Thank you so much for this video. I have the ICAN Aero 40 wheelset and there was no info on how to change the freehub body. Apparently, Prime and ICAN use the same hubs for their wheels. Can this be done on Mavic wheelset?...Shimano 11-speed to Sram 12-speed...do you need new freehub for front wheel. Both bikes would be disc and through axle. 2nd question then can you go from Sram 12-speed to Shimano 11 speed..

I tried to upgrade my SRAM cassette from 11-50T to 10-52T. This upgrade requires the Shimano Freehub to be replaced with the XD freehub so i ordered the cassette and the XD freehub. Unfortunatly, when the parts arrived, I found out that the XD freehub is not compatible with the outer axel because the Shimano axel is tapered. When I put the XD Freehub, it wobbles. Do you know the part number of the outer axel compatble with the XD Freehub? Thanks for your help. I can provide drawings if needed. My Bike has a NEWMEN Basic, 12mm, Boost, Centerlock hub.

Hello! I need help. I have a shimano micro spline and I wanted to run a sram transmit but. Just found out that my driver is different I know I need an xd sram. But I thought I just an easy swap. When I went to the bike shop. The guys told me no one will for or no xd driven has made yet to this set up. I have a shimano hubs. So he gave me an option to change my hubs. So I can run the xd drive drive. Cus he told no other convention yet made to this set up. I thought this modern bike now not as complicated before. So is there any driver that can convert it to from micro spline to xd? Please help

@@FreeToCycle Perhaps you can clarify good video I have one bike gravel Shimano and one road bike sram is this the same method I would use to swap out my cassettes change my free hubs that way I can use my carbon wheels on either bike

Yes you can swap the freehubs between the wheels!

Free To Cycle any idea how to allow freewheel? I'm trying to do this and even removing the rubber seal it doesn't turn. It's not even tight it doesn't freewheel at all

I've got the same issue. It looks like it's missing a part for me (the small spacer that goes inside the freehub). Looking at the video both of the ones have the spacer but mine doesn't

You can search for Vision Metron SL freehub body online! They are available to fit the Shimano cassette.

Thanks Mate, very helpful video. But do you know if there is any XDR freehub on the market that is compatible with Prime Black Edition wheels (RD010/020 bearing)? The prime branded freehub is no where to be found and I really wanted to use my old wheels for a new bike. Many thanks if you could help me out!

@@FreeToCycle so this means, that prime hub end (where freehub body meets) is the same as novatec b2? for example, if i buy novatec b2 xdr 12 speed freehub body - it will fit prime orra wheels with prime hub??? help me to understand, cuz like other said, there is no info online about these prime hubs, and i'm scraching my head around figuring out what freehub body do i need for these wheels.

Not not the same on Orra wheels! They use a different hub with j bend spokes, Not a Novatec one.

Can Bontrager aeolus comp5 with shimano freehub can be used for xdr body?

I did the opposite haha. Xdr freehubs are lighter but the cassette prices are pricey at the moment ☹️

did a Shimano to Shimano swap and had the same issue with the rubber washer. removed it and it was fine. why would Prime make a wheel like this with a surplus washer? anyone?

Its for additonal dust sealing but poorly designed i guess. Lots of people were complaining about bearings wearing out so perhaps this was their solution.

Can I do the opposite from XDR to Shimano 10 speed?

You can fit a spacer behind the cassette to enable you to use the 10 speed cassette on a 11 speed Shimano freehub body!
