Love this hard working lady. She flies under the radar for all the work she does which in my opinion is a sad thing. We get so much of that Sussex lot that it underminds the lovely work of the others. They are out there making a difference to charities. Getting word out for what they are about and to me that's more important. Look were Countess of Wessex is and hardly any news on her tour. Hopefully we get to see a bit. Lovely to see the Cambridge's being wonderful ambassadors for the Queen. And Charles and Camilla are doing a wonderful job as well..

l first heard of Odette when l saw the film about her wartime experiences when l was a girl, she was born in France and was the most decorated woman she survived the war Violette Bushelle Szabo was another English agent in the S.O.E, l saw a film about her wartime experience too Carve Her Name With Pride was a more difficult film to watch, like Odette she was imprisoned at the same camp and tortured by the Gestapo.........but she was executed BOTH WOMEN WERE AWARDED THE GEORGE CROSS FOR THEIR BRAVERY in the S.O.E men and women were equals which unusual

Odette Hallowes was French, born of French parents in Amiens. Was inserted into France by an incompetant Special Operations Executive which saw her embedded into a compromised SOE network. She acted as a courier, and was in France less than 6 months before being arrested by Hugo Bleicher, an Abwehr counterintelligence operative - who had infiltrated the group by using a list lost by a courier to the group's principal agent, Andre Girard!! By all accounts Odette was difficult to get alomg with, and indeed, married three times. Her legacy should be to the incompetence of the British intelligence system, which caused her so much pain and anguish.

Princess Anne is the most hard working ROYAL rearly seen. But why is she wearing so many medals as she has never seen any ACTION, unless the are camrative gongs (some may be royal memrobillia) but not all !. This is no disrespect except to people who have earned theirs. PS I do like the FANY patch on her shoulder.
