue😭😭

Even though in the surface she seems rude and mean to her friends, once you dive deeper you’ll see that she is actually very caring about everyone. She especially cares about Saki and her health, like when saki passed out or was pushing herself, shiho immediately wanted to call an ambulance and made sure that she was getting enough rest. Even if it may seem like it at first, shiho doesn’t get annoyed or angry by her friends (specifically saki) and just plays along with her “shenanigans”.

shes so me in that way 😭😭 it might be better explained in jp version, but i don’t know. the way i see it is her taking her passions seriously and getting upset when others don’t share the same drive that she does. i totally get it because i do the same thing- i get really into doing something (e.g starting a band), other people show interest, but they aren’t completely prepared for the whole task WHICH MAKES SENSE!! because i have a habit of taking things FAR too seriously when it really should be something that is fun. i might be projecting a lil but that’s what i see in her, based on my own experience. um this is super rambly i hope it made sensw

This is like a full summary of the stick to your faith event.. I’m so sorry for how much I wrote Yeah, I see Shiho’s ambition (as does Shiho) as a cage they lock themselves into, blocking everyone else in or out until the task is ultimately till exhaustion. This is shown well in the Stick to your Faith event, in which an elementary Shiho (10 yrs old) is writing “difficult characters,” choosing 響, and tries to get it perfect, which the teacher says it’s really good, in which Shiho combats it with the kanji’s faults, opting to ask the teacher after class to turn it in on Friday. During break time on Friday, they choose to stay after school to perfect it because “I’m not satisfied with it at all,” forgetting about a birthday party of a classmate (in which attendance was promised), and Shiho states they can’t because they have other things to do, which hurts the classmate. Shiho realizes that they hurt their classmates, and leaves school especially sad. Later, when Shiho meets Sumire (bassist of lolite) and gets taught how to a bit on bass. Shiho gets too wrapped up in their own bubble trying to perfect it that they couldn’t hear anything but the bass, realizing after Sumire commented on how focused they were. Shiho stops playing after realizing how focused they get on a task, how absorbed they get, and Sumire doesn’t pressure them but still asks why they stopped. Shiho tells her about how they hurt their classmates by not going to the birthday party, and Sumire tells Shiho about how she did the same thing with doing lives instead of arranging flowers like she wanted to because her mom did it, but she felt bad that she unintentionally made her mom upset when she got so absorbed in her own tasks, she ends up telling Shiho that you need to continue doing what you love no matter what. Shiho watches the band’s performance and bass solo, realizing how much it made them excited, promising that they’ll do the same thing. They come to L/N and say about how they thought about that, “I found that, by shaking up people’s hearts, I could also give them strength. ; I had struggled over this in the past. In fact, I wasn’t sure whether it was okay for me to prioritize my own feelings of wanting to do something, even if it meant hurting those around me or not. However, I had watched lolite’s performance a while back…and from the depths of my heart, I felt that the sight of someone sticking to something uncompromisable to them was really cool. And so, I too…wanted to be able to put on a performance like that.” I see the reasons for Shiho’s behavior, I love how it’s fleshed upon, but I still *really* want to see a full “apology” or true reason for the main story, a reflection and true development with changing some perceived things within the group n Shiho also more adventure stories per Saki. I see how this group is based on nostalgia, yet the moving forwards part I feel should be more emphasized, at least from what I see. In the Stick to your Faith story, it’s mostly just speaking about reminiscing on the past to understand what they want for their music, but using that as a diving board for new plot lines in the same event story would be awesome. I just want things to change with stronger character development (totally not giving Shiichan Saki’s silly nickname back because !!) (Cough if any of my wishes have already come true pls correct me)

Emphasis on the boys outfits needing more variety especially since I feel that the team has already missed out on a few cards that could have been great outfits for the boys (example:Tsukasa's goofy monster fit). Also this might sound controversial but I also wouldn't mind if the boys had access to the girl's clothes and viceversa. That April's fools event with Mizuki and the genderbend versions sounds super fun, I hope we are able to get something similar in the future!

7:24 What I realized from this is Minori and Haruka are more reserved sticking to the people they already know. Most of Minori’s interactions with other groups happen completely by chance (other than kohane). For example, in the sports event, Minori met Kanade because she saw her fall on the floor and decided to help her.

"Become doctors" = mafuyu is still struggling against her mom's expectation of her getting straight-As and becoming a doctor "Candy" = American Aesthetic, soecifically the candy side(ig? America is definitely there tho)

i think with the cards, the untrained is the only thing connecting it to the actual the event story, especially in group events the trained cards are more in line with the themes/metaphors/aesthetics of the song but yeah i agree i wish that there was more overlap between the untrained and trained

Thank you for pointing this out, I feel like Tsukasa deserves way more interaction with the leaders, the gender bend versions for April fools would be hilarious, I would die seeing Toya as a girl. And also the thing with least favorite characters, everyone has their own opinions, I like Shiho a lot and I think it‘s completly find if she is your least favorite, I couldn‘t even really decide, at the beginning I could easily pick a least favorite (I actually hated Airi at first) but everyone grew on me so much and I don‘t want anyone to change, everyone is unique ❤️

Everyone in project sekai is so likeable somehow imo. I struggle with a least favorite.

ignoring the HEINOUS opinion about shiho (jk), this video was actually so fun and i have been DYING for a genderswap concept with mizuki reacting! it would be SO GOOD IMO. SO GOOD.

I'd love if they increased the full combo rewards "oh! You fc'ed dont fight the music, here, 50 gems" I think they can change the rewards depending of the difficulty, add 50 gems to the reward for each number from 20 onwards

I think as far as JP is concerned though, Tsukasa has at least interacted with Kanade, even if they're not part of the same event lineup. So far, Kohane/Kanade's the only leader pairing that has never made any meaningful interactions at all outside of seeing each other during the What Lies Behind/Ahead event and not talking to each other at all, and that was literally the ONLY time they saw each other..

tsukasa recently got a kizuna rank with minori and kohane despite barely knowing them just because tsuaksa was behind on kizuna ranks- because they don't let this kid make new friends 😭

JP event spoilers for the Engeki/Theatre Mafuyu focus event watching this made me think of a whole N25 arc idea maybe centered on Ena where someone (maybe a fan of her Insta or something, or just a random interner user) recognizes her art used in the N25 vids and decides to doxx the whole group. Could really lead to a lot of things such as having Mizuki be forced to reveal their secret, Mafuyu's location getting revealed, leading to more Mafumom stuff, or, this may be a bit of a stretch, having someone recognize the name Yoisaki and hire Kanade as a replacement for her dad (considering the current situation of Mafuyu living with Kanade for the moment makes them need some money). It's a decent change of pace over Ena having Yet Another Art Block and elaborate on Ena's priorities as an artist. Could also add a new side character too (doxxer live2d)

Complete WxS Stan here. I’m glad someone finally pointed out how left out Tsukasa is! I adore Emu, but Tsukasa is the leader. He’s the whole reason the troupe starts in the first place. He’s always the lead role. He isn’t my favorite character, that goes to Rui, but it feels like he gets the least screen time out of everyone. Even in WxS events, unless it’s a Tsukasa event he just is barely there. Don’t get me started on most of the WxS events being Emu, Nene, or Emu+Nene events. The boys deserve some love too! Rui pops up a lot in shared events, but that’s about it. The boys seriously need more love when it comes to Key Story Events

Hi:D Leo/need fan here! I agree that the story of LN is going a bit too slow, which bugs me a lot 😭 shiho is actually my second favorite (favorite is saki)! Shiho is the kind of character that you might find relatable somehow, but to others it seems weird. it seems like shiho isn’t wanting to back away from them, she’s trying her best but she feels insecure which makes her “panic”? When she’s talking. Then words that she doesn’t want to say come out of her mouth which makes her avoid them more because she feels like she’s accidentally hurting them Good video!

