Procedural PBR in Blender - Showcase
Фильм және анимация
While the world is still in shock over Substance (Allegorithmic) joining the Adobe family, I want to take this opportunity to showcase a few of my procedural material studies made solely with Blender.
Join the Blender family!
It's going to be great :)

Simon Thommes I haven’t tried it yet so the answer might be obvious, but is there a way to remove the animation from the fire?
@SimonThommes

@@PetRatPro Yes, there is a time mod parameter that changes the animation speed. It's good that you ask because there is an error with that in the current version (it's capped to [0,1]). You have to put in a number like -10000 by *plugging in a value node*. That will divide the speed by 2^10000 (basically frozen in time) :)

@@SimonThommes Man I really love your work. You're not uploading anything for one year 😢
Fantastic! I personally think Blender developer's time would be very well spent adding more nodes and node functionality. Take the Substance designer atomic nodes as a reference. Blender needs more nodes! WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A BLUR NODE!

People have not yet quantified the power of Blender ... the EEVEE will show this ... With your help!
Your work is brilliant. Thank you so much for being in the Blender community and making these things free
My brain just broke. That fire in Eevvee is insane.
this is crazy and AMAZING! could you please do a tutorial on the scales??
Dude you are the best. You're giving these away for free on Gumroad/in tutorials? This is insane. Your work is incredible.
As someone who used adobe master suite for years and then got left out to dry I couldn't agree more. Blender has been such a breath of fresh air. I've also used C4D for years, also replaced by Blender. I thought Blender was meh but its come so far and with the community building and adding on addons not to mention python !? we have infinite possibility!! Stoked
Those are seriously impressive procedural textures. I can't wait for the tutorials. great stuff. +1 sub for sure
I can't thank you enough for all these EPIC MIND-BLOWING shaders you have made. You are epic bro!
You scared me! Such a realistic snake skin!!!
Wait, that's illegal. But in seriousness, amazing work and understand of Blender's nodes. An amazing showcase
wow. I really hope You will teach us some procedural stuff. No idea where to find GOOD and comprehensive knowledge about it. I love it. Great and beautiful work.
I bought the scales and fabric one yesterday. I could not get them to look this good, but I was not able to fiddle with them that long. They are clearly very powerful!
Your work is impressive! Thanks for the video.
You Sir are a magician!
Really good job! Keep killing it!
These are amazing! genius work!
You are on another level. I wish i could do 50% of the work that you do!!
Just subscribed to your channel, love your content! thanks a lot!
you are an absolute legend
Diese prozeduralen Materialien sehen einfach umwerfend aus! Awesome procedural materials!
very nice work sir! omg blender 2.8 and Eevee great art things are coming to the blender community :-), I love 2.79 but the speed 2.8 presents is fantastic. always new ideas, always new add ons, many try to place their products or to place new but the community reacts so fast that there is always a free version or very cheap version of the genius add ons. with this fast Eevee realtime renderer 2.8 it will soon be possible to open your own disney or pixar studio at home :-). just great
Damn, I just found this channel because I want to learn more procedural stuff. This is insane. I wanted to make timelapse animation of the sky and the procedural volumetrics look like it can be used for clouds.
This is amazing!
you are one of the best, Thanks
Man im so hyped for that. I hope someone will develope a free alternative to substance designer. And that in Blender. :D Ach und Grüße aus Deutschland. ^^
I'm a big fan of reptiles and Blender (though I'm still no good at modeling animals) so I'm crazy interested in how you made these snakes and their scales/textures. AMAZING Simon!

Great video.
very nice and capable. Because blender has simulations capabilities, a lot of the dynamic substance stuff should be possible, too.
you rock man!
wizardry no other explanation
you're a wizard
0:22 as it evolved over the millennia, the Banana Viper's head gradually atrophied into a featureless feeding tube. This adaptation allows it to consume prey several Blender units larger than itself, without the need to dislocate its now-nonexistent jaw.
WOOOOOW
man you're a fukin boss! amazing work!
Wtf this is insane
bay bay AllegoDobe :)
This will be great! And Quixel Mixer is coming, too!
I wonder how the snake one would work for the snake head.
NIce Job
Love u
Hello, I know it would be quite time consuming, but I´d really love to understand the logic behind the nodes, it would be great if you could do a "how and why to" about the scales-shader!
That's crazy stuff, man. Really impressive. :) Can i ask, what's your hardware config? I'm gonna build my new machine very soon, just curious what your specs and how smooth they are in terms of working with blender procedural stuff, eevee and all that. Just to have reference point. Thank you! :)

Hey this is great work. I'm trying the procedural scales shader and cannot figure out how to get it to work? Material always smooth, no scales. I've tried on curve and mesh and can't figure it out also no tutorial to be found, cheers.
You are amazing man.i am a beginner and I like things procedurally but I can't create you can tell me how you created this snake scales
i would like to see a tutorial about the snake material
Can you do randomization in Blender Materials like the Random node in Substance Designer?
Is it possible to have the scales flow using a flow map or something Not sure how it works Basically I had to do scales over a humanoid character, so I used particles with a mesh scale Quite laggy and I had to bake the AO since it looked best.
@SimonThommes

The scales align along the y of the UVs. You're idea is possible to but not easy to implement. You can create a second UV map for the scales only for alignment.
Black Magic... :D
I cannot view the video for your paralax node kit, and I don’t know of any other way of contacting you, can you post it on KZread or fix the video?

Hi Simon! I can't find the procedural cloud addon, is it still available?
No wonder allegorythmic sold their soul to Adobe, they were scare shitless of Blender upcoming features!
Please Simon show us just for one row of your snke scccccaaaaaale
Hi there, I was trying to understand how one of your node setup works (Knittr, and it's crazy by the way), but one thing that was annoying was that I didn't see how you can imagine that connecting all of these nodes together can make this result. So I was wondering if you reproduced a math formula or if you pluged the nodes a little randomly until it works or if there is a real logic behind it. Your answer could really make my day.
@SimonThommes
5 жыл бұрын
I go step by step with these setups. I start with a base pattern, which I create with logical thinking. Then I add progressively more features. Of course there sometimes is quite some trial and error but that depends on the subject. Hope that helps :)

@@SimonThommes OK thank you for the answer :D. Well I guess I just don't have a logical mind, so I will try some workarounds (mostly by hand ) and use basic tools when I will want to do this kind of things.
Can these procedural textures be baked?
Woah! Is that cloud shader available? Would be invaluable in a project of mine.
