I studied outdoors (basic survival skills, skiing, canoeing, the list goes on) and spent close to 120 days outdoor in one year here in Norway. So for freezing temperatures here and for snow smelting we need a good stove! Back to the point, my teacher said “buy the Omnifuel, it runs on everything” so I said “really, everything?!” So we had this competition going, burning the weirdest things in it. Had to buy a few extra jets for it but I had it running on nail polish remover (which is some really flammable stuff) and olive oil. Needs a lot of preheat for olive oil but it works !!

I have dealt with Brunton (Primus) regarding lost parts for this stove, and they sent replacements free of charge. Awesome customer service!

Greetings from the UK! Scandinavian efficiency and engineering at its best! I have just purchased the successor to the original Primus Omnifuel - the Omnifuel ll, and am chuffed to bits with it. It is super, super elegant, robust, indiscriminate in its size when packed away and totally unforgiving in its performance. I hear people complain about the apparent weight of this beauty, and it's beginning to piss me off. If people want a lighter stove, don't cook at all. Primus stoves are a feat of engineering and the likes of Sir Edmund Hillary didn't bitch about the weight of his stove - bearing in mind, that the earlier incarnations of Primus stoves would have been rather more heavy and cumbersome. The noise, granted is loud when this lion is growling and does sound about as graceful as a sledgehammer - but if you wish for it to become a purring kitten (without compromising tje efficiency of this stove), you can purchase a SilentStove silencer, I believe they are called. I haven't a huge issue with the sound as yet, but may purchase one myself..I'm not sure. I love my Omnifuel stove and in time, I will consider it one of the most important things that I own, undoubtedly. Kudos to the Swedes! Chris.

Nice video! I have the "little brother" to this stove, the MultiFuel, in titanium. Darn great stove, but my pump failed and I had to replace it. The MultiFuel is super similar, but doesn't have the extra nipples or the kit or the second flow control valve on the stove itself (only the flow control on the connection to the fuel source). GREAT stove I have used for many years runs great with LP gas canisters or white gas on the 35 nipple. Freaking LOUD stove. Like a jet engine. As others have mentioned - you should let the compressed air come out for a LOT LONGER after you turn off the valve to relieve the pressure in the bottle.

So glad you showed the lighting process. Everyone shits on the priming process. I grew up with these stoves...

Great informative vid, I've a similar set up but with the express spider & the quality of everything is top notch. so simple to use because primus has put a lot of thought in to there stoves. I love how the pump works with the on & off a five year old could operate one of these, not that id let them of course.

I have owned an Primus Omnifuel for 15 years. Its just great. When i use Butan/ propan mix i use a Primus Esyfuel II .

Your correct about the jetboil having no heat control, its on or off. But when useing the frying pan you just have to be super attentive before things start to burn!!

When it it comes to a multifuel spider base stove....this stove is KING. I have the Titanium version and suggest you purchasing the foldable base stand pad...made of Ti as well. I also purchased the silencer package when I bought mine ($30) more, and a MAJOR difference in sound and heat dispersion on the bottom of the cookware. I've used Propane, Butane, white gas, Kero K1, red dye Kerosine, unleaded gas and Bio Diesel. I won't try Parafin lamp oil just dont like the idea of wax residual in my pump and lines....but I know it'll burn it. KING OF STOVES HERE....Tough and easy to use. Thinking about using my chainsaw gas mixture in it just to see.... no reason it won't burn that too. Just haven't got to it yet. 😅🤣😂

I've used several MSR's (dragonfly and whisperlite) and they work quite well, but I always found that they were a bit flimsy, and not 100% reliable. This omnifuel is built like a tank and I've never had a problem that couldn't be fixed by cleaning the nozzle. Truely an awesome bit of kit, but relatively pricey. I have heard a LOT of good things about the jetboil, but I don't like using butane/propane, and if I'm not mistaken, you can't simmer with it.

I have a sightly older stove that does not have the "key" valve as part of the burner. It only has a valve on the fuel bottle. Does the "key" valve give you better flame/temperature control?

Thanks for this, mine is on order. Please don't light stoves with gasoline soaked gloves though ! After use, turn over the bottle, but don't close any valves, just allow it to vent off completely, then it won't soak your gloves next time. The titanium version is slightly lighter, mostly because it has a smaller burner giving less power ; Omnifuel is 3,000w, whereas Ti version is only 2,600w. These stoves are popular with cyclists as the fuel bottles fit in a bottle cage on a bike frame. Thanks.

