I'm in the the third cycle of this process and have been patiently waiting for 20 minutes. I'm praying this works because if it does, I'm getting another key fob. Your instructions were much clearer than other people's. I will update when I am finished.

1st round was 10 mins, 2nd round was 10 mins, 3rd round blinked off and back on at 10 mins, I waited an additional 25 mins to be safe, light was still on when I took the key out. Then I waited 20 secs to put the key back in to check. Light stayed off and it started. I left the car running for a bit, then turned it off. I tested the buttons and they all worked. Thank you so much!!! It's alive! Just replaced the fob cuz the buttons all broke, transferred the old blade over.

This worked on my brother in laws 2014 chevy Cruze. Only problem is after the first cycle it said “theft attempted” so we had to restart and do it 3 more times. On the third cycle after 10 minutes it blinked off but came back on. So we let it sit for another 30 minutes (40 minutes total for the 3rd cycle) then took the key out and tried using the key. Key ended up working perfectly after that. Thanks so much!!! Took us 70 minutes total to program the new key!

This worked for my 2015 Malibu thank you very much I’m leaving a well deserved like and this comment, honestly I didn’t expect it to work and felt bad of buying the remote at O’Reillys because I just started working there and didn’t wanna return it but thanks to you it all worked thanks for the video

I have a 2019 Chevy Cruze, this did work with one additional step. First of all I started with a blank key also but I had mine cut at the dealership for around $6.00. I did the 3 steps she shows but I still had a "service theft deterrent system. The last step is to put your old key in and turn it to the run position " position b". Then your " service theft deterrent system" message will go away when using the new key.

Very cool, it's a great feeling when you can do things yourself.

Thank you so so much. Started out with the alarm on, switched out the old fob with my new fob and use my original key by taking out the pin. Went to the car unlock the door and the alarm sounded. Put the key in the ignition turned to "B" waited 10 1/2 minute. Turned it back to the original position "A". Waited for alarm to go off (it was loud). Turned the key to "B" waited 10 1/2 minutes again. Turned back to "A" then to "B" the "THEFT DETERRENT" signal went off. Started car and all buttons on FOB work!

I gotta Cruze. The previous owner had a genuine key purchase cut and programmed . Cost about $850 (AUD). I can purchase a after market skin for $15 or a full key/remote for less than $50. Don't know where you got proceedure from to reprogram, but it works. Great knowledge to learn. Thanks for the share👍💖

Another way you can do it is to start the car with the original key and then turn it off and put the new key in right behind it this was very helpful and full details

That worked for me for one fob, but not the other. Got this theft deterrent screen too. So I'm gonna try this method and see if it works. I'll report back!

I went to see your video because I got anti-lock mode on the screen trying to program a new control with the old key. I got scared and took out the key and put it in the old control. Now I saw your video and I will try it later. Thank you.

This helped me! Thank you. Third time, System Deterrent did not go off but I had already waited 40 mins just on 3rd cycle. So I winged it and turned key back to start, removed, and put back in. Boom! All squared away. Thank youuu

ty this helped and worked .i also only had my one broken key fob and no spare, just took out the pin and put it on a cheap fob ,,,, the warning didn't disappear on the third try after 40 minutes so i took the chance and it worked luckily lol, 17$ key fob on amazon with next day shipping and I got it done in one day lol tysm

Some folks say just put a good key in and turn to start and then off followed by the same with the new key. I tried that and it didn’t work but would allow me to start the car. Next retry it failed so I like her way the best!

I put the link in description for Key Vice. A small pin tool and a hammer might work if you have a way to hold the fob still...

Mine it did make the car turn on but it does not lock or unlock my 2011 chevy cruize with the control its all new battery

Hello, old post but very useful I hope you can help me with answer. I used the same same method you explained it programmed my new key only to start car but it's not locking or unlocking the car or opening trunk. I have original key frequency 315mhz and replacement key 433mhz does these two frequencies makes any difference? Please need help..

@@natestreif5013 That was a while ago but if you follow the instructions I actually programmed my key without any other key just with the car. There is a video on KZread that shows you how to do it and it actually worked for me.

I have a Cruze 2015 full, but the remote does not open the car, and I went to more than one mechanic who says that he does not know where the problem is, in addition to that the air conditioning of the car is very weak when the car is stationary or walking slowly, but it is strong when it is walking fast

Update: hahaha, my battery died so i have no clue if it worked or not. Walked away with a nasty headache and very sweaty.😢

I'm assuming you had a replacement key cut? If so then yes, it should work. I just needed a new remote but not key. That's why I did it this way.

Yes. I didn't get a new key cut. This is just the steps to program a new fob.

I tried that since yesterday,it's not working.what am I doing wrong? the security feature never goes off or blink

so my chevy is stuck in the anti theft lock, all of my FOB buttons are gone and have been gone for years. do i need a new key to get my car out of this lock?? the manual key works and i’ve never had this problem before, im losing my mind over this lock and i’m not sure what the actual problem is. i don’t want to invest in a new key if it isn’t the key itself. PLS HELP

This was done using one key and putting it into a new remote. I only had one key.

Hi Mari. I'm not sure what your asking? The security light is likely a reference to the anti theft message on the screen.

Went to Florida for 2 weeks car sat and lock light came on car locked up wouldn’t start. Along with that theft lock thing after doing your cycles my battery light thing came on and it won’t start when at first it wouldn’t start and it would lock up but now just won’t start. I’m gonna get a jump well see

The best way to do this to your “crap” car is to pay a pro to do the job right. This is just a cheap and inexpensive way of doing things.

All it did was drain the battery
