Programming your mind for success | Carrie Green | TEDxManchester

Carrie Green started her first online business at the age of 20, whilst studying Law at the University of Birmingham. Within a few years she took the business global, selling throughout the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe and receiving over 100,000 hits on the website every month. In 2011 Carrie launched the Female Entrepreneur Association as a way to help inspire and connect female entrepreneurs from around the world. The network has grown to over 140,000 women and they now produce a digital magazine, This Girl Means Business, weekly videos, free online classes and more.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

It definetely can be an accident as well. Bo Derek never wanted to be a star nor did she know what she wanted, or what she was as a person - she was a young girl dragged into a movie and suddenly became an icon of a generation. Just one example. But it can work like you said as well.

Probably no one is gonna read these but anyway. So I was reading some comments and some people are just saying that she is only speaking about her business, that you only have to think positively or that life is short or whatever. In a certain way it is like 80% about that, however all the other stuff I would describe it as not instructional enough, why? Because is a ted talk, you won't have a lot time to explain a lot of stuff. Here is what I've noticed since I've being doing some research on accomplishing goals: -Knowing what you want in life, I've seen a lot in several videos that you have to write down your goals, and set a deadline, otherwise you'll just be thinking about something and not doing anything at all - Visualization: it's a mental tool to help you get where you wanna go, like litterally feel like you are there, picture all the details, (the unconsciousness doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's not, so if you already thinking about something, your unconsciousness will work hard to make that happen - Meditation: she said she had a lot of worries and uncertainty, one of the things that meditation does to your mind is to help you clearify all of those bad thinking and calm down your anxiety - Positive reforce thinking: Every time a negative thought comes to your mind, you have to "fight it back" with positive thinking, again cause of the unconsciousness thing. And that's so far what I can say imo. Thanks for reading ;)

I love how she emphasized the fact that not knowing how to do it didn't stop her for going for her goals She still worked hard for it and she planned it. She was very intentional and sure on what she wanted But she also allowed herself time to figure out how to do things. The what is more important than the how 'cause the how is more technical and you can come up with something as times goes by and you get to know more on the topic

The fact that what's going on upon your head has such a huge impact on the actions that you take, on the decision you make, and the things that you experience. And it's not just in silly situations like this when people miss out an amazing opportunities. People are missing out incredible opportunities all of the time.

It happened to me though I wasn't doing it on purpose and was unconscious. Even though I am a man I wanted to say thanks and wanted to point out a problem that you solved for entrepreneurs without voicing it. The challenge with entrepreneurs (men and woman) is their independence, the very heart and reason of why they chose to strike out on their own, is also the reason they feel stuck, lonely, and unable to make good decisions. When we work alone we lose perspective and have no other points of relativity because we play a game of mental ping pong game within our heads and unless you are extremely lucky, inspired or pure genius, you cannot progress because the same mind that is posing the problem is asking the other side for the solution. By having an association or networking group etc... you give the entrepreneurs, business people, independent contractors a platform and community to address the issues of isolation and loneliness that come with the territory of being an entrepreneur. Bravo and Thank You!
