The writing for Charles reposne to Edwin's love was absolutely enduring and encouraging. Brilliantly done. Honestly what every gay guy couldn expect if not more it was handles beautifully. Well done writers.

When talking about Edwin’s journey, it is equally important to mention his interaction with his former classmate in episode seven. For him to identify with his former classmate, and forgive him, is a significant part of his ability to talk to Charles about his feelings. Another social comment (avoiding spoilers) is what happens to the classmate following their interaction. P.S. I also am hoping for S2.

I think it's kind of funny that the interviewer keeps saying, "Not to spoil anything," but George just blurts out that Edwin tells Charles he's in love with him on the staircase lol. I do like his answer though. I agree --- it's more than a sexual awakening for him. That's definitely there, but it's also about learning to love and realizing he also wants to BE loved. And I think that's why Charles's response to his confession is so important. Even if Charles may not be IN love with Edwin, he makes it abundantly clear that he DOES love him more than anything, and I think that's something Edwin needed to hear. Charles, too, goes on a really great journey this season that Jayden does an excellent job bringing to life. He tries so hard to keep it together, but in a way he's very repressed too, just in a different context. And the build-up of all that trauma he's been bottling up manifests itself as rage which he needs to learn to deal with. I desperately want a season 2 so we can continue to see these character arcs develop.

this is also the first interviewer i heard compare this to BUFFY and that is so true thats what the show reminds me of most

It would be such a shame if the show doesn't get a season 2. Edwin has become one of my growing list of favorite characters. As someone part of the LGBT community myself, I resonated with him the most and I'm thrilled that many people feel seen because of him. I'm also hoping to see what the future holds for Charles and Edwin's relationship. There's so much to unpack there and it would be interesting to see them navigate a relationship beyond friendship, as Steve Yockey teased.

I adore Dead Boy Detectives so much!!! I’m praying for a season two because I really want Charles X Edwin to become canon and be endgame. I also want more fun and fantastical adventures between the group. The whole groups friendship and found family is amazing. I really hope we get that big romantic twist in the future. I could go on and on about Painland and the show, so I’ll leave it at that. I genuinely am super hyper fixated on this show.

Ok, fair about wanting it to be more focused on love than sexualized, but it does nothing for my broken heart that they didn’t get together or at least kiss. Just once. PLEASE

I might be in the minority but I kinda ship them as friends, not the romantic kind. And at least they're also great friends irl.

I loved the interview season 2 please i dk if i am right but George says 'then we meet the cat king' not 'gig' , hope this helps