I’ve always hated how much focus emu gets in wxs stories and events, don’t get me wrong I love her and I love wxs (they’re my favourite group) but even the world hasn’t even started yet focuses on her with the 3dmv AND the line distribution even tho she’s NOT THE LEADER and the song is literally about Tsukasa because it’s HIS SEKAI???? Like ik in the main story he says about wanting the song to belong to all of them but it doesn’t change the fact it was made from HIS feelings and HIS ALONE. And speaking of the wonderland sekai I find it so weird that out of all the sekais it seems the most insignificant??? Like they got all their virtual singers before anyone else and half of them appeared in MIXED EVENTS that wxs ARENT THE FOCUS OF??? Like using the wonderland sekai as a plot point in events were maybe tsukasas feelings effect the sekai plus the virtual singers and the other members finding out stuff about him that way, seems like a really cool concept but it literally isn’t utilised EVER. Like why does Mafuyus sekai get to be important and explicitly personal to her to the point were the virtual singers literally represent aspects of herself but Tsukasa who is literally the only other sekai owner not get ANY of that? Like there’s so many interesting and weird things about the wonderland sekai that are never built upon which frustrates me because it’s my personal favourite and I feel like there’s a lot of potential that Sega just completely ignores in favor of focusing on other things. Moving on from that tangent I also hard agree that tsukasa feels super disconnected from the rest of the cast and especially the leaders, like I can think of so many fun dynamics between him and other characters that just aren’t in the game and I don’t understand why. Like the rest of the leaders get to bond together while Tsukasa is completely forgetten. For example Minori and kohane are classmates and mean alot to eachother, Kanade and ichika have had multiple mixed events together and become such good friends that Kanade literally is a major role in ichikas third unit focus and all of them have had multiple mixed events featuring eachother where they all get to bond such as, Singing among the cherry blossoms, Time to hang out, The warmth of intersecting melodies, SpoJoy park, Welcome to the wolf forest, Echo my melody, Memories carried by the scent of candles, and STEP by STEP Which is FAR TO MANY considering Tsukasa has ZERO! I can count on one hand the amount of important interactions he’s had with the other leaders, which is NOT A GOOD THING!!! And stepping away from the leaders for a minute considering he’s has TWO MIXED LIM FOCUSES you’d think he’d interact with more people right? But most of the mixed events he appears in have the same cast of characters EVERY TIME whether he’s a card or not it’s ALWAYS toya, an, mizuki and Akito he literally barely interacts with people outside of kamiyama which is just splendid considering none of the other leaders attend kamiyama😐 and when he does interact outside of his usual circle it’s always with another wxs character, I saw a chart on twitter for every mixed event in 2023 so far because atleast one wxs member has been featured in each of them and out of ALL of them he only appears in TWO EVENTS in which both occasions he’s paired alongside Rui which is just BAFFLING to me, Tsukasa is portrayed and a very loud and extroverted person yet he barely interacts with anyone outside of his established group???? Like??? That is such a crime PLEASE LET HIM HAVE MORE FRIENDS🙏🙏🙏 Anyway I’ve talked long enough I’ll probably come back if I can think about other things that bother me and I’ll write a million paragraphs again it’s just Tsukasa is my favourite character (obviously) and I wish Sega appreciated him more and let him out of the basement because my boy deserves it!!! I really wish that one of the virtual singers would represent something like the lonliness and sadness he felt when he was growing up. Or at least trying to hide it or something like tsukasa does. Or the wonderland sekai having a hidden darker part because of what i said previously. And i definitely agree with the whole mixed event thing. It’s ALWAYS rui (maybe another wxs character) or someone from his school. Why doesn’t he have any connections through saki? Why keep using emu as an excuse for him to interact with characters at miya girls when he has A DAMN SISTER THAT GOES THERE.

This is a REALLY unpopular opinion, but I think Leo/need events are the most interesting because they are so focused on their music. They really get to work and show on the fine details of being in a small ensemble without doing too much playing around, and as a chamber music player, that's what I value: hard work and focus.

Specifically for some of the card sets… the card set about doctors is probably supposed to tie in to Mafuyu’s mother wanting Mafuyu to be a doctor, especially with how the event is a Mafuyu focus about her relationship with her mother. The one with Wonderlands x Showtime and candy has really vibrant colors and is moreso supposed to emphasize that feeling of wild imagination that is Emu’s specialty. I’m pretty sure the MMJ mail delivery set is meant to relate to how More More Jump works to deliver smiles to everyone through their streams and now their in-person events. There are definitely layers to some of the card sets, and I think for a lot of them it’s actually fine that they might not link directly back to what happens in the event. April Fool’s ideas? I’m totally up for them. I would be up for the one with the background characters, actually; they already have voice actors, why not give them a chance to cover some songs? Genderbending, though… yeah no, you’d have to get a completely new set of VAs for all 19 of the non-Mizuki characters. Would be fun, though.

personally i like how slow the l/n story is. it really shows not only how dedicated to their music they are, but also shows this is something very difficult to achieve and something they are even struggling with. as for the shiho point, i do understand where you are coming from, but i think shiho struggles with what to say and can't express herself very well which is why she comes off as rude (in fact i think that's canon but it's been a while since i read the l/n main story). what she says isn't what she means and because of it especially in the main story she pushes people away because she's scared of hurting them even more only to ironically do that by pushing them away. personally i dont think she's being a toxic friend, though i can see why you would think that. in the stage of sekai story she burdened herself by selling tickets alone so the others wouldn't feel burdened and she also makes sure saki doesnt push herself too much as well. these are just two examples of shiho trying to be a good friend. she's not a perfect friend, but she is trying and i personally think that's more relatable and realistic. of course, you are free to still dislike shiho, but that's my personal take on her character also the genderbend april fools idea is such a good idea

I've always wanted to hear the side characters sing like... they already have voice actors and many of them are stated in-game to be incredible (especially VBS ones like RADder or Arata) (please I want to hear RAD WEEKEND so bad) and as someone who definitely thinks about certain side characters (Kotaro) more than almost half of the main cast I just really really want to hear them 😭 We did get Taiga in that one event and while I cannot take the caucasian song seriously it does kinda prive that it might be possible to get other side characters singing in the future. I kinda hope that if they do ever add new characters, they'll add side characters instrad of creating new groups. I would go insane over a Kotaro card. (he is very precious to me)

