Under their laws women who have miscarriages would likely have to face invasive investigations about that miscarriage. I can easily see this as a sort of Salem Witch trials under which women would have to prove they are innocent. Could a neighbor call the police and say "this woman needs to be investigated ... she had a miscarriage. I heard it wasn't a natural miscarriage". I, too, had miscarriages. Two were past the 3rd month. Words can't describe how traumatic this is. Miscarriages are heartbreaking and difficult to heal from physically and emotionally. To think that a bunch of MEN who are writing policies that will decide I don't deserve healthcare or treatment that might save my reproductive health for the future or even decide that my life is less important than an unborn fetus that isn't viable or doesn't even have a heartbeat. To think that extremist Christians are blasting the very foundations of church and state. Do these men not have wives, sisters or daughters that they care about? These extremists have supported organizations not wanting to cover birth control under their employees health plans. I read The Handmaid's Tale in 1987 and at the time I didn't finish it the first time I started it. I remember thinking it was too dark and extreme and unrealistically dystopian. To think that just a few decades later she's proven to be an accurate and cautionary visionary is just frightening.

The Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity is so unhinged, I think we need to regard it as an act of judicial insurrection.

Quite frankly I don't think many people understand how dire this situation is. When the highest court in the land turns against its own citizens, in the name of autocracy, you are on the brink of revolution/civil war. I said that on July 1st. Donald and his cohorts are a clear and present danger to our nation and to the world. The new immunity that SCOTUS just gave presidents should cover President Biden doing what needs to be done to protect us.

There are NO Republican left up there on the Hill. They have retired or lost their seats. The party there is NOT the Republican Party, they don't WANT the Republican party and it IS the MAGA Party and Party of Trump. I KNOW what Republicans are or were and they were people who wanted good things for American and it's citizens. There were many statesmen in the GOP, they loved and respected the Constitution and our institutions and there is NO one like that on the Hill anymore.
