I got to see 3 Giro stages this year. Lucca, Perugia, and Naples. This was the first WT race I've ever seen and the amount of equipment and support staff for the whole thing was incredible to me too. Watching the RCS staff take over Perugia at nightfall and waking up to a completely transformed city center was very impressive.
Surprise Ari Klau sighting 👀

Props for not using your one question to ask "How fast do those Ketones make you?" 🙌
lets be real the gear they use is not all that special. They can do what they do on any world tour bike. It's their insane athleticism and body is what its all about

Yeah the video title is effectively click bait. It does show SRAM is pushing slower tech on retail bikes though, because pro here are running the same gearing as Shimano: big rings, big cassettes.

Is that @archmdz in the Ketone-IQ outfit? That's awesome Ari
Happily surprised to hear Ari's voice in your video 😊 The collab I didn't know I needed
You have come a long way Jeff with NorCal , I enjoyed this one again :)
Fantastic couple of videos from the Giro, congratulations on making the trip Jeff!
When you have a weight limit of 6.8 kg, there’s no point in having a climbing bike that is not much lighter than Aero bike. That’s pretty much why Aero is chosen over so-called lightweight
A massive undertaking as you say Jeff with each rider getting so much attention and support. Perhaps most shocking is, all this can take place without my assistance. No idea how.

I would have never thought to see you in my country, i saw the race too (participated in the Giro E livigno stage). Hope you had a great time...subscriber from Milan (the city not the rider lol)
Jeff this is dope. Love that you’re getting recognition from arguably the tippy top of the sport
Appreciate the brief insight into Visma's setup. I'm sure there are Media rights and contractual restrictions that prohibit you from making this an hour-long video and showing full interviews. Since i will never be in the position to get behind the scenes, I'm appreciative of every bit of info the social media world can reveal. Thanks, Jeff. I think Sepp Kuss is the only one who consistently (maybe 90%) rides the R5, Jonas V does on the biggest of climbing stages and the rest of the team seems to opt for the S5 most of the time. At least my observation of the last 4 grand tours
I want more of this it is so good and also maybe a little bit longer like the full interview with nutrioners or people like this
that is intereseting about the crank lengths. Some of the riders - Pog for sure - and so is Pidcock and Ineos, are going shorter
You don’t wanna carry around extra weight. Jeff you savage for that one!
Re the longer cranks, most of the guys left on the Giro by that time were 1.80m or taller. makes sense.
Was that Ari Klau!??! 😂
Great vid. Gee Ari really plugging the Ketones 🤪🤪🤪
I did not have Ari Klau appearing in a NorCal Cycling video on my 2024 bingo card. Super cool to see Ketone IQ bring yall' out to Giro
What cassette was paired with that 54-41 crank? It would be interesting to see what's their low gear for the climbs!
Interesting choice on crank length, I wonder what the reason for it is. If I had to guess I suspect that it is something to do with low RPM. Saw an article that tracked some pros workout and low RPM drills was something that stood out.

I’d like to hear from the actual nutritionist and team, rather than just your voice over. Why does the video have to be short? and why, with such great access to the team on the day, is most of the footage repeated multiple times within the video?
@mitchellsteindler
28 күн бұрын
Id guess because this is hos first time ever doing something like this so he had no idea what would be going on and also he only had access because of the sponsor not becaise of the team themselves so he clearly didnt have as much access as you think, case and point only being allowed to ask the rider one question. Is that run on sentence good enough for you?

Aero bikes because they climb at 20-30 kph…
for affini: remember that at his easy pace he's still putting a lot of force through the pedals which means saddle and hand pressure is less. Pro's get away with bikefits that wouldn't be possible for us mere mortals.
Selling out to snake oil nutrition brands is quite the low. Would love to see a single academic source backing up any of the benefits. All the ones they cite on their website are unrelated and bs. Lame to push such an expensive option when most of your audience members are new to cycling. Do better
you forgot to talk about the motors in the bikes
Those Visma riders must have an astoundingly strong stomach if they can look down on that utterly hideous wishbone stem all day without having to throw up. And why, for the sake of simplicity and authenticity, didn't you just let the nutritionist talk herself?!
Fan fanatics running up a climb with the racers...to a blowup ketone iq costume advertisement. What is the road racing world coming to?
How awkward to get all micd up to only allow one question
2:15 - that trend to get everybody on shorter cranks is absolute nonsense! It's just a hype, wait until it goes in the opposite direction... fact is, for some riders shorter cranks are better, for some riders longer cranks, depending on many variables like leg length, femur length, flexibility, range of motion in the hips and more. The fact that the industry nowadays only produces cranks from 165mm to 175mm is ridiculous - we need not less crank length's but more, and in fact to give every cyclist the best crank we would need cranks from ~140mm to 200mm. This topic once again proves the sheep mentality of humans - if only some people say something loud enough, the whole bunch is following them without any thinking...
@fiddleronthebike
27 күн бұрын
...and btw - at the speed those guys ride even when climbing and how marginal of a difference in performance the weight difference of the bikes make, they will use aero bikes almost always

Rushed work. Too short, and cutting off that poor lady because she isn't concise enough for your format wasn't nice. You didn't address cassette sizes. Why is the ketone thing pixelated at the end? A map of Italy pinpointing where you were would have been nice. Poo poo editing on that one sir!
