    You may want to do a little search on our channel for "princess and round". I think I may have shot this comparison before BUT in answer to your question ... When the measurements for princess cuts are listed on a lab report (ala GIA/AGS) they will always list the side to side measurements and not the corner to corner measurements which are ALWAYS longer. Hence your comment holds true. 1ct princess isn't always "smaller" as it appears on paper.

    I've heard a lot of people say that a princess cut typically faces up smaller than a round. Do you agree with this? I sometimes think princesses look bigger than rounds (of equal carat weight), but this video showcases huge diamonds in general, so I am not sure what I think now, haha...

    The 2ct has the most amazing optics ive ever seen. 3ct is obviously bigger and most would want a bigger diamond but the 2ct takes 1st prize....

    Is it true that princess cut can chip corners easily?

  • @DiamondInfoMan

    @DiamondInfoMan

    Good question. When a diamond is loose the corners of a Princess diamond are often exposed and if hit hard enough, the corners could chip. Sometimes the impact to create such damage is less than what many people would expect. This is because contrary to most round diamonds, the Princess diamonds have corners that are often thin and frail. However once the diamond is placed into a normal setting, the prongs cover those corners and add protection to them (similar to the bumper of a car).

    Do you do diamond trades? I just upgraded my princess cut and all I was able to get was what they had in the store which is a 1.5 G VS2 with VG cut. They did not have any in an excellent cut like this...How different is VG compared to this cut?

    Hey Melanie. Yes we do diamond trades. The excellent cut diamonds often have more fire/brilliance compared to the very good cut diamonds. If your interested in trading your very good cut for an excellent cut diamond, feel free to email matt@goodoldgomd.com to further discuss your options. Thanks Melanie,

    If I were the fiancée I would never say the 3 carat princess cut was too big. It would my dream to be offered a great quality 3 carat diamond.

    Hi Judy Dang Please forgive the delay in my response. My KZread email sometimes gets filtered. If you browse our site we do happen to have a couple of hand picked princess cuts in the 2ct size range which are absolutely spectacular. If you have any questions you can pm me here or email us via our contact page and we're happy to help.

    what is the ideal depth and table for a princess cut diamond?

  • @DiamondInfoMan

    @DiamondInfoMan

    9 жыл бұрын

    Hi Martini Sinishtaj .No such thing as "ideal" table and depth without also knowing two sets of crown angles and two sets of pavilion angles and even if you knew them GIA doesn't provide them. :-/ Princess cuts must be analyzed under the ASET tool. For more information you may want to search here on KZread for "optics of the Jubilee" and you'll see how modern technology helps us weed out the best from the worst princess cuts and how to truly determine what is ideal or not. Feel free to ask more questions if you have em.

    How many chevrons did each diamond have, 2 ,3 or 4?

  • @DiamondInfoMan

    @DiamondInfoMan

    10 ай бұрын

    Most princess diamonds we've came across have 3-4 Chevrons. The Solasfera princess has 3 for example. I can't recall the number of chevrons for each specific diamond in this video and we no longer have these specific diamonds in stock, but 3-4 is a safe bet.
