As an American, I’m always so impressed by the Prince of Wales. He’s had some real tragedy in his life, grown up in a fish bowl, a child of a contentious divorce, lost his mother at 15 in a terrible accident, and had his privacy invaded again and again. And yet he has not only gotten on with it, he used his training to fly helicopters for Search & Rescue missions, and doubtless saved countless lives. He epitomizes someone who counts his blessings and not his burdens. He continues to serve. The UK is so lucky to have him & his lovely wife and children. God Save the King!

What about everyone else who has had tragedy in their lives, who doesn’t get any special attention for “getting on with it” or not? Yes he’s had tragedy in his life. It doesn’t make him any more special than anyone else who manages to live a good life despite bad circumstances. And let’s face it - he hasn’t got to build a career. He hasn’t got bills to pay. He hasn’t got the fear of being a victim of crime or the fear of providing for his children. Everything’s taken care of for him. Meanwhile there are children relying on the kindness of others to have food to eat. Food poverty, general poverty and inequality is out of control in this country, and these people are part of the problem. Getting rid of them won’t stop poverty but it would send a pretty clear message that everyone is born equal in terms of the rights they have access to, the amount of care they deserve to be treated with, and where they stand in the social hierarchy.

By what I’ve seen/heard/read, when William was at Eton, he spent MUCH time with Granny, learning his history. “Our” William has grown into a sincere and kind hearted man. I say our because I remember him as a newborn when his mum carried him on the hospital steps. She would be so proud of her boy.

What a great speech, brought tears to my eyes. I love how Princess Charlotte and Prince George also present to watch their father’s speech. I hope it inspires them so much.

HRH the Prince of Wales his speech was wonderful the reaction from the crowds was fantastic as he is! Very proud! 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🇬🇧💚

Once again His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales has absolutely nailed it...! A perfect blend of confidence, recognition, support and humility from an heir apparent who, has grown massively in poise and eloquence....

I cried listening to his speech he is a goodman, a good king to be.

What a humble and well spoken man people should try to be more like these people instead of being hateful towards them some people could learn a lot about manners and the way to carry themselves

Well, I must say, he is quite the speaker. I am impressed.

Prince William is a shining example of the love of family, faith, patriotism, service and duty. He inherited the best qualities of his parents and his grandparents.

He’s a f*cking millionaire who gives away a small amount of the money he got for free by being born into the right family. He’s probably better than many of the politicians elected to parliament, but he still doesn’t deserve the wealth and power he or anyone else in his family possess. This is an outdated concept that is only carried on due to the fear of what might replace it.

I love the little Princess sitting and waving the flag.

When William spoke of being proud of his father, I swear I saw The King start to tear up. I think maybe he must also be full of 🎉pride towards his son. And to know that you have a kind loving smart hard working heir must be incredible.

I believe Prince William and King Charles lll are equally proud of each other. What a beautiful and moving speech. This is the second time I have watched it and it's made me cry both times. I am American, but I love England, the monarchy, the royal family, and the commonwealth! God save the King, and protect and watch over the family, the country, and the commonwealth!

No matter how good or bad a Father is, its great when you sit & watch this, have chills & know at the back of your mind that you have a Son that care so much, and that Son acknowledging The Father who brought him into this World, you carry along His Name, The Torch, Baton & His Legacy. What a lovely speech so clear and uplifting and also so good to tell us what his father has done and achieved all these years. These positive things need to be told so that we can get a better understanding of what Charles and Camilla and his other Royal family members who are close to him like prinses Anne, prins Edward and Sofie and William and his family has and trying to achieve for people , with all their charities that they are involved in. A sample that is so desperately needed.

From the moment he walked on that stage, you’ll know he will be a great King. He’s truly Diana’s son, with the power and charisma he holds over the crowd is phenomenal. This, however, does not demean on the contributions played by King Charles, the late Queen and his family altogether, in bringing him up to the man who he currently is. All I’m saying is that he’s got his Mom’s charisma.