I totally understand your point about Shiho, and honestly, I was like that too at first before [somehow] she became my favorite over Saki [who WAS my fav]. I think the biggest issue is the fact that it's a big combination of factors, it was like blind for me because I didn't know a lot about her at first but just settling and understanding her perspective somewhat makes me enjoy her. I acknowledge how Shiho can be perceived as unlikeable because of how she pushes people away and how rude she can be [which I understand people don't like her personality sometimes] and that's a factor you can use to dislike her. But if you ask me, judging her purely off the fact that she wants to go pro and serious about her band is a slight bit unfair. The main thing is that Shiho didn't experience what Saki did, either party can try to understand one other but they never will experience the exact thing. While Saki was in the hospital, Shiho [well not moved on] had a goal, created and had the foundation of an idea of what she wanted to do in life. The friend group fell apart and she can't wait forever for them as unfortunate as that is. When Saki came back, she more so focused on living the life she missed which is totally valid. But expecting your old childhood friend who's got a goal in mind and to spend a good portion of her time with you for something that probably takes her a lot of work is also expected to not work. Shiho is thinking of things Saki is not, and Saki is thinking of things Shiho is not. I don't think one is selfish nor one is childish for choosing one side of a thing or wanting a certain thing. It's just a matter of entertaining both sides views, although Saki's is easier since it's inherently more empathic in nature. EDIT: almost forgot about this point but Of L/N being very stuck on like them being a legit thing and a music group I see it more of a "what advantages does everyone have to get their goal" MMJ is the easiest example, yes being Idols are hard but you literally have Minori who trained her childhood wanting this and 3 whole fledged idols who have experience in the industry WxS has Emu which is really big if you think about it, while yes, that's one person and it doesn't make up for everyone else, the fact that they HAVE a stage to perform on in a popular area already boosts their chances enough N-25 is a bit more different due to how online music works, it's a matter of the internet and that makes it complex, but you've seen how easily songs can blow up especially online in a niche community VBS is not exactly too different from L/N if you ask me, while yes, VBS is more successful they both hold their fair amount of failures over their performance events if you ask me, plus Kohane gets professionally "trained" [although untraditonally], Toya has a background in music already, and An was raised on Vivid street I don't understand what being in a band means but if you ask me, L/N is more akin and realistic to what professional music groups might have to go through from the scrap

i think the mafuyu thing (and i suppose for the other unita as well) is just bc this arc was centered around HER. which makes sense! the next arc is going to focus on someone else, and again, that makes sense. just bc someone is the leader of a group, it doesn't mean they have to take ALL of the spotlight. mafuyu had a huge impact on MS, and her issue with her mother was something that affected niigo as a whole, of course they are going to talk about it a lot, since it was (is) an on going problem so yeah, this was just to say "they might get more attention, but it does make sense with the way they're narrating the story"

Honestly, I agree! Especially with the Tsukasa one! Also, I really like you're content, in fact, I want to do a magical girl play-through of Pokemon Scarlet based off of your magical girl playthroughs of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Red :D.

First, for my starter, I’m choosing Sprigatito since Meowscarada definetely gives the most magical girl vibes (a lot of magical girls are witches, saint tail is a magician magical girl, and Meowscarada does look a lot like the Bad End Pretty Cure, which are evil corrupted versions of the main magical girls from Smile Pretty Cure). I also plan to use Arbovliva, Tsareena (Bousweet and Steenee were used in twiins’ run of Sword), Florges, and Tinkaton!

As a Shiho fan, I find her character very refreshing. Along with characters like Ena, Akito, Mafuyu, and Airi, she is not a "super nice all the time perfect person" kind of character. She has clear flaws, and I respect that. She definitely made mistakes with leaving her friends, and I believe the game acknowldges that. She was in middle school, 11-13 is a great age to screw up (I know I did lol). As someone who has clear goals and puts my head over my heart, I understand her stubborn attitude for going pro. I also think she cares a lot about Saki. She clearly is logic over emotions, and when her friends agreed to be serious, she expects them too. It's clear she does truly care about her friends, but I think she can show them better. I completely understand why you don't like her, she's a character that has traits not everyone likes.

Honestly some of the Shiho comments brought a lot to my attention I didn't think too deeply about myself. I love her so much - but essentially only where I relate a lot to her aha - I hope that in the future they explore the idea that they can have a work/play balance with leo/need instead of just practising all the time. By proxy I also hope that leo/need actually gets to progress forward as a group - playing at a big concert venue maybe - and when that happens they can finally focus more on the three girls just doing silly stuff every now and then! (I'm dying for a cute sleepover event) You'd think for a group of childhood friends connecting they'd have... more events just connecting aside from their music. Their love for astrology for example. Overall a nice video and I love your april fools idea of the NPCs covering songs!

8:26 Tsukasa and Minori actually were able to meet and interact all the way back in the Scramble Fan Festival Event. In my personal opinion, their quickly established relationship is even the main focus of this event. But I do agree with your point that the good lad often feels left out and as an avid MinoKasa shipper I can only wait for the next time the writers let them even be in the same place, let alone talk

as for now i agree with everything, except one thing. i don’t agree with ena take. okay 1st event was mostly about her being upset over someone undermining her art, but 2nd focus? it’s about ena wanting mizuki to open up, there’s nothing (or almost) about art related things, and her 3rd focus is about her lack of creativity? (idk how to name it properly) she just wanted to draw something fitting to niigo songs but couldn’t and wanted to help yourself by attending art class where she got some kind of trauma? and ofc she was upset about teacher saying her drawings are bad because it was in her past and she was a different person with different mindset, at the end of the event she agrees she need to practice a lot but it’s just hard to admit it. so it isn’t ONLY about her being mad over some guy saying her drawings are bad, it’s just some kind of foothold to her being scared of attending the class ever again. I didn’t catch up with her last focus so I can’t really tell anything about it. if that sounded rude i’m sorry I didn’t mean that and i just wanted to share a piece of my mind😭

