The problem for me is that while my inner fashion obsessed girly is eating up the new designs like if it's a gourmet meal, my inner writer hates it. Mizuki's, like you mentioned in the video, no longer really fits them as a character but instead it seems more like they're going along with the group. MMJ's new design is more visually appealing but why are they all blue? Why are their own individual colors so much more subtle? I preferred how the old ones were clearly the same design but you could immediately tell the color difference. Emu's design feels less chaotic which isn't a bad thing in general but when you look at her character, the less chaotic outfit seems so forced. I can't complain at all about VBS and L/N. The school theme for L/N is much better and they're matching more without losing their individuality like MMJ. VBS's designs are more representing of their character while still keeping the "street" aesthetic of the group. They also didn't get rid of Akito's double sweater so round of applause for them 👏👏👏 In my opinion, which btw, I don't play JP so idk if it's already in the game, they should have their old designs available as costumes in the mv settings or smth

I also don't play on the JP server, so I can't say for sure. But I bet we can still put them in the OG outfits for 3D MVs, but the Live2D animated versions of them will probably be limited to the new designs

one thing no one pays attention to, but i think funai was EXTREMELY nice to kaiji when they met. the info he gave kaiji is easily worth more than the two stars kaiji paid for it. - There are repeaters playing the game. - There are "legal" ways to game the system, and thus, this is a game of wits, not luck. - People form teams and that's not illegal. - Stars can be sold and bought. - He taught a great method to get rid of unwanted cards - He also taught a really effective way to cheat people out of stars. - And of course, even before they talked, Funai helped kaiji by getting the full 10 mil in in front of kaiji and making his snap out of his loser mentality. Kaiji could have never known any of that on his own, and if instead of crying like a beach, he learned the lessons Funai kindly imparted on him, he could have left that ship with 6 or more stars EASILY since he got a 10 mil warchest. he could just go around offering 1 or 2 mil for stars from people who took the floor amount of money and had extra stars, and scam others the way funai scammed him. then at the end sell those stars 5 times as expensively. heck he could even bribe people into helping him cheat and all that crap. To be fair, this is like the 6th time i watch this anime and this is the first time i see this from this angle so can't blame kaiji for not seeing it the first time around either.

Also, the scene in which ruby shows her progress feels off to me. She goes on to fight without weapon in volumes 7 and 9, but in the vol 5 finale vs mercury it feels so inorganic and rehersed. Like mercury kicks her weapons out and says "oh no, what are you gonna do now?" As if mercury knows ruby's weakness. Then she does the attack she learned from Oscar. Mercury is stunned, and the camera stays on ruby as she slowly picks up the weapon. The pacing, the dialogue, the camera, everything in the show seems to be the writers going like "YOU SEE, SHE FIXED THE FLAW, DID YOU MISS IT? I WILL REPEAT, HER FLAW IS NOW NOT A PROBLEM" like we are 4 year olds. It's so self congratulatory for the most basic progress that feels like a videogame quest.

I noticed recently but in IDSmile (idk if it was in the old one but its in the 3rd anni onward one) there are mirrors that throughout the entire mv will only focus on Mizukis outfit not their face or any other part of them - which evident in stories and the animated episode is the thing that Mizuki is often picked on for from their classmates (Hey Akiyama why do you dress like that? - N25 anime episode) showcasing that people around them only see whats on the surface (the clothes) rather then going deeper and learning more about Mizuki as a person (their face, body)

Now that I've played almost all the stories (I'm missing MMJ) I can say that N25 are well thought out. They see themselves more united, more open to expressing themselves, they lost the colors to have a range of grays that represents their union. In turn, the gray instead of black in their dresses symbolizes that they are freeing themselves from that dark burden that they carried individually. But that darkness still there, that's way they not use something white like Miku, they are still growing up, need to learn more, but now as a real team of friends Oh well. That's my current interpretation.

As a KAITO fan, his new outfit is so disappointing and ugly to me 🥲 even just adding the darker color like you did is way better, but its so shapeless. He looked like a ringleader with his last outfit which I loved!! also I’d like to point out that Tsukasa having the cape on his shoulder mirrors how KAITO’s og outfit had it. Honestly makes sense that Tsukasa’s would get something inspired by KAITO since he looks at him for guidance :)/is his assigned vocaloid.

"Bandage panties" is the funniest thing I have heard about RWBY. The fact tat Cinder's stealth and tournament outfits leave her neck exposed just tells me that her bland Cinderella backstory was probably thrown together last minute instead of planned out from the earlier volumes. Lastly, I had no idea that Robyn was supposed to allude to Robin Hood, despite her name being Robyn Hill, and stealing from the Atlas military elite to give back to the poor citizens in Mantle. Just goes to show that a character's design is crucial in fairy tale allusions. Ruby had a bright red hood and fights wolves, Weiss' name literally means White Snow, Blake is an avid reader of books with animal like physical features. One of her first scenes in the show has her reading a book, and even blowing out a candelabra. Yang has long, bright yellow hair and gets into a fight with two massive bears in a forest. Right away, each of these characters had designs that made them stand out from a crowd and easy-to-spot allusions to their fairy tale inspirations. I suppose Robyn had that with stealing from the rich (Atlas) to give to the poor (Mantle), but why is she so snotty and condescending to our main cast when they're outsiders? Why is she running for political office? Robin Hood is kind, and shows no interest in becoming a politician. Combine that with the general behavior of most citizens in Atlas, and she just feels like another Atlas background character,

the whole white wave affected WxS the most for me. The entire point of WxS’s aesthetic is that their like colourful, fantasy/wonderland and stuff like that, so adding such a huge splash of white limits what colour they can have. The white works with Tsukasa, but it just doesn’t work as well with others. Especially with Kaito and Rui. The white sucks on them, especially Kaito

The show's main 8 being so segmented and tunneled is a vast disappointment, especially when supplemental material decides to show characters at their full potential. The other day, I realized that Ren, not Jaune, would have made for a more satisfying conversation when Pyrrha was talking about her destiny. With Ren's semblance able to calm her panic, and his past experiences able to empathize with her desire to be strong and protective, both characters could have been very fleshed out in that scene alone. But with RWBY suffocating us with pairs of teammates instead of focusing on a team, we missed out on that potential and so much more.

