Since there are more people than usual that aren't reading the description, I'll put it here too, b/c people be legitimately upset for some reason lol. This video is an edited version of my full stream I did. I watched and analyzed every single dance including Specialist. It didn't make the cut for this video because technically Specialist is not Yu's toughest technical dance, and as such I didn't say much on it in the full stream version. It's just a neat mode in rhythm games in general. Plus, you can't really see everything during in-game, a feature where you can see the dances in detail is just well thought.

"Alot of Adachi's moves are based in Isolation." Can we seriously get an S tier for how thematic that is?

It's nice to see that Atlus is giving more character to them through their dances. I also like how they made other characters shine like Haru, Yosuke, and Junpei (like wtf I wasn't expecting him to slay those moves). I was getting kind of tired that people expect the protags to be perfect at EVERYTHING, and while they're good, I'm glad they're not exactly the best in their group.

The dream doesn't teach them how to dance by magic, the only thing it does is allowing them to move how they imagine it, it would still require a great amount of self-awareness and dancing knowledge to imagine the exact moves you want to pull off. So the only real advantage it gives is that it removes most physical limitations (Ryuji's leg for example) and makes it so P3 and P5 characters don't need to warm up or train/rehearse beforehand (but even then, they mention in social link events that they train in-between dances). It just allows them to compensate for the fact that the P4 characters trained for quite some time before the game, because even if you can move how you want to, you still have to know how to dance in theory at least (just look at Akihiko just shadow boxing over there). In conclusion: Ryuji CAN dance, but he doesn't know HOW to dance (but as long as he's having fun, it's okay).

Kanji should be in S tier for how he danced in the intro of persona 4 dance. Man committed 3rd degree murder on the damn floor

Watching 3D models dance really makes me realize how important facial expressions in dance. They dont have all the little expressive moments that makes watching a real human dancing so powerful

@@alzhanvoidsansado nah. coming from a competitive dancer, the way you present your face relative to the style of dance you’re performing, it could be the difference between a scholarship and just a good score. the way that express yourself could come down to just the way you smile. the faces that the models make is different from a real person’s and that’s why it’s so different to watch them versus an actual dancer

Regarding Morgana there’s interviews with the mocap dancer & crew about how he was having to extend his movements much farther than would normally be required, in order to be identifiable movement when translated into the teeny tiny cat not-cat limbs ^^’ to do the teeny tiny moves is C tier, but to recreate the mocap performance looks more like A based on those interviews

I love how in the opening, kanji shreds the dance floor to a million fucking pieces then tosses them up like confetti to serve as decoration for his immaculate dance skills, but in the game he's just vibing lol

Tbh i used to dance when I was little but because my family couldn’t afford it I had to stop and honestly haven't had much a thought to it. When I discovered your channel, I really enjoyed your persona content and to learn that you are a trained dancer that plans on doing these dances has inspired me to try doing dance again!!! And I think its so cool for someone who is trained in dance to put the persona dances in a tier list :)

Anyone who's played P4D knew from 0:00 that Yosuke was at least gonna be A-tier. His dance captures were so good that they had to write in a piece of lore to make sure you knew he had more prior dancing experience than the rest of the Investigation Team (save for Rise).

I know you're approaching this as a dancer, but as a 3D animator who dabbled in motion capture it is extremely fascinating to hear your take on where feet should go, weight should be, etc etc

Funnily enough, there are unused voice lines in the game that show that one point they did plan for Koromaru to be a dancer, but they scrapped it early enough in development that no other leftovers like a model exist. As someone who has absolutely no knowledge of dancing whatsoever, this is fascinating to watch!

I love how there's absolutely no bias on how good the character is, well, besides Nanako and Fuuka, they're cute and gets a pass. Crystahl judges on how hard or good the dance is, why are the P3 cast really popping off.

Probably not, because most of the time he spent with her was in a hospital bed, or her drawing. Haven't played P3D, but I'm assuming that it takes place around December or so. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Junpei was the greatest surprise I could ever receive from a dancing game.

It's hard to tell between what is generally just a good dance, and what is a dance that takes training to do. Like you can't blame me, I thought Ryuji's was a total vibe and it was gonna be higher on the list, but it ended in D because the bro is making the dance up while dancing it.

Can we appreciate that the stream acknowledges Junpei a good dancer while the P3 cast didn’t pay any attention of his moves😂

I think a lot of the gameplay visuals focus on the upper halves of the characters at different camera angles, since 90% of the people who’re playing the game are there to see the characters dance, not necessarily to see fancy footwork. It’s difficult to see how one move slides into another through basic gameplay because of that, but choreography mode definitely shows that they every bit of effort into characterizing the dancers through more than just their faces and upper bodies

I look at Yusuke dancing and all I see is Squid ward.

Y’know what, it’s completely in-character for Junpei to be the best dancer in a dream world where you can dance as well as you can think you can dance.

“His feet are fascinating to watch” is something you can only say in context of dancing without it sounding weird

I really enjoy people talking about stuff they're passionate about Like I don't know anything about dancing yet you explained everything in a way that even I could understand and have fun while doing it. I had a lot of fun watching the whole thing.

It took me a hot minute to realize that I'm watching a professional dancer analyzing fictional anime characters dancing. I have no regrets.

This was honestly one of my favorite streams you did! There was just so much passion and enthusiasm.

Ahah!, I knew Junpei will be high around A or S. The camera works in the video doesn't really show his overall movements, but since I played his songs quite a lot, I began to pay attention to it more.

What made this video even more fun to watch was hearing your professional opinion on dancing, your passion. Also I'm very glad to see you having fun with Persona in general!!

Just finding out Adachi and his use of Isolation just makes me appreciate this game more

I imagine her moves be less technical than Minato's and more like just her having fun. There is a mod where Fuuka is skinned as FeMC as it suits her quite well except in my opinion, I feel it is way too cutesy.

da man being S tier is biggest surprise of 2021

been practicing p4 cast's dances for half a year and adachi's and yosuke's are the hardest for me imo

the twins is the hardest dance because it takes years of practice to make a table emerge from a hell portal

So happy my boy Yosuke got the respect he deserves

Saying "Yusuke best boy" gained my *immediate* respect and a subscribe lmao

I could watch yusuke's life goes on dance all day, his dance is so smooth is like looking at an illusion

Adachi got some killer moves, both literally and figuratively speaking

holy shit, it just popped in my recommended and i sat through the entire thing loving every second! you girl are awesome!

I am like more surprised that the S tiers are just really insane execution minus Haru and Mitsuru since thats just ballroom ballet and dancing on steroids mixed with modern hip hop dancing

24:57 Oh! I just noticed! Given to how much Ken looks up to Akihiko, I think he's trying to do Akihiko's moves from the original song he's dancing in when those same verses pop up; that's why Ken did those weird chicken-like moves, Akihiko did them too. xD

My favorite dancer is Naoto because...well I'm gay but damn that dance is so fucking seducing I've gotta give some massive props to it. EDIT: Also I like how Junpei acts all goofy in his dances a lot of the time, but when he actually dances, HE DANCES. I think it represents his character very well