Great video! Honestly, I agreed with most of the points on this video. With Ena and Airi as my favorite characters, I would love to see them sing and dance together in a song! And the idea of a genderbend for April Fools sounds really fun! I’ve actually felt similarly towards Ena’s focus events. I wished they’d cover other topics, such as her unstable emotional control. I’ve actually thought about it before, and I think I know why her focus events are so art focused. Her first event is about her giving up on art and falling into despair, with the rest of Nightcord reminding her that they’re always there for her, which revives her passion for art and she continues on with more determination than ever. Her second event is a continuation of that reignited passion, with her facing what she once ran away from with the hard art class that used to make her feel discouraged. I’m not sure what happens in the third event, but it seems that Ena’s focus events seem to follow a plot line, which is Ena trying to overcome her insecurities and struggling to reach her dreams of becoming a professional artist despite all the hurdles in her way. Assuming that the plot line has somewhat come to an end, I do believe that her future events will be less art focused and be about other factors of her character. Although, that might just be me wanting the Ena events to be more diverse. And for the Tsukasa and Emu point, while I can’t agree or disagree because I don’t know much about Wonderlands x Showtime, I can say with my own hot take that I’ve felt the same way about Nightcord. Kanade doesn’t really feel like the leader of Nightcord, as opposed to characters like Minori feeling like the heart of MORE MORE JUMP!. All the focus seems to be towards Mafuyu. I understand that she is very integral to the story, she made the Empty SEKAI, after all; along with Kanade’s story being about “saving” others, which includes Mafuyu. Yet, the game seems to put so much attention on Mafuyu and her story than Kanade’s, that it feels like Mafuyu is the leader. Especially since Mafuyu seems to embody Nightcord’s themes the most. Especially with the recent JP events feeling like back-to-back Mafuyu focused events disguised as Kanade and Mizuki focus events (but I understand that, considering that the plot line of those events need to be back-to-back, and can’t reasonably be separated without it feeling awkward). Those are my two cents! I had a lot of fun learning more about other people’s opinions on the game.

Shiho was my favorite character when I first started playing but I kinda get not liking her- not really for the reasons you mentioned but she just didn't get a lot of substantial character development after her first couple events (twilight parade and resonate with you). I think her story was less about dropping her friends if they didn't go pro with her and more about her learning to rely on people other than herself and trust her friends, which is what I really liked about her in the beginning. Since then she hasn't really had as much interesting development within the group, but her relationship with her classmates and with her sister has been a really cool way to see her develop. (since then my favs have been ichika and minori :3)

First off, I just want to say, I really enjoyed this video and your other Project Sekai videos. Honestly, I feel like I agree with most of your takes. Especially the mixed group one; I know the producers have stated that they save the mixed songs for special events, but I do think they could do it a bit more often and with more variety than just "the 'leaders'" or "the siblings." Granted, I also think they should make more male/female duets that aren't limited to alternate vocals or archives (since those rarely do the full song), so there's also that to consider. You know, I did have a problem with Nene being the WxS member to be included with Ichika, Minori, Kohane, and Kanade, but I wasn't aware of Tsukasa getting shafted in the interactions department (if only because the event that sticks in my mind the most at the moment is the one that confirms that he and Shizuku are borderline-childhood friends). And really, it almost feels like they're afraid to give Minori and Haruka significant interactions with the boys, which they shouldn't.

What I like about Leo/need being behind is that none of the characters are naturally gifted or quite as skilled (For example, Kohane is talented and Minori is skilled) in their field. Sure, Shiho is probably the most experienced and the best player, but they are also trying to go pro as a band with no connections and are building up from the ground. Sure, they were in a band together when they were younger, but the only one that had continued practicing all this time was Shiho (that I recall) Emu already is the daughter of the owner of PXL, and already had a stage there. She found people that were already talented and that just focused more on teamwork and personal issues An is the daughter of Ken, and Toya and Akito were already in a group themselves and had been preforming. Kohane was the only one who actually needed to improve, but again, she was already a good singer despite not even trying to build her voice up over the years. The main issue with Kohane in the main story is her stage fright. I haven't read any of the key stories for VBS so I don't know where else their story goes, but nonetheless, they go to live houses, An already has a reputation, etc. More More Jump consists of three formerly famous idols, and Minori, who has been working to become an idol her whole life. Of course they'd gain a following much easier. I don't really need to explain much here. They're already previously successful idols Nightcord has already been established for quite some time when we are introduced to them, so they've already gained quite the following. They're an online group shrouded in mystery, and we're not actually sure how many followers they have, but they're not trying to become a professional band, they're just posting music online, which requires no prior connections. It does help that Kanade is insanely talented and that her father was a musician so she had access to music all her life. She has been composing for years. Leo/need feels like it's more based in reality. It's a group of childhood friends becoming a band. Yes, they preform on stages or at live houses, but they don't have connections in their field like An does, being Ken's daughter. She already has a reputation of her own as well, considering she's been preforming for years. Every group has someone that has been in some sort of spotlight for years EXCEPT Leo/need and I think that's where this issue of their slowness stems from. And although Shiho is related to Shizuku, they're in completely separate fields. There's also the fact that Shiho won't even consider letting them preform live until they get good enough to, so there's a lot of staggering in the plotline for that. They are behind, but it's realistic for them to be Also off topic but am I the only one that thinks An should have been the VBS leader? She's the only person of the main stories to have herself as an opening instead of the literal leader. I thought she was the leader for the longest time

I think Akito or An should've been the leader/protagonist of VBS, given their experience with Rad Weekend (personally, I prefer the former, since he feels more like the type of protag I've come to expect from shounen manga/anime, while the latter feels like the "more privileged rival"). I feel like, due to her essentially just being an audience surrogate, Kohane is the weakest the main 5 as a "leader/protagonist", in the sense that her personal story feels the least connected with the goal of her group, if that makes sense. Admittedly, I'm also a bit biased against her due to not being a huge fan of (what I perceive to be) her archetype, at least as a protagonist.

As someone who has never ever read a story chapter, (I'm here just for the polished gaming), it helps a lot that you gave context to a lot of your plot gripes.

I guess I’ll share my sekai hot takes. The unit “leaders” are not leaders of their group, they are game mascots. Their status as “leader” is more important to the context of marketing for the game than it is for narrative purposes. IMO the strongest narrative relevance for the leaders is that the main story leans more towards their POV to introduce you to the group. I see ppl argue who is more deserving of group “leader”, and these conversations always seem to miss the actual point to the term in the first place, which is having identifiable mascots for each group and in turn for the game. The dynamics of the units don’t have to hinge on the leader being leader-like and the other members shouldn’t have to be limited to terms the community arbitrarily makes up rules for. Also side hot take that’s more of a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, An could’ve been the VBS group leader but Kohane was chosen over her since An’s design resembled Ichika too closely to have them standing side by side as mascots (cool girl with long, bluish-black hair who is associated with a shade of blue). I don’t believe this particular take too seriously but I think about it sometimes.

