Producing Melodic Pop with Kito (Jorja Smith, Jeremih, Fletcher, Channel Tres) | Native Instruments
Музыка
Based in L.A. (by way of Australia and London), Kito has produced for Jorja Smith, Jeremih, Fletcher, Channel Tres, Tinashe, Empress Of, and the list goes on. Her unique style favors airy guitar and synth sounds, plus tons of vocal effects and ad libs. Kito started her production journey with drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep releases on Diplo’s Mad Decent and Skream’s Disfigured Dubz, before being sampled by Big Boi and Trinidad James and hitting the studio with everyone from Mabel to Hudson Mohawke.
In this video from our Sketches series, Kito makes a mellow pop track from scratch using products from our KOMPLETE NOW subscription bundle including BATTERY, CLOUD SUPPLY, BITE, RAUM, and MASSIVE X, plus our ELECTRIC SUNBURST guitar instrument and a KOMPLETE KONTROL S61 keyboard. You’ll learn about arranging pop, bussing and sidechaining, EQ and effects, and using MIDI to stack melodies.

Thanks for saying the one thing I've been waiting to hear for years anyone to admit. Adding a note(s) that you couldn't physically do otherwise with a keyboard due to either lack of training or physical impossibly. I've always been of the opinion that if it cannot be done live then it should either not be done at all or properly represented as you have so courageously done. Those of us who've literally spent our lives (over 50 of them in my case) learning do appreciate the honesty. As long as one declares such it means a lot to those who have worked so hard. Thanks for the time and effort on the video.
Ughh I love Kito's production style so much. Her music is unreal. Thank you for featuring her!!
Wow. That was so instructive and inspiring... just her relaxed approach to not overthink things was inspiring to me. It's ridiculous how much talent she has. I hope she has a YT channel. I could watch that stuff all day LOL (and not get any beats done)

That desk looks so good ! This is so inspiring. Love watching peoples process !
This was such a great video. I love how simple the production sounds, but it's very thoughtful, in a different way. I love that she did this track, like this.
one of my fav producer, congrats Kito!!
Kito's Pacifica remix is still one of the all time underground greats imo, so happy she's making it in LA. I've danced to you and Reija Lee on a few dancefloors in my time with virtually no one else knowing who you were. Thanks for being an Inspo
I remember when you used to make Dubstep haha.....honestly Kito's early unes from back then were a big part in pushing me towards becoming a producer. Great to see how far she's come.
Proud of myself for picking up "Australian living in LA" after five seconds 😁 this was really great. Well produced (both Kito's sketch and the video!) And enjoyable. Great work, everyone!
I thank Kito as well as the NI team for doing this interview and showcasing Logic Pro X as well as the NI Vst's. She is very detailed in work and go to show the versatility of Logic as well. I love Logic although I'm currently doing somethings in FL Studio but, using NI products as well. Great Job!!!
I really like the series. I'm sure that people will engage if more videos like this added to the series.

Native Instruments designed Guitar Rig 6, therefore I love you guys because that’s EASILY the best plug in of all time. I use it as a reference when buying other plug ins, like I got this much value from guitar rig for ~$200-$300, I won’t buy another plug in for that price unless it provides the same value which they never do LOL

Very talented. So organic
i always assumed if someone has guitars hanging around that they are a guitar god. now i realize sometimes its if you just have money. I appreciate the insight she gave- to be honest i may have been living under a musical rock the last few years- didn't know about the artists she mentioned but they have impressive libraries! i like the ideas with the kontakt library she gave, very helpful