Oh my God, they are all worse than their first outfits. Well, except maybe An she looks much more mature, like a young woman, rather than a young teen just playing around. And Kaito looks alright too, but wow, did the team just not put ANY love or care into these ones? I get it, they want them all to be more grown up, but they lack any uniqueness to them. Rui just looks bland as heck now, Nene looks like she now belongs in a marching band rather than a theater troupe. TSUKASA MY BOY, HE HAS BEEN MURDERED. and it's not just the WonderxShow group either, Meiko has lost all her warm, almost maternal energy. Akito just looks like a regular dude now, like an NPC. Toya looks like your average pretty boy rich F boy. MMJ looks less like idols and more like models or actors. Leo/Need just looks like normal schoolgirl uniforms. They are all terrible. And that's not even talking about my angel Len. God, this is going to SUCK if this is a forced thing when the game next updates.

As someone whos never played the game and doesnt know anything about the characters, i was confused to see more more jump was not actually just a song made by mitchie M but a group of other anime girls. I dont like the new design for them at all tbh. The old dresses were so quirky and fun, but the new ones were all the same color of blue which messed with the two members who had blue hair, and iml there wasnt nearly enogh of their signatures accenting the dresses, i could barely see the orange in the orange girls dress because it was less saturated. I wish theyd kept it mostly the same, but differed the skirt lengths and added different socks and shoes to everyone to spice it up.

For me, the reason I began to check out of RWBY mentally was the poor balance between aura, semblance and magic. Like, what is the difference really??? Everyone was shocked when Penny took a truck crash head on and survived, well a tournament was going on of teens being blasted, thrown around and you know ... Doing all kinds of powerful crap related to their semblance and aura. How was Penny being okay from a truck crash so shocking???? Before the maidens were introduced semblances were cool and unquie to a character. But now it really does make you question what is so darn special about a maiden when others can do what they do and more? "A maiden can fly!" Okay. There are hover devices that allow people to do that. A fanus with wings can fly. Weiss can summon a giant bee to fly!! Really, flying is like the ONLY unquie aspect to a maiden which is a shame. Based off the story, I thought each maiden power was special and linked to their season. Winter freezing things, Fall burning (even though I thought it would be wind) and so on. But no. Each maiden can harness all of them. RWBY really needed to cut these story elements out or really limit sla semblance verses magic

Surprised there was no mention of Neo’s weird Eskimo hooker outfit. It looks more impractical than any other Atlas outfit (I assume Cinder keeps herself warm with fire magic) but like Ruby’s boob window its adding weird sex appeal to a character who seems to have 0 inclination towards that kind of thing. It really just feels like someone stuck her in it against her will to make her sexier.

Rui just looks bland as heck now, Nene looks like she now belongs in a marching band rather than a theater troupe. TSUKASA MY BOY, HE HAS BEEN MURDERED. and it's not just the WonderxShow group either, Meiko has lost all her warm, almost maternal energy. Akito just looks like a regular dude now, like an NPC. Toya looks like your average pretty boy rich F boy. MMJ looks less like idols and more like models or actors. Leo/Need just looks like normal schoolgirl uniforms. They are all terrible. And that's not even talking about my angel Len. God, this is going to SUCK if this is a forced thing when the game next updates.

As someone whos never played the game and doesnt know anything about the characters, i was confused to see more more jump was not actually just a song made by mitchie M but a group of other anime girls. I dont like the new design for them at all tbh. The old dresses were so quirky and fun, but the new ones were all the same color of blue which messed with the two members who had blue hair, and iml there wasnt nearly enogh of their signatures accenting the dresses, i could barely see the orange in the orange girls dress because it was less saturated. I wish theyd kept it mostly the same, but differed the skirt lengths and added different socks and shoes to everyone to spice it up.
For me, the reason I began to check out of RWBY mentally was the poor balance between aura, semblance and magic. Like, what is the difference really??? Everyone was shocked when Penny took a truck crash head on and survived, well a tournament was going on of teens being blasted, thrown around and you know ... Doing all kinds of powerful crap related to their semblance and aura. How was Penny being okay from a truck crash so shocking???? Before the maidens were introduced semblances were cool and unquie to a character. But now it really does make you question what is so darn special about a maiden when others can do what they do and more? "A maiden can fly!" Okay. There are hover devices that allow people to do that. A fanus with wings can fly. Weiss can summon a giant bee to fly!! Really, flying is like the ONLY unquie aspect to a maiden which is a shame. Based off the story, I thought each maiden power was special and linked to their season. Winter freezing things, Fall burning (even though I thought it would be wind) and so on. But no. Each maiden can harness all of them. RWBY really needed to cut these story elements out or really limit sla semblance verses magic

Surprised there was no mention of Neo’s weird Eskimo hooker outfit. It looks more impractical than any other Atlas outfit (I assume Cinder keeps herself warm with fire magic) but like Ruby’s boob window its adding weird sex appeal to a character who seems to have 0 inclination towards that kind of thing. It really just feels like someone stuck her in it against her will to make her sexier.