This was very fun to watch! A lot of the time, I see very bold opinions about this game without barely any reason (they usually don't read the story), so it was pretty refreshing to hear yours. I agree with a lot of your points! I also find it weird how Tsukasa barely interacts with any of the leaders, ever. In the cherry blossom event, although I love the other leaders interactions, all Tsukasa does is bump into Kanade and leave. And it would be fine, since Kanade barely got any screentime that event too, if they spent other events strengthening his bond with the other leaders, which Kanade got (such as spojoy, valentines 2023, christmas 2021, practically any event with ichika). It felt more like they added him there because "Oh, we need all the leaders in an event together!" And never really thought about what relevance he'd have. And you're right, it's scarily easy to get him to interact w/ the other leaders, so I'm not sure why they haven't done it yet?? I'm hoping when a new group comes out their leader will interact with Tsukasa more (It'd also help if they were male). As of now, all the other leaders just think of him as 'that eccentric guy', which is kinda sad to see considering how fleshed out their friendships are. As for Shiho, I agree with you on some points like her pushing herself away from her friends with no real good reason (it could've been anxiety or something along those lines), but there are some points I'd definitely disagree with. Shiho's hard on her friends because she puts the same expectations on them that she puts on herself, and she knows they can reach her level, even though she's more experienced. But it's shown throughout the story that the more they improve the more lenient Shiho is with doing other things outside of bandwork. Shiho's also made it apparent that she doesn't want anyone in Leo/need to overwork themselves (especially with Saki). She can come off as brash at times because her criticisms can be very harsh, but she's trying to get Leo/need to improve as fast as they can, which is just sort of the mindset she has. I also have to disagree with her 'guilt tripping' her friends into becoming pro. Being in a professional band had been Shiho's dream for a long time, she never tried holding her friends accountable for not being top notch, it was more of her being so dedicated to her goal, she was willing to split paths with her friends for it. Ichika, Honami, & Saki decided on their own that they wanted to become pro with Shiho. It's your opinion if you think she was selfish for pursuing her own goal while already in a band, but Shiho shows a lot of care for Leo/need's abilities & health once they do become a pro band together.

The Pop In My Heart cards were connected to the story imo. They went on a trip to the US, so the cards were American carnival/theme park themed (the red white and blue outfits, the donuts, and the big lollipops)

I heavily agree on Shiho. Don’t get me wrong she is a great character and I’ve read stories on jp and she does get a lot better. But especially in early event. Especially in Saki’s 1st focus event where she really wants to go to a planetarium of whatever it’s called. But Shiho says she needs to work extra harder to be able to go. So what does Saki do? She does because she really wanted to be able to have this experience with her friends since this was still when she still probably around months out of the hospital. Saki ends up falling sick because of that. Which Shiho sees and thinks it could’ve been all her fault. Like yes it was! Saki is still wanting to experience things from coming out of the hospital but also be in a band with her friends! But you decide to tell her she needs to put in more work knowing that she could easily fall ill. And saki is the type who would overworks herself. Like yes I know Shiho does take some responsibility and she does watch out and care for Saki, but like it could’ve been all avoided if you just didn’t! I’m sorry for going on this rant. It’s just I’m rewatching event stories and that just bugged me so much when that happened

huge saki fan here! gotta say i disagree. as much as i love her, saki overworking herself isn't shiho's (or any of the other members!) responsibility or fault; yes, they know she tends to overdo it. but i remember correctly, they always, really try to remind her not to! shiho is hard on her, yes. but tbh i don't think that's a bad thing? she's pushing her, not bullying her for no reason. their trust rank is "tends to coddle", but shiho treating saki as capable of doing things is important imo. and in the event ur talking about, the stella event, i distinctly remember shiho offering to buy saki some (i think expensive?) ramen as soon as saki said she'd work harder in. if im misremembering that then L, but i distinctly remember going "awwww wait she does care!" at something shiho did. plus, and this is just me, it takes a lot of saki's own character away if we blamed shiho/ other characters for her actions. saki is a very determined girl! determined enough that she tends to overwork herself. but also, determined enough to stay with the band and go pro, to improve at her composing, to do the best for the sake of their band. like u said, shiho as a character does improve! but imo she was never cruel, at least not in the stella event.

Thats when ichika couldve stepped in and saved the day Ichika wasnt afraid of akito on the scramble festival (1st anniversary) the moment when akito made nene and minori scared ichika didnt even got scared and just said he is a little scary 😂 Idk if ichika was here when shiho told saki to practice more but if she was she shouldve told her that it wasnt okay at all

I think it would be cool if at some point one of the friendships (or siblings) realize that their friend has a sekai and then they get crossover covers together and then it creats a domino effect and then we get crossover covers. I know it wouldn’t make sense or anything but it does frustrate me how none of the siblings, especially shizuku and tsukasa, don’t realize that their sibling is just… gone for hours on end. Or in the wolf forest event when kohane runs with rin coming out of an’s phone, nobody managed to see that or hear rin’s voice talking somehow in the hallways that were supposedly very crowded. Sega would probably never actually do this but i don’t care i want to see it anyways and i WILL make these scenarios in my head if i need to

OKAY HI!! I saw this a little while back and I wanted to try and explain some of the stuff, and my personal thoughts. Starting with, of course, Mizuki and Ena. I 100% agree with you there, but unfortunately-- as we're still finishing up mafuyu (I swear no more fufu focus in other character focus PLEASE), it's probably going to be extended to Mizuki's fifth or sixth focus event. I can't see this being done in a cross unit event or a focus outside of Mizuki's, and we still need that fourth Ena focus to finally start building up the truth. (this was just me having a personal theory.) Note for the next one because it's related:: I so agree with you. There's a lot of uncharted area about Ena's character, but her inner conflict with art is (probably) over with her third focus, or will be wrapped up in her fourth. I can only hope. If it extends, I really hope they can start looking at Ena's inner turmoil, and she can figure out what part of her process needs to change so she can finally see that improvement, maybe explore why other peoples opinions matter so much? Hell! Her obsession with the internet and likes can cover a story by now. Now it's finally time for Leo/Need. Ever since I saw this back in sept I've been WAITING to talk about why Leo/Need had only just signed a contract and become pro after a year. So, let me explain. Let's start with the known fact that everyone else is already ahead, and why. More More Jump is a group of three well known idols, and one rookie. It's only fair that older viewers who were big fans in their old career would switch over (especially if they look at anything and everything involving said idol, like Minori does.) Vivid Bad Squad is its own case. An and Akito have been in the street scene for awhile, let alone the fact that An's father is a LEGEND. Kohane's raw talent and Toya's experience with general music both are factors as well. Wonderlands x Showtime is pretty similar to VBS too, when it comes to why they're already established. Emu's dad owns the park, which is already really popular. Enough Said. Nightcord is the part where you might say 'oh but this unit is like Leo/Need, but they're still so popular!'. Nightcord was already a full group for about a year pre-main story, and Kanade had some recognition before the group's establishment already. Leo/Need's group had just formed by the last episode, and like many musicians, were not popular. It's actually really realistic! I'm related to someone who is in the general music scene myself, and although he is someone with relative recognition, it still took awhile. The girls are amateurs, so they're also probably underestimated as such because of their age and newer presence. In reality, they ARE stuck. In their own way, of course, and it's set up to be the main problem for them in the story. Not being able to get anywhere because of that is tough, and all too familiar for many people who are/have new musicians/channels. I think that'll change though, but I'm not JP and I only look at N25 JP stories so I wouldn't know (Yet L/N is still one of my favorites lolol) Gacha wise, some of these make sense. See: BUG. At first glance, it makes absolutely no sense. But looking at it from Mafuyu's side, it fits. Her pressure from her parents to be a doctor is still looming over during that park visit, and all because she is not studying. The girls as doctors from that sense feels right, it fits. That's the only thing I have to say for that, I don't feel like making any more connections 💀 Another short one, this time about Tsukasa. Unit cross events wise? 100% agree. However, Tsukasa although the leader & creator of Sekai, his status AS leader doesn't matter as much. Because He's in a troupe, everyone matters. The only times unit leaders actually matter is in Leo/Need (Ichika being lead singer) and a little bit of Nightcord (Kanade being the first member, and creator.) They do need to go somewhere with Tsukasa, but the recent focus gave him justice, and his character actually has a lot of tidbits and facts if you know where to look. OKAY IM DONE HAHA!! I have no hot takes about characters I hate.. I hate no one :3. But your own perspective is fresh, so thanks for sharing! Also I could be wrong about all of these just my own like ideas lol

