I've been considering such a wheel for fifty years, never figured out a workable solution for a tire. This is great, I've watched you do a bunch of things I've never thought of, and I have to say congratulations. Quite ingenious.

So awesome! I actually found this while trying to figure out how to get a tire for building a monowheel myself. I’m thinking this design could lend itself to an extremely efficient electric vehicle… huge diameter tire=low rolling resistance against road, also, the gyroscopic effect when accelerating/decelerating makes you need to gently accel/decel which is perfect for efficiency and battery regeneration… let me know what you think of my concept

I'd like to see an updated version of this- breaks (and parking break), proper stand, better steering method, and a little better weight distribution. I was impressed with this, but personally felt like it fell short after all the work that went into it. Seeing the foot on floor breaking and turning, I can't imagine that any kind of slope would be a viable risk in case the momentum of the vehicle just carried it forward while your leg was like that. I quite like the idea of this kind of thing, the monowheel, makes me think of General Grievous vehicle in Star Wars, but a lot of the actual makes of it miss out (what I would personally consider) important features.

I’ve been binging from new to old through this channel and was thinking “ohh I love how always has a key start on his gas rides, then it’s harder to steal” but then I realized it’s the easiest Hotwire in history

When I was a kid in the early 1950's , my dad and I were watching a program on TV about these "Bikes" ....He told me they were around when HE was a kid in the late 1920's ....so now , 65 years later , sure enough , I looked it up on YT and there are several videos from the 20's about these crazy bikes....the coolest one can go off road and the tire is about a foot wide and 7 feet tall!

Heh, I see why Agent J had so much trouble controlling his :P Awesome monowheel!

LOVE your editing, we got the basic idea without a lot of mind numbing detail. We don't have to listen to some guy ramble on who's in love with his project and is overly enthusiastic about explaining every step in the process. Love the bike, super cool, love the outro.

That looks like it is simply all kinds of awesome fun 🤩!

An updated version of this should have what I like to call "turn skates", where your foot rests are, allowing you to push your feet down and out without removing them from the guards, which in turn keep your toes and soles covered up and protected from damages. Some extra weight spreaders under the seat to take advantage of gravity and make it less likely for the harness to roll instead of the wheel wouldn't hurt either, as it would allow for some more oompf from the motor without rocking you like a motorized crib.

It seems like the only thing that these monowheels are missing are boots with a wheel on the sole of each (similar to a heelie) except placed differently; near the ball of the foot, and used for the start off and stopping in order to balance without fear of "tripping" yourself. I am interested in building one though and I love the design of the one you built. Good lookin.

Give you an idea of how old this idea (and I) is. Before TV, news, events and items of interest were shared to the world in movie theatres. These were called News Reels. At 3:50 that's a joke :D you can slow down the driving axel but the friction is too small to slow down the driven wheel ;) Practically there's NO BRAKE on that vehicle - only the driver's bare feet :D

I believe the one Mr Garrison made had slightly different controls and seating.

You can place a small screen in front of you connected to a camera in front of the wheel for better visibility and programming of the engine
