Suffs is what gave us Donald Trump. Remember, it was Joe Biden's turn to run for President after being VP for 8 years. He had earned it. FAKE NEWS! Women were allowed to vote in some areas in the U.S. as early as 1776. No Black person could vote until the 1870's, nearly a decade after the Civil War. But it wasn't until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that Black had the legal right to vote all over the United States.

That reminds me of the Bernie Sanders supporters. Didn't they fail him three times? 1) By not voting in November of 2016 cause they were mad he didn't win the 2016 presidential nomination. 2) In 2020, when it was time to nominate the Democratic presidential nomination again, I heard that in several states (where Bernie campaigned) that when it was time vote there was a low voter turnout. 3) I can't forget the Democratic National Convention and the constant booing from the Bernie Sanders supporters in the background. And Oh yeah, when Bernie Sanders pleaded with his supporters to vote for Hillary because of the horrific consequences If Trump won (overturn of Roe vs. Wade, the Muslim Ban, and kids ripped from their parents at the border). The Bernie Sanders supporters booed Bernie himself.

This play sounds so interesting! What a fantastic story to tell. I only wish more people knew of the struggle women went through to gain equality citizenship for us all. It was not easy, and not people are so happy to give it away.

…and we’re one of the few Democratic countries that have never had a woman president. Figure that out.

Glad that the cast includes Black women, unfortunately that wasn't the reality back then. Those women didn't include women of color in their quest to gain the right to vote, because they thought their movement would be tanked. Perhaps they were right. Just goes to show how salient racism is in this country. But it's the only way that this play could have had forward movement and relevance, and that is to include who wasn't included before.

For some reason, 14th Amendment, Section 1 also did not give you the right to vote. You are correct that the 19th Amendment did not give you the right to vote as the states were violating Section 1 of the 14th Amendment. We wrote legislation to tell the states to pound sand, and unfortunately, the Supreme Court has told us as citizens that we should pound sand.