About the npcs thing, i agree. I think it would also be cool if they added "easter eggs"-kinda thing in their designs. For example, idk, making an npc design that looks kinda like Otomachi Una, Vflower, GUMI, etc. I mean, there are already songs with them (even if they aren't part of the virtual singers as a whole) so it would be cool to notice a npc-Kai yuuki or a little GUMI walking around the maps. I know this will prob never happen but still lol

honestly? i dont exactly agree with how u described shiho but the main reason why i like shiho so much is how flawed she is. it makes her feel so much more real as a teen just going through those inevitable issues of friends and family as she grows. it also makes her development so much better too, her recent events reflecting on how far shes come with her interactions with leo/need and shizuku, etc. i used to dislike shiho as well in the past before reading the stories, so i desperately beg anyone who has the time to rn to read her stories and leo/needs in general

I'll preface this by saying I'm a newer player and the last L/N focus event I got up to was Resonating With You but what you said about Shiho struck me too when playing the story. It just felt like because the other three friends were so desperate not to lose Shiho and let their group fall apart again, they had to throw themselves into the commitment of "going pro" and I honestly thought that shouldn't have had to be the case for them. It's been a while since I've played and I can admit that going over the stories from the start as well as reading the rest of them would do me good but I just wanted you to know that you weren't alone on that take, it rubbed off on me in that way too.

EXTREMELY hot take: I wish that some songs could just not have vocaloids I know, I know, Pjsekai is a game centered around vocaloids but there are times where I find that some covers sound bad when there’s a vocaloid singing (sometimes because of their bad tuning) But even in songs where the vocaloid sounds fine, I can’t help but want to hear the characters singing by themselves

this but for a diff reason: i think that a lot of times the vocaloid kind of bogs down the meaning? specifically for the duets; like the AkiToya cover of Aunnobeats is amazing and great because just the two of them singing allows the emotion to resonate. A lot of duets that feel like they should have an emotional impact just don't because they shoved a vocaloid in there. the first example that comes to mind is Blue Paint (hinomori sister cup noodle comm). that song is more serious than the other two sibling comms, and really feels like it should just be the two of them, but Miku is. also there. I think most proseka songs should have vocaloids at least a little bit, but there are a few duets that should have stayed duets and not tried to include vocaloids.

just starting the video and i already agree on your first take. i love the eve version of gunjo sanka but i feel like i can't appreciate the sekai version as much due to getting hit with it every single time i go to the song selection. and yeah we need more multi-unit songs, even if it's just covers because if racing into the night (which.. hot take of my own but that song really isn't good enough to deserve special treatment like that, it's really just Okay imo, granted i've never been able to get into yoasobi's music in general) can get it, surely others can too.

People get way to heated about their headcanons with this game 😅 I kinda wush we could mismatch different pants, tops and shoes. It'd fix sone samesy outfits? Ik itd be alot if texturing work tho😅 Also love seeing sekai oc's✨ can't wait to check yours out✨

it would definitley be something extra but i do agree that it would be nice to have mini customizable npcs! i also agreed on a lot of things in this video and especially on the boys outfits T-T it feels like they didnt get as much thought put into their outfits as a girls, let alone have the same amount of clothes.. i also think the april fools ideas could be pretty funny and as a shiho fan i understand why she can be dislikeable. and in defense of leo need struggling to get their music out quicker then everyone else, they are a band so they themselves are playing the music live, in comparison to the other units where they just have to sing for the most part. this is especially easy for more more jump since 3/4 of the group are already well known popular idols. i am in a band myself and its hard work. me and my band have to practice a lot like leo need too. each unit does their music differently and has different types of music and leoneed has one of the hardest ways of doing music. i do agree that i want them to speed it up though! i agree with a lot of this video honestly!

I also have Shiho as my least favourite character, she’s a horrible friend, she’s rude, she’s mean to her sister, like.. yea. I agree, least favourite too.

Hot take here! Leo/need isn’t the problem. The rest of the groups are. Now, MMJ I can excuse because three of them are proffessionals and we do devote a lot of their screentime to them practicing and going into the technical side of things. But WxS? Come on?? How are these characters so physically fit? We never see them endurance training, or writing songs, or composing dance routines. So who is doing it? The fact that they can put on full-fledged theater preformances with a troupe of only four people is ridiculously unrealistic. Who designs the costumes? Paints the sets? Writes the scripts? Choreographs? What about extras and background characters? Lighting and sound? VBS has some issues with it too, like, you’re telling me An and Akito can just write full-fledged songs and come up with dance routines all on their own? How do they have time for that? Like until the latest EN event I genuinely thought VBS only did. covers because that’s just what makes sense to me, especially with how divided they are as a group. But An and Akito are apparently professional song-lyric writers and it was NEVER mentioned in the span of a year? While it’s less unrealistic, it just feels hard to believe. As for Nightcord, well I don’t think the technicality is all that poorly explained, what feels strange to me is how instantly successful they are. It’s not easy to gain a following on social media, even MMJ struggles and they have previous fans so where is niigos huge fanbase coming from? Wouldn’t it be so interesting to see Ena’s struggle for recognition branch out into the whole group, and for them to all be frustrated with the lack of reach? For Nightcord to actually struggle to be heard, and to have to deal with the challenge of running Discord servers, socials, living anynomously on the internet, and dealing with the online algorithms? And of course the dances they do are not plausible without a shit ton of training, but I guess you’d argue it’s some kind of SEKAI magic or it doesn’t actually happen in canon, just in MVS. TLDR; Leo/need and MMJ do a great job of portraying the artistic struggles of a budding music group, and I wish the other groups showed more of it (especially WxS dear lord they make putting on theater productions seem so easy)

Hot take : characters that cant play instruments are unskilled npcs 😂 I agree with most of that it seem a little like anime where they dont explain things in details and dont show us or tell how things are behind the scene In real life its much harder to reproduce what they do that even real pro artists cant do it by themselves and those are adults

