Thank you, I appreciate you. Towards the end of the 3rd rnd, right before split squats I started crying. This has been a long journey getting to these 20 minutes of functional movement. I spent 30 yrs of my life in chronic pain while still being an athlete. Just last year I discovered Thomas Hanna Somatic Education & currently becoming an educator myself because of the profound results it has given me to self heal. During this time I stopped weight training, yoga & all the activities I loved doing so I could learn to tune back into my body while it repaired itself. Just in this last week I have started doing yoga again and listening very closely to what else my body needed. It’s been calling to this style of movement for some time, I have just been ignoring/intimidate/to afraid to stray away from what I’ve known. Your verbiage, tone & instruction is exactly what my soma (experiencing the body from within) has been needing. Thank you, beyond what words can express for the content, knowledge & work you are producing. Peace in thoughts 👁 Peace in words 👄 Peace in heart ♥️ Namaste

Absolutely, bro. I've had a lot of shoulder pain in the past from too much pressing. Hanging, inverted rows, resistance band pulls, YTWs are all staples in my training to keep my shoulders in balance and pain-free. Thanks for the question, definitely gonna make a video on the topic soon.

In 1982, a Brazilian, Professor Alvaro Romano, began researching eastern techniques and the movements the primitive man and developed a workout called "Ginastica Natural". The main influence of Ginastica Natural is the ground movements of jiu-jitsu. These ground movements combined with the techniques of stretching, flexibility and breathing of Hatha yoga, natural movements mimicking animals ( frogs, cats, caiman, etc...) and the strength created through using body weight make up Ginastica Natural. This man in this video modified it a bit, but it's still a pretty good workout.

My man movement is movement, it is bigger and does not belong to any human made "style" or category, it is just movement with breath, it does not belong to jui jitsu or capoeira or ballet, if some guy does a move and claims "this is a jui jitsu move" they're wrong, movement that is possible belongs to all humans and no one can take some types of moves and claim to own them.

If you spend a lot of time sitting, your hip flexors may be tight and weak in this range of motion. I'd recommend daily soft tissue work (foam rolling) plus continuing to work with movements (like this one) that combine stretch and strength. Cheers!
