Monowheel Madness! Another Dave Southall Creation
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Another blast from the past and another crazy creation from Dave Southall.
This time around we head back to 2016 and our first meeting with Dave and his amazing monowheel!
To see more of Dave's work and see some of the steps he goes through on his builds, check out his website! redmaxmonowheel.co.uk/

And that is the very essence is Steampunk
Revisit this guy when he gets that other contraption finished!
"they've been goin"round for ages".....line of the year 👍
Great at parties! Astronauts are the best drivers.
Awesome! Dave was my university supervisor for my dissertation :D great to see this.
I can't wait to see Double Trouble!
Dennis the menace jumper Brilliant 🍷🍺👍
Watched some brave sole take their mono-wheel up the Prescott Hill at last year's Prescott Bike festival. Looks a fast and direct route to A&E.
I've always thought these things were cool as hell I really want one
That just shines and you have to wonder if he got the other one running , Stay Golden guys.
Absolutely top dollar upload. Fantastically entertaining. Keep up the great work, and stay safe!!!!!!
Fantástico...gratidão meu irmão pôr compartilhar!
Nice one Paul , Keep em coming mate
Ha! Why aren't people in my area this much fun?
great channel, thank you
sold me on it!
Thats Gold and the sort of thing i may bulid one day just for reference and research purposes. I have riden a monowheel before but it was a smaller wheel you sat on top of
Brilliant guy.
Another top vid:)
The wheelie tendency could be minimized by moving the drive wheel back, preferably right behind the seat back. As it is, the center of mass of the driver is "fulcrum opposite" of the structural mass. Thus, you get seesawing motion from any inertial change. Use a second drive wheel in front as well, and the nose diving will also be reduced.
Love it
Good entertainment great watch..
Crazy!😁
😃 Tumbling On Yer Bike👍
NIce work bro!! How do you build that solid tire? More power bro
Check out the one on "South Park", now that's imaginative!!
“It” from South Park - needs a small rear wheel for steering n Keeps from rotating
Nice 😄😄😄👍👍👍
Imagine riding one of these wearing a pair of roller skates for stability
I remember the IT! It was fast, but painful to drive
I'm surprised the tyre isn't fitted like a penny farthing, with a tensioned wire through the centre of it.
Best thing in MIB3 was one of these! They look great fun unfortunately I’m Not gentle and am clumsy so not sure that’s a good mix! 👍🏻😬
Just like in Steamboy.
The reason these things are so bad with analog controls is that there's usually a resonance in the angle control with a frequency in the ballpark of 1-2 Hz, ie pendulum swinging of the rider and working bits relative to wheel.
How does a Segway stay upright?
Hmm, maybe you could maybe have a lateral sliding weight on the steering wheel to affect the balance and thus turn
Just going for a quick spin .
I want one so bad
Mad and brilliant. He said they've been going round for years too!

Not what you would call practical. A rich man's toy.
😁👍
please add a leaning steering system like the one of Cislaghi/Govetosa's motoruota (5:15)
For when you absolutely, positively need to outrun a Jedi on a giant lizard after he cut your hands off.

Haha
Literally reinventing the wheel?
Am wondering if an electric drive system would be better or just use a Segway motor controller - simple
In San Francisco "gerbiling" has an entirely different meaning 🤣🤣🤣

Richard Gere can tell you all about that!
You need a stabilizer like training wheels.
South Park, Harrison Wheel
didn't mr garrison invent something similar?

A lot better than flying
Needs a wheelie bar.
No way of stopping quickly gulp
I'd put a small trailing wheel on it (like a true Penny-Farthing). Make the small trailing wheel fixed with the frame and the driver won't rock back and forth. Might still rock when you brake unless you use the small wheel itself for the braking. I know, I know, it sort of defeats the mono-wheel idea but it would be a much more practical machine and a lot easier to ride.

You might as well make one with 2 wheels the same size. That might be a big hit.
Called mono(one)wheel yet basically has 2 wheels 🤔 1st the driver wheel(yes a wheel) which basically run on its own "tracks" which is the 2nd wheel, the large wheel or the "main wheel".✌️
kzread.info/dash/bejne/eXpk1NOll8fHeLA.html You could use the handle bars to offset the weight of the engine or have a counter balance to aid with steering.
if you want to stop that diving backwords at start up move the drive wheel behind you as aposed to under you, like the two wheel tipe you are talking about, lets see that when done......
Must be hard talking to a guy who laughs uproariously at every sentnce.
General Grevious did it best
Yes!!! But also nope...