While I agree that WxS makes theater productions seem unrealistically easy, they actually have mentioned a lot of things you listed if you actually read the event and side stories. It's said that they usually do 2 hours of warm-ups and training before they actually start practice, and in phoenix event they also participated in flexibility, endurance, and strength training etc (forgot the details but they ran like 10km and did 300 squats lol, nene died). For the costume designs, I don't think it's necessary to be mentioned as you can easily read between the lines-- one of Tsukasa's hobbies is costume-making, and Mizuki also made Rui and Nene's initial costumes. WxS also has a whole ass company backing them, so yeah. As for the scripts, I think it also has been mentioned that Tsukasa is mainly the one who writes them, while Rui does the basic choreography, then all four develop it together. Idk about the extras, but they have utilized the virtual singers in their show once (plus Rui could easily just make robots for that), and it's pretty common in theater for a person to play two or more roles. Lighting and sound is definitely Rui's job tho since he's the director (he's been shown taking care of those technical stuff multiple times). But most of all, they're all overachieving workaholic losers who put A LOT of effort into their shows (especially early on, where they had to put like 5 shows a day to gain an audience). Also, I don't think common sense really applies to WxS since they're literally described as a group of eccentrics lol. Emu has always been crazy athletic from the start, Nene's singing has been acknowledged by a world-famous songstress, Rui is a genius director, and Tsukasa is uhh. He tries /affectionately. BUT in a card story he's able to learn an entire dance choreo perfectly in under 5 minutes, and lots of professionals also praised his acting skills, so he's def talented. Furthermore, they're all characters who already have years of theater experience from the get-go; Emu obviously trying to keep Wonder Stage alive, Nene joining a theater group during middle school and being talented enough to get the lead role, Rui doing unauthorized shows everywhere, and Tsukasa making shows for Saki (plus his part-time jobs). Tho I agree with you on the song-writing part since Tsukasa's so far the only one confirmed to be able to play an instrument(?). But I think that's just a game thing and the songs aren't actually canon bc only a few of them sound musical-like anyway LOL (SORRY IF I SOUND AGGRESSIVE BTW i meant this in a lighthearted way but ended up rambling bc im both a theater AND wxs nerd lmao

The thing I liked the most about the event where Ena teaches honami how to draw is that she got to not have a stick up her butt and interact with others positively while the event is still art focused. I wish we saw that more often. Also yeah shiho isn’t written great sometimes. I like her because of the personality I imagine she has in my head more than because of how she’s actually written.

this was supposed to be short but i ended up rambling my bad. 1. agreed! i also find annoying how i'll accidentally click a team section and get inmediately gunjou sanka'd. it's kinda repetitive 2. i'd honestly kill for a haruka-an-minori-kohane song. they'd sound so super good! also i made an entire essay about a potential mafukasa cover for boku wa kuuki ga yomenai by cosmo- OH ICHIKA AND KANADE SHOULD SING TOGETHER... BUT... 3. NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT BUT IT'D BE SO CUTE... there are so many games that take place in shibuya, it'd be cute to make npcs resembling characters from those games... the shibuya extended universe (? 4. AGREED TIMES HUNDRED, they do feel very samey... even back when there were only two 4* that gave you clothes, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to have different clothes, but no... i recently got carnation mafuyu and i realized that the most different dress (hers) didn't get an outfit, while luka and kanade's are really similar- 5. yeah, it's up to the point i buy outfits for the boys to up a rank instead of because i like the outfit on The Guy 6. i feel like they're kind of avoiding the thing? because i think it's widely accepted that mizuki is transfem (one of my hot takes is that i don't like enseka using they/them for mizuki because realistically you'd use she/her, at least to their face) but canon refuses to outright confirm this, and i'm afraid they'll instead go "oh, mizuki's actually an otokonoko lol!" which. i mean. they got them singing villain of all things. *villain.* but still- 7. SO IT WASN'T JUST ME? I'M GLAD. i lovelovelovelovelooooved insatiable pale color, it was so nice seeing kanade reassuring ena, i really felt her struggle and rooted for her... but the nomad event felt very samey, even with all the class things and introducing futaba... like i love ena but her (main? haven't read rainbow canvas yet, she was not the focus but i really liked the shinonome focus) events are kind of eh. 8. i feel like first we'd need more two people covers, and there aren't many, sadly. besides the ones you've said, the only that pop into my mind are fixer, king and running into the night (which is still chara+vocaloid but still) 9. YEAH... i feel like they work better when they're implemented into events, like tsukasa+saki's flashbacks on the doll festival event or mizuki+rui's on the first kamiyama fes. tricologe, city, and now i tie the ribbon events are one of my least favorites, they were so. boring. 10. i feel like leo/need events are either REALLY, REALLY GOOD or boring as all hell. i love the characters, but the events feel like a drag sometimes. 11. i think it's fun! though the themes do give me whiplash sometimes, yeah 12. I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR FOREVER. tsukasa and kanade specially because they KEEP BUMPING INTO EACH OTHER but never actually meet. i love the leader squad they're so fun but... i don't know if you know this since you said you don't really know what's going on on jpseka, but recently (for the third anni) the leaders had a focus, and i was happy, because AT LEAST they'd interact, right? i mean, tsukasa got a 4*! must mean something-! nope. it's just a general view or their new school year. cool. minori+tsukasa and kohane+tsukasa got a kizuna/trust right before the event started and it felt so undeserved. ALSO AGREED ON NENE, the first anni event was more about her than it was tsukasa. he wasn't even in the 4koma or the after-event convos. it was nene. it's always nene. why. i also feel like we don't know anything about the guy? he's so secretive! his sekai is so secretive! everything we know about his past is extremely sad, but canon keeps refusing to acknowledge it! he's also barely on mixed events unless he's the focus, which 🤔why did he get the pinocchio-p comm. why is tondemo wonders so concerning. why does he parallel mafuyu so much. it's *mafuyu.* also the tondemo wonders event was more of an emu focus than it was tsukasa's, and he kept being excluded from nene's events... what's with the constant tsukasa exclusion? 13. I THOUGHT ABOUT GENDERBENDING TOO... but in my version mizuki would act as if everything is normal lmao. ALSO AGREED ON THE NPCS i love sakurako i'd love to have her as a main chara, even for a day fejrhbgehr -n25 april fools is kanade's dad bursting out of the hospital to finally end mafuyu's mom- 14. i haven't really thought about that! shiho is one of my least main characters, to be honest, but i do like her friendship with kohane and minori, it doesn't feel like she's holding it hostage lmao one hot take i have is that kanade is at her best *away* from mafuyu. i feel like she acts as a satellite for her, it's kind of concerning. her second and third focus stopped her storyline with her dad (WHICH HAS BEEN ON A CLIFFHANGER EVER SINCE CARNATION RECOLLECTION, YOU KNOW, TWO YEARS AGO) to focus on mafuyu's issues. samsa, her third song, is even about how she's going to protect mafuyu. and i get it, kanade is really selfless, she wants mafuyu to smile above anything else, mafuyu is a priority because of her mom and samsa is a banger, I KNOW, but it's giving a weird message. minori had to come and be like "i'm sure your friends would want you to smile! at least i do!" for kanade to go "wait that is a thing huh? also are niigo my friends i'm not really sure-" which is????? kanade. makes me worried where her character will go due to current status quo, but i'll always have spojoy. that's... reassuring?

