Prof.Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang runs for vice-presidency in Ghana

A female vice-presidential candidate is a running mate for a major political party in Ghana for the first time. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang made history this year becoming the first woman on the ticket of a major Ghanaian political party. John Mahama, head of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), chose his former education minister to be his running mate in the country’s general elections. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang has broken through barriers before when she served as the first female Vice-Chancellor of a state University in Ghana at the University of Cape Coast. The SABC caught up with her just before voting day.