If you don't have gas. What do you us? We have try it with benzeen but is to dirty...

To avoid the leak when attaching just unscrew the pump to let the pressure out and then screw it back on and attached the hose.

It will certainly be a larger investment over your coleman, but I I think that it is well worth the price if you do a fair amount of camping. thanks!

I went in to my local mountain equipment co-op today, they said you should not use other brands of fuel tanks with any stove. I hope it is ok because I ordered an MSR tank for my Primus multi fuel stove, hey also I wondered if you could provide a link for the adapter you talked about that allows you to hook coleman propane tanks the little green ones to the stove, I have looked but can't find them, thanks in advance.

Looks great, I've have the MSR international and used it for years but I've retired mine to my "family's BOB" for the same reasons you mentioned. One problem I had with it was it didn't run properly with the bigger bottles. I tried the smallest bottle you could get and it works way better. I now use a Jetboil, its the best! I use it every day at work and camping/backpacking it can't be beat for what its designed for. You should try gas in a vid, it stinks but works, great review, Josh

There are several brands listed online to choose from (Lixada, Hotop, Wadeo, LVLing, Hamans, Campmax, Kbrotech, Kovea). Search for 'LPG small propane tank input EN417 Lindal valve output' adapter.

What gloves are those?

You should also let the pressured air empty completly, so next time you might not get a splur on your hand lika that..

LeonMyTube even if you do that, especially if you leave the pump in the bottle instead of taking it out each time, if it's warm, or even the warmth from your hand can warm the bottle and it still squires out, I've wondered lots of times how to reduce it....

just leave it running longer on the the off position until you cant hear any air coming out, then close the valve fully I think he closed it a Bit too soon.

I can’t get mine to burn kerosene. No issues burning propane or white gas. Took it apart for cleaning still can’t get it to go on kero. I still love the stove but for me it’s restricted to gas or white gas. I’m sure the cause is from user error. Hope to solve it one day.

I have the same stove, and it needs cleaning every week in west Africa using unleaded petrol as gas is not available, I’ve changed the jet 3 times so far and cleaned everything endless times,, it looks great in the videos in the workshop but in the real world it constantly plays up I should have bought a back up stove

...I might do a vid with gas or diesel, but it is so dirty, and it requires a fair bit of cleaning afterwards. Cheers!

Hey you gain three ounces on the titanium model... But it comes with a heavy wood collectors box! All the dudes on the AT at rockin' them! ;) Don't get me wrong I like this stove and own two (non titanium) of them. If you really want to nerd out and spend more money... There's a guy calling himself bernidawg (bernidawg cinema on KZread) who makes silencer caps for these and other similar stoves. +/- $60. I have several and they're top notch. The stove works fine stock... But that's the last 10% of performance.

I don't think so. Personally, I think that the size is almost perfect. The problem with smaller stoves is that it is really tough to do anything other than boil water on them. smaller usually means a smaller cooking surface to put your pot on. This means putting a decent sized fry pan etc. is pretty much impossible.

love that fuel system no matter what happens you have fuel...do they make one that uses the same fuel system with a smaller stove??

I still use it regularly. It has been outstanding. Simmer works well, but is very susceptible to wind.

Yes.

Leave that can in the sun while full and see how much fuel you lose with the pump on because I know the old primus were know to piss out everywhere plus the leather piston seal would fail if left with fuel in the tank

dave matthews I store my stove with the pump on. I regularly leave it for the entire winter (5-6 months) without using it. It always still has fuel and pressure in the tank, and has never leaked.

BTU or watts are not per hour. 1 watt = 1 joule/ second.

Really confusing when you talk about gas fuel. Wasn’t sure whether you were talking about petroleum spirit or propane/butane gas. I assume the bottle contains liquid petrol/gasoline and not camping gas.

Finbarr Dolan that’s because of certain language differences between your country and mine. For example, what you call petrol, we call gas. The bottle was filled with naptha (liquid camp fuel).

D. Jones please don’t. You sound stupid enough already.

The flask pump should have 2 markings on it ON and OFF ....so at 15:00 when you connect the hose to the bottle pump and hold it like that and the connection facing down the ON marking is facing up on the pump(if the flask is laying down)...if you flipp the flask over you should have the marking off facing up.......think that could have something to do with why it leaking and spray a Little when you connected it? Have never use it my self but know the pump usualy have a on and a off side. For does who dont know it already :)

I’m one of those crazy weak people 😂😂😂 but the Ti version is about $10 more than the non Ti. ✌️