I SO agree with your last point!!! Kanade is my 2nd favorite character and she REALLY needs to start taking care of herself, both physically and mentally (which is why my love for Homani grew; shes really helping her) and I feel like Mafuyu is kinda.. idk the right words. We need more focused events of Kanade that are ACTUALLY about Kanade and not her trying to help Mafuyu 😭 I get it, she's selfless and puts others' needs before her own, but sheesh

I feel like project sekai suffers the same issue as show by rock when it comes to Tsukasa not interacting with the other leaders as for show by rock I feel like the guy and girl bands rarely interact sometimes

I love that throughout the entire video you don’t actually mention useless stuff that most “ hot takes “ include , like how “ rare pairs “ should be noticed for , or just anything that’s already been stated in the entire fandom enough that it doesn’t need more recognition !! And I’m also glad that you didn’t just focus on one thing in general it was far spread throughout everything 11:07 agreeing massively with this , my reasons range from the fact that even when she can be kind she’s overly rude with it and she doesn’t show any love for her sister even if it’s mentioned in the stories from gachas and city interactions she seems like she would rather die than interact , and then again her character kind of bores me at times because throughout the entire game we’ve had massive plots of angst and shit BUT HER it makes it boring because again she has potential because even HER DAMN SISTER IS GETTING ANGST . Everyone but her has had a story fully based on their emotions ( I may be wrong here I don’t pay 100% attention to L/N ) but her , there might’ve been episodes of flashbacks where she ends up showing a bit of human emotion but then it’s back to being cold to everyone again . Again I might be wrong saying this because L/N is such a boring unit to me but heah Anyways I loved this video and I want a second part to it if possible

The Mizuki comment reminds me of something I read a while ago somewhere. And I'm gonna talk about this for a minute so uh, sorry that it's so long lol. Also will be talking about stuff that's happened on the JP server so like, don't read this if you don't want spoilers. TLDR with no spoilers: Time will tell but I think we're close to getting the fabled "secret" reveal. The rest of Nightcord have all moved on significantly since the end of the first "arc". Kanade has grown into a more well-rounded person. Physically is healthier, she has more friends outside of Nightcord, she's starting to feel joy from music again. Mafuyu has made the biggest strides, going as far as running away from home (and her mother). Ena has checked her ego and is rebuilding her art skills from the ground up. She is also starting to make more friends and be more sociable in general. Mizuki has been mentally stuck in that moment on the roof for 2 years. And if anything, they've only walked backwards. Putting up more walls and walking further away from the issue. Everything since the Hermit event has been flashbacks and sidestepping the issue for other things. This is at least partially a consequence of Nightcord's story having bigger fish to fry (not that Mafuyu gets "too much attention", her story is appropriately a large focus for the group considering she is the impetus for a lot of their plot). There's also the fact that Mizuki's storyline is a big one, as obvious by the fact that within the first year-ish of the games life they did a ton of work establishing what the secret is and what it means to them. It doesn't feel like the kind of story that can be neatly wrapped up in one event, so once they start focusing on it they kinda have to commit to carrying that plotline for a bit. The good news is that - on JP - it feels like we're winding up to bring Mizuki's arc back into the limelight. The "World Link" event (basically a second unit story that showed where the characters are currently at) made it seem that Mizuki's kinda getting near the end of their "avoid the issue entirely" rope. Kanade's development is in a really good place, and Mafuyu has pumped the breaks a bit since running away from home (I have my theories but in short, she's probably not gonna make a big step forward again until we get her next focus event). Ena - like you said - is kind of in a narrative loop. I think building further on her relationship with Mizuki would serve double duty on giving her a litle more to do, and is gonna be a priority when it comes to Mizuki's "coming out arc" as it were. Based on the teaser we got, there's vibes that the upcoming Ena event might be the start of the next "Mizuki-centric arc" if you wanna call it that.

Tinfoil hat time: I think the reason Mizuki's taken so long to tell Ena their secret is because Mafuyu needed to start to heal first. Ena and Mafuyu have gotten closer with that time Mafuyu had dinner at Ena's place. And everyone goes on about how Mafuyu's eyes stay open during ID smile, while the rest have their eyes closed. I think Mafuyu can either tell somehow or already knows about Mizuki's secret. And I bet she's going to be a major factor in helping Mizuki open up and start to heal, like how Mafuyu's friends have done for her. But that's just a theory!

Functionally for the flow of the story it makes sense for things to play out this way and within the universe it's going to be better and more satisfying in the end than if they'd rushed Mizuki out of the closet before 3rd anni or smth. Also - as a fun extra nugget- IIRC it's been implied that Mafuyu (along with Kanade) are at least close to the truth already. Mafuyu's seen through Mizuki's chipper facade since day 1 (though that can be read a lot of different ways, I choose to believe she might already know), and Kanade has picked up on differences while working with the group's vocals. There's a non-zero chance Ena is literally the only one out of the loop, and I just think that's funny

I really agree with the point of allowing mizuki to tell ena her secret or developing into further progress of trying to tell ena.

I didnt realize that the boys literally have almost no T-shirt outfits or short sleeves 😮 Shiho is my favorite voice of L/N but she did make me angry in the main story. She reminds of my Yukina from bang dream which is ironic considering her VA is lisa fron the same group 🤷🏼‍♀️ but eveb yukina relaxed after awhile

Oh my gosh they are so good! Ena and Mizuki are my least favorites because I kinda feel like they're less interesting than their old ones. But not bad by any means, 10s across the board. Vivid Bad Squad had the best glow-ups. An wins first place in that regard, for me

Although Shiho seems like a character that doesn’t care too much for her friends and family her problem is she cares a ton which drives her to want to set boundaries she feels as if Shizuku is in her space while she does deeply care for her and her ideals are different to that of her band mates. Shiho wants to go pro and she wants to reach her dreams whilst she desperately knows that it’s hard for a rookie band like them so she wants to try and push her band mates a little so they can achieve that dream of course when her band mates do feel quite tired she makes sure they get the rest they need (Saki fainting and Shiho insists on calling an ambulance)

I definitely agree with the Tsukasa one. He’s my favourite character and deserves way more attention. I feel like they often forget he’s the leader and treat Emu more like it. I hope he gets more character in the future.

Shiho’s actually a really caring person if you read the events (especially later ones), tbh. Love the video, but I don’t agree that Shiho is a toxic friend in the slightest. For one, her reason for pushing away the others wasn’t because she THOUGHT that they would bullied, Ichika was literally getting bullied BECAUSE she was friends with Shiho. And yeah, Shiho was considering leaving the band if they didn’t wanna go pro, it’s a dream that she’s had her whole life, but she tried quite hard to keep the others from following that path if it’s just for her, until Ichika pretty much had to make a speech about how that’s what they want. In the most recent mixed event on the JP server, her and the rest of l/n help Saki complete her to-do list, and iirc it’s even her idea to take pictures of Saki having fun without knowing because Saki’s photo album barely had any photos about herself…sorry for the essay, but I feel very strongly about the fact that L/N cares SO much about each other lol.
