Princess Nokia: "No One Ever Asks Male Rappers, 'What Do You Think of Female Hip-Hop?'"

Princess Nokia in part three of her Snobette q&a gives her thoughts on how macho culture damages men and sets the stage for rape culture. When asked about the disparity in the way female versus male rap artists are interviewed in the press, she provides suggestions on questions men should be asked, including their thoughts on women artists they appreciate.
On corporate sponsorship of underground music and artists, Nokia says it's only right that companies pay for the influence of the underground, which until recently they've taken from without compensation, noting that while "greed is disgusting, money is a tool."
Tackling the complex topic of appropriation, Nokia points out that within popular music videos there are clear cut instance of white washing of black ideas taking place, which she views as deliberate actions done in the name of enforcing a system of white supremacy.
Note: Comments and feedback are very much appreciated, but we will remove any one-dimensional insults or attacks.

She is such a wonderful woman
YOOOO I fucking love her. Princess Nokia, Oshun NYC, Dayme Arocena n Ibeyi are sustainin my life right now in this crazy ass world. Heaven sent, divine vessels , though we all are they realize it so snaps for them .
She's like what Azealia Banks she wishes she could be like, calmly and poetically expressing her opinion.
Her and Doja Cat are two female rappers today who remind me of Lisa Lopes from TLC.
I freaking lover her!!! I would love to have conversation with her.
PRINCESS NOKIA IS THE REALEST! WHAT A POWERFUL SOUL SHE IS. 👑👑🙌🙌🙌🙌🎶🎶🎵🎼🎤🎤🎤❤❤❤❤
Her voice is so fucking soothing. Obvs what she's saying is amazing, but the WAY she talks makes me so relaxed I love it
This was so profound! Keep expressing the truth..
This woman is gold, her mind is ethereal, and her soul is beautiful. Intelligence meets spirituality and births this goddess. Asé

I think about this interview a lot. Everything she says resonates so much when I watched this the first time but particularly leading up to 9:57 when she calls out Katy Perry still has me shook a year later. #staywoke
She looks a bit like Alyssa Milano, especially when she smiles :)

I rate Nokia for speaking her mind eloquently... But male rappers do get asked about female rappers a lot. Especially "who is the best female?". You can search that question and find a great deal of discussion by main stream male rap figures on youtube even. I'd say it's more of an issue that we pretend that you need to specifically pit women against each other rather than seeing them as legit competition for men. Which frankly speaking they should be, as music has no physical aspect to it that is any better suited to the male domain.

..........................holy shit. She is beyond intelligent.
yes girl.
Yooo, I love her! stay woke!
Love love love princess nokia
amazing
My new hip hop idol period‼️☮️
the harsh reality is there is no intellectualizing the issues she is addressing, people will go against all logical appeals and have no internal struggle of conscious either, this means we need straight shooters, we need people committed to something more than "free expression" working hard is necessary. She talks about greed, but the thing to look at is "who has at the end of the day" and ask ourselves, do we try and make a political solution, or a technological one. do you know how to survive in the woods? can you get a degree in mathematics or science? we can talk about the importance of culture and appropriation, but ask yourself, what is more important, style or function?
Oh my god i love her so much
I love her she's an angel
i love her so much
Yesss she is so rad
Fuck yeeeeaaaa princesita habla la verdad!
Wouldn't be surprised if she became a politician in the future. She got ideas I can really fw, especially the stuff about greed.
