No end in sight to Pikitup strike: Enos Maake

Frustrated residents in Johannesburg say they remain concerned about the lack of communication in relation to when Pikitup services will resume with piles of refuse posing a health risk. Casual workers at Pikitup have been striking over demands that their posts be made permanent. Now let us get an update from a representative of the workers who've downed tools.     Pikitup has always been a problem. Refuse removal needs to be done differently as this method is not working.

    Somebody has his/ her own people to hire and pay them peanuts! My partner’s mother had this same thing happen to her! Thuggery/ corruption on steroids that’s it!

    I think recycling must end has im from Durban living in joburg and only jozi recycle people bins even myself it does not make sense has we move dirt from one area to another area 😮😮😮
