Round 5 was when Naseem realized he was not winning the fight. He landed some hard shots on Barrera but Barrera ate them like a typical Mexican fighter and just stood there and fired back.

@@mikelomez9313 Yes he was a hype job. His management knew it too. Why do you think they went to such lengths to keep him away from the man who was his mandatory(Juan Manuel Marquez) for nearly 2 yrs? Why do you think they signed to fight Barrera instead of the man (Eric Morales)who'd just beat him ? Because they mistakenly believed the Baby Faced Assassin to be the easier assignment. Whoops! Hamed got exposed as the over hyped front runner he was.

37 fights with a 90% K/O rate, holder of every belt and only 1 loss in which he was out of shape with a broken hand, and yet Barerra still couldn’t knock him down. @@VillainArc09 bro in hindsight all that boasting he did was for the sport, to bring a vibrant confident personality like Ali back to boxing so that it would attract fans from all over the world whether they hated him or not, because it was good for the sport. And what I said still stands true, it’s documented he was out of shape due to breaking his hands since he hit so hard, so he neglected training for Barrera to recover when he really should’ve postponed the fight. But he took it lightly then got fat and had to lose some 30+ pounds in 2 weeks, shadowboxing for hours in a sauna the night before the fight to shed the last couple pounds, which is terrible for your body losing that much weight that fast. That’s why this was the only fight where he didn’t do a somersault into the ring, he was exhausted lmao. But he took the L like a boss and wasn’t salty about it. He also proved how strong a chin he has to have taken so many hard shots from Barrera and never falling once.

Berrera is a rock here. All this talk about Naseem being unprepared is nonsense as is the talk that Hamed was past his prime. Hamed could have had a rematch, but ducked. Both fighters were 27 and Barrera was still fighting 10 years after this fight. Summary of Naseem Hamed: southpaw with unusual boxing style and great natural talent, ultimately undone by believing his own trash talk and not being a match for a serious challenge from a hard champion boxer who countered his unorthodox style.

Hamed went as far as his style & skills could take him & that was to the level of someone like Barerra, who was past his prime at the time. hamed dominated at division in an era where it was weak, flattering him. In reality, his style & was that of a novice but practised by a supreme talent. when Barrera burst his bubble, he also took hamed's self belief, which was, unfortunately also, his delusion & home he fled, humiliated, humbled & with crystal clarity......but time fucks with perception, hence his feeble excuses.

Juventud Guerrero i think he should save that for a video? What you reckon BLTV? Do a video on how your wise knowledge of the sweet science? Or a biography of your favourite matches? Your boxing knowledge has enhanced mine to a degree where my father, who is a boxing Bible even has been shocked by my knowledge and learned things by me o.O you're a blessing to the boxing community my friend ")

Kronorium Kaos I agree, I'm very impressed by his knowledge and he sounds like a pretty young guy. I'm 22 I've been in and out of Boxing gyms since I was 12 and I've been studying boxing for probably longer than that; I used to think I knew alot about Boxing for a younger guy, but I probably don't know half as much as Boxing legends especially when it comes to the history. respect

Being a great fighter is more than just boxing. It means DISCIPLINE -which includes not letting yourself get FAT. A broken hand would not have stopped from running, eating right and doing some calisthenics and stretching. Dude fell in love with his own hype and power and paid the price. THAT is part of why Marco took him by the hand and walked him to school.

Advertised as a Prince, but acts like a Princess and jumps around like a frog, when he fought Barrera, the first world class fighter that he ever fought ... all the rest were 'hype' jobs, that made him look so good, which he was not And when the Hamed the Princess saw Morales, Pacman & Marquez looming on the horizon, he wisely decided to run away from boxing & retire,

He was nothing but a gobby pussyhole. Half of England hated him and would love him to die, the other half were brainwashed believers in a religion that allows child marriages, and they don't count because you don't listen to adults who still have Imaginary friends that tell them to be paedophiles. They are either evil or mentally ill.

Thanks for posting this reminder. Barrera was great that night and Naz was never going to beat him. From memory, Barrera wasn't ever doing hurt in that fight. I was so happy Hamed was thrashed, he was a great showman but badly needed bringing back to to reality.
