Just loved getting yelled at by my former principal because I wasn't answering her emails in late June, July or August. She had my home email and phone # and emergency phone # if it was really an urgent matter. But she got all upset that, because I Was On Summer Break, that I wasn't reading all that whooey (most of which did not pertain to me anyway) on MY Vacation. (I never started reading district email till the last week of Summer.) Ordered me into school in the summer to move all my stuff out of my now-ex room. All the supplies I had they expected me to store at my home. I would have loved to have a principal like you, sir.

Does lesson plans or administrative directives change so drastically that the email goes out that early? Honestly, if I were a 10yr teacher w/ tenure, that email would be unread until 2 weeks prior to reporting to work. I sincerely hope you enjoy your summer.

@@pattgsm I did read it because I figured if it was coming out this early then there must be drastic changes that need preparation. Nope. Just “welcome” and the schedule for the first week back. Day 1 (and I am not making this up): Resiliency training. Which is needed, but my resilience could be helped by not having reminders of the next school year cropping up in June.
