The fob died on my 2014 cruze and the dealership wanted us to tow the car there. Instead we bought a $15 replacement off Amazon and tried this. You saved us a ton of money thank you!

I bought 2 key fobs for less than $20 on Amazon. Your method to program it was spot on. It was so easy to program it. I guess it was the time waiting is why they charge so much. This worked just now on a 2011 Cruze. I ordered 2 uncut fobs off eBay for $14. The Chevy dealer cut my keys for free today, I think because they don’t want to be at fault if they don’t work.. anyways it cost me $14 from having no key to being back on the road. This video saved me atleast a tow and programmer. Thank you kindly

@@PYR-Auto will this work with my old key/fob? I have two keys/fobs but for some reason I can't start my cruze. It doesnt do anything weird other than not start. The lights all come on normally on the dash etc. But when I turn it to start it then it doesnt start. I put in a new starter and that wasn't it. Everything tests good fuses/relays, fuse block are all testing good. Thinking either it lost the codes or I have a problem with the ignition ? I might try this if it will work with my two keys I have always had.

Tried this on my 2017 Cruze and it worked. I ordered a blank key online for about $50, then took it to a local hardware store to have it cut for $25. According to other sites, this procedure will render all other keys non-functional. If you have a 2nd key you want to use, once you finish the above procedure, remove 1st key, insert 2nd key, turn to on, then back to off. The 2nd key will now also be programmed. I originally had 2 keys, lost one, bought a new one, then reprogrammed the new key plus the remaining original key using this procedure. After each key was done the information center reported "1 key has been reporgrammed" then "2 keys have been reporgrammed".

Thank you sir your video save us a lot of money and time, I purchase a complete flat key fob from Amazon for $14 for a 2015 Chevy Cruze I took the old flat key and switch it with the new not cut flat fob key trust me you don’t have to go to the trouble by removing the pin just to switch the flat keys.

I have a 2015 chevy cruze ltz and ordered new fobs because the buttons got pushed in on my original fob so now I can't remote start it. The problem is all the videos I watched to program this new fob shows a KEY to reprogram but I have a push button start. I haven't seen any videos on reprogramming the fob that way.. is there a way to do it ?

Am I able to take my old key fob apart & use my key 🔑 from my old key fob and hook it to my new key fob & it work? Just curious?

There is one final step to clear the service theft deterrent system massage. Once the new key is programmed, put the old key back in and turn it to the run position. This will clear the service theft deterrent system message when using the new key. It worked on a 2019 Chevy Cruze.

What if you don't have a traditional ignition? I have a push to start with a backup ignitian in between the front seats in front of the cup holders.

The remote portion should program at the same time as the key portion so I think you may have a problem with the Flip-key itself.

To Easy, Thanks for the share. Last owner had Dealer supply and programme Cruze key/Remote over $800. No Comments, save I can source Key/Remote from Locksmith, less than $50, Ready to cut blade and program. Probably over $600AUD savings.

The remote needs to match you vehicles options, so if the vehicle doesn't have remote start then the remote start fobs wont work

So question will this work if I switched the key fob blades? Essentially I have the same key but new fob. Alarm went off as soon as I put key in ignition

You changed the key blades but the transponder, the part that needs to be programmed, is still inside of your old key. Try holding your old flip key as close to the ignition as possible while you try start it with your new flip key. Once the vehicle is started and the alarm is deactivated - try turning the car off and then programming the new key as shown in the video

I would recommend going off of the time rather than the security light. If that does not work there may be an issue with the key you are trying to use.

Quick question. Did you need to take your car to the dealership to have the key cut or for any reason?

If you have no key to copy you will need to a dealership or automotive locksmith to cut the new key by code.

I have a 2018 chevy cruze with one functioning flip-key fob. i purchased a new key from the dealership, had it cut there & attempted the easy turn on/turn off method - of course it didn't work. my question is if i try this procedure (the 30min one as if i had no functioning remotes) can i reprogram the original keyfob myself with the simple on/off procedure. From your videos i see that the original key won't function now. my fear is i will end up with NO functioning keys. dealership told me i could try the 30min on/off process - that it wouldn't harm the car. having them program this will cost another $120. of course, this model year -2018- seems to either need both keyfobs or none. advice?

It worked on a 2015 chevy cruze. I did it just like in the video. Only difference the alarm goes off for each round. I started the first round and set a timer. Then I would get out and shut the door for each round. I would re-enter the car 30 sec before and then repeat for the full 3 rounds. The alarm goes off for each round. Which is confusing at first. The alarm will shut off after the last round and the dash will clear

The first thing I would try is to go through this procedure again using your "old" key.

Hopefully someone can help me. I recently broke my 5 button 2015 Cruze Key fob(Got ran over as I pulled my keys out my pocket and a close vehicle hit them) The key part is fine, but the Programed button part doesnt work at all and my Cruze enters Theft Prevention if I try to insert and turn key. I went to Autozone to get a key fob that looked similar but it didnt come with any sort of internal chip. Im wondering where can I find one easily programable or do I need a locksmith of some sort?

I did some research and it looks like this procedure will actually work up until 2019 on the cruze, I changed the title of the video to reflect that. You can also find this procedure in your owners manual.
