Prince Harry was once viewed by the British public as kind, genuine and charming, a little bit like a baby brother figure. So when he announced his marriage to Meghanthere was widespread support and the media coverage and public reaction was very positive. However, since the marriage, Prince Harry no longer socialises with any of his friends in the army or other friends, no longer does army service which made him a likeable public figure, and has dissasociated himself from the Queen. How Meghan and Harry can live with abandoning his grandmother, who is an elderly lady, for how many years she has left is beyond me. Despite what the news says, Meghan was never disliked from the outset, it was the complete opposite. However, many events that followed the marriage just made her seem more unlikeable to the public. And I can't understand how Meghan didn't expect the negative media coverage and criticism, when actually, this is something that ALL members of the royal family have faced at some point, especially Kate Middleton, who has shown more perseverance and dignity than Meghan. She knew what she was getting herself into, especially since Diana's battle with the media had been shown to the whole world. It is a shame, as at the start of the marriage, the British public were very supportive towards the new couple, however now they are very much disliked and have been shunned by the public for good reason.

Im just going to say this. You marry into a family who is supported by the people. Who are more than world famous, who are richer than God, and expect privacy? That is lunacy in epic proportion. That they want to be private, but all the perks is less than rational. Fly private. Get paid. All the perk of being some of the richest person on earth, but dont want to follow the rules. Meghan knew who she married. His life was wide open. Every tiny bit of anything he ever did was public fodder. She cant pretend shock. Tabloids are part and parcel of the very privileged lifestyle. The paparazzi by turn have loved and or hated all of them at one time or another. Its part of what you sign up for , if you marry a royal.

Brenda Aniwe I agree that they were being treated very poorly, but I didn’t like how they handled the situation. Like all dramas, it could’ve been discussed privately before it being announced to the public. Obviously it’s just speculation from my part, but maybe if they had talked to the other Royals before making a decision, they would have found a better way out. They were both very impulsive, but now that it’s done, I wish them nothing but the best

pariespain- They weren’t protected in the UK though. Harry sued Splash news for talking and publishing photos of their living room, dining room, and bedroom of their Cotswolds home. And won. Make no mistake, all of the press intrusion they’re experiencing is from the UK and other foreign press. Harry and Meghan’s latest Drone suit for example, is from the German press. The American press has been relatively respectful.
