That's a set up to be proud of. Foggy Rocky Mountain weather is what got me to put more marking lights on my truck; no excuse of, "I didn't see him there!"

We have a lot of swamp but the fog from that is usually patchy and not very thick. We also don't see a lot of big temp changes.

@@mossman381 You know down here in the valley we don't often get fog, either. It's up in the canyons and mountains that I meet it most often.

I made it back in 2009 or so. I remember the light boxes being a lot more expensive than I thought they would be. But when I got them they were nice and heavy duty. There is the tubing. Don't remember how much I used out of an 8' stick but I could probably go with thin wall to make it lighter. I ran all the wires through the rack so you don't see it. That took some time too. The lights can get as expensive as you want.

It turns on and off randomly. It's pretty faded now so just going to order a new set.

Something like this takes a good amount of time. Even those light boxes aren't cheap. To build another one I would have to get $600-700. I have so many other things that need to get done. Shipping is another issue. If you can't come to Wisconsin to pick it up, shipping could get expensive. Another issue is if you don't have a Silverado fitting could be a problem. We only have GM trucks.

This rack is pretty basic. The time is in the cutting angles, welding and grinding. It's to bad I didn't have KZread in my younger days when I had more time. I have so many things going on right now.

I made this way to heavy for what it is. If I was going to make them I would use thin wall tubing and the cross over could also be a lot smaller. It would still be super strong just a lot lighter. I have learned a lot since I built this rack.

im sold on these lights, does the middle light up as well? Or only the edges when brake is applied. Hard to tell

These are good quality lights and aren't cheap. The old saying you get what you pay for comes to mind. I sold this truck and rack but have these same lights on my new rack. I have some more for my trailer when I get time to install them.

I wonder if a back rack with lights is made to fit a Nissan Frontier

They have all kinds of universal back racks. I have never had a Nissan so not even sure if it's considered a full size or mid size truck. But you should be able to find something.
