Just got my first 2 maps today. I am new to PD2. hopefully i learn something! I got Higher runes easier than i thought also. Idk if ill ever go back to D2R or vanilla period.

lol, I literally was just watching this and when I went back to my game and opened a tomb in Halls of Vaught I got a Viz-Jun map The heavens have blessed me!!!

have the drops changed? im just now getting into maps with a lv85 WW pole barb with Obedience and ive cleared 3 maps so far but all the bosses ive killed have no dropped the same area map, i have found 3 maps my first run (all different and tier 2) and my second was viz which kicked my ass but i eventually cleared it all and found 2 maps all dropped by monsters but the bosses dropped no maps for me. my 3rd run i just ran a white tier 2 battlegrounds and found no maps what so ever so it was never replaced.

Thank you for sharing your video,I just start like 10 days ago, but I’m on single player, I didn’t know what those little charms are for, so your video is very helpful to me, just one question, do you know if you can upgrade runes on this version of Diablo?...like 2 puls make an um, 2x ups make a mal and so on, I play almost all versions of Diablo, I do like this one a lot, again thank you for posting.

No problem Roberto! Glad you get some value from it. Yes absolutely! Use a key + the runes in cube to upgrade them, conveniently removed the flawed gem requirements etc. Example: 2 um + a normal key in cube = mal. Hahaha, it’s mainly about having fun! I mean, generally maps trade reasonably, I sold I think 20 for Gul early ladder (mixed mods and tiers) but I think if you have high experience & density T3 maps they definitely sell to those pushing for 99.

idk if this is outdated or what but lookin for info on the different types of maps, theres definitely more than 1 type of tier 2 and tier 3 map, not all the tier 2 maps looks like river of blood/chaos sanctuary as the cow level map is tier 2. is there a comprehensive list of all the maps somewhere?

You are right robot - this was applicable to season 1 - if you guys are interested I can do the same for season 2!

I saw some vids where people have maps with the 'heroic' modoficator, do you know how to get that and what it does? Great vid!

Idk if it's my luck. I been using my Anya map but no maps drop even that. The traditional runs no maps too. I am not sure I am missing something or I am just shit luck. But with regards to mapping. It isn't happening for me 😢

i am a bit lost and cant find an exact answer. how do you get these maps do they drop from mobs?

Where to drop my first map?

Hi, can anyone confirm that maps drop in single player in season 3? Ive done a lot of the 2 travincal causeway 85 side areas but had no map drops at all.

Yes, somehow very similar! Notice the Tier 3 map boss is even called Belial Lord of Lies... Wonder where they got that inspiration. ;-)

Not sure if this was a change in the newest season or what, but you don't need to kill Baal on hell, you just need to be able to get to act 5 hell. Just opened my first map tonight and I haven't killed Baal on hell.

how rare are maps? I been doing chaos runs all day and can't find a single map?? lvl 86 does this mod work on single player? this whole experience has been basically d2 LOD with some new skills

In season 2 much rarer. When you do get one though the drop rate inside the map is much higher so you could sustain them if you kill them! Yes mod works on single player, and yes they wanted to respect the original experience as much as possible with balance changes and new content. It will come eventually :-)

btw Poison Necro and HolyBolt pali can do maps quiet fast

Thanks for your comment! You're right, poison necro can be ridiculously fast... Paladin, I personally feel like will always be limited by it's smaller spread of damage compared to the likes of a poison nova or multishot and I'm yet to see an impressively fast one, but i'm sure they exist!

I have little interest in playing og diablo 2. My question is; how much time do i gotta invest in a character before i can get to mapping? Follow up on that; how often do you do maps once your character is able to do them? 100% of the time? Half the time? Do I still have to do mindless pit and chaos runs?

what loot filter is this one?

Do you mean to farm them by running them or to farm and collect them to sell? If it’s to run them then absolutely!! My personal favourite map to farm actually due to my build being best suited to immunities there. So it’s obviously build and goal dependant... but in short, yes. :-)

@@RedStaggGaming I commented because I see quite a few comments of people saying that T1 do not drop consistent, high quality loot, and are therefore not worth the run. Personally, I see a lot of berserker/cathan/tancred drops, and low level uniques, and did not see a single HR from maps alone. What is your experience/opinion in that ?

@@axelros8504 I’ve pretty much exclusively got my good drops from T1 maps cause it’s what I run most... Ber, Lo, Ohms, deathwebs, Templar might etc the list goes on... It’s purely RNG, the monsters can drop it so as long as 1. Your killing things fast (which as mentioned before I do best on T1 maps when solo) and 2. You’re having fun on the journey, then the drops will come. If you are running a map with expectations of a rune or specific drop it will just be disappointing, it’s why my best advice is always pick something you enjoy. If you’re not having fun on the journey the grind feels awful. Anyway, I also get a lot (seriously loads) of cathans, Sigons etc too, and when your chasing good drops you take more notice of it I guess.. but it’s all RNG, and in my opinion as far as drops are concerned they are all the same. So pick your best and have fun.

You don't have to have beaten Baal to open a map. Not sure if that's how it was in PoD, but PD2 definitely does not have that requirement.

Hmm, I will need to double check then. 90% certain my friend could not go inside the map until it was completed, but could open it... thanks for the input though so I can correct myself!

New player to PD2, haven't played D2 at all in years. Just finished hell on my level 84 summon necro, figured I'd do a map. Open a level 75 rare map, thought this shouldn't be too bad, and got absolutely rekt... My clay golems that can tank anything on hell died like they were nothing. Made a new game and tried a white map level 68 and that was doable but clear speed is a bit slow. On single player as well so I imagine this is easier on bnet with other players..

Haha the first map is always the worst - as I said always better to try a white one before you go with the rares! It's pretty crazy indeed, what tier was it? It's definitely designed for more end game gear!

the BIGGESt Q where to farm map? I make CS cows and dont find even 1` map.....

I'm level 85. Been playing project Diablo 2 in hell for 15 levels at least. haven't seen a single map. Not 1. WTF?

im just getting recked... losing interest in game. lvl85 barb and getting killed by normal mobs

Ooooft, barbs are super item dependant bro. Why did you start that? adn whats your gear like? You shoudl avoid maps until you have better gear.

Yea I've had not much problem with my barb running solo. A few hiccups along the way where I've have to farm up the pit to get better gear but once I got that IK set it all became a breeze. If the other guy comes back, IK set with dual raven frost and whatever good amulet seems to do the trick. I have 1 socket in my maul from the socket quest with a perf skull for leeching but my next upgrade will be a 4-6 socket maul for even more power.

I can't even get these maps to drop in hell .. Kinda disappointed! I have scoured all areas and have not got one map drop... Level 89 Paladin..
