I hope that Richard Tuthill will allow you to drive his 11k RPM Porsche on the ring one day. That must be mental.

My parents live next to his daughter and only a few miles from the tuthill garage. Always been fascinated with porches since I was about 9 and saw one of their cars on the local roads being test driven. Would give anything to see that car being driven with proper effort on this track.

Props to the owner. I imagine most of these cars only leave the garage for cars and coffee.

People spend hundreds of thousands building these works of art and then do nothing with them. It's such a shame. So glad to see it not only driving, but at *a* limit on one of the best roads in the world.

Pretty sure it stops making power at 7,200. You can hear it start to lay over when he was at 7300. It’ll probably rev all the way to 8800. But it being so special and rare. No point in reving past it’s peak.
@tibi1441

Indeed it was still pulling past 7200 and revving quick up top.

Look at JP Performance channel, they revved it close to 8 and mentioned top speeds for 1st/2nd gear. They did a lap on their small course as well.

if it's the same specs as the build on their website, it shows on the dyno it starts to drop power at 7,400

No absolutely not , the motor starts to sing in a harmony . Due to the Boxer layout the engine has perfect balance. Meaning max power, it sounds like the dragon finally awakes but it's screaming at peak performance. I call it harmony, everything is working at its peak. 2 strokes bikes as an example are famous for this singing or harmony sound.
"Do you like air cooled cars?" "No. And I also don't like pizza, ice cream, sunshine or getting stuff for free"

Real question, not hating. But why an air cooled car ? Would liquid not be more efficient? What makes it cool ?

I honestly usually much prefer the clinical nature of a modern high reving watercooled NA engine. This aircooled one though, being a heavily modified one, I like it.

@@b44rt It's like why having a mechanical watch (like a Rolex Sub) when you can buy a quartz and it will be more precise and reliable, the big difference is the feeling, you feel some unholy connection with air cooled engines, even it's only a tuned VW Beetle. Larry Chen did a video with the owner on the car and he goes into a lot more detail on the car and how he was sued for using the hand bag material inside of the car.
You're such a gentleman for asking if the carousel was ok! shows you really appreciate the car and owner.
In a Porsche of this era you always MUST brake going straight and his footwork shows he knows exactly this. If you "throw the engine over your shoulder" by trying to brake while turning, its taking you and the whole car with it! A driver needs to coast in loading up the nose resulting in great steering grip, then use the gas and rear weight to load the rear tires allowing minimal traction loss on corner exit. It's somewhat counter intuitive to many designs, yet only works to such a perfect level for the Porsche. Incredible bit of engineering which these days is unique unto itself. Gotta love it!

Always brake any car before entering the corner. If you need to brake in the corner, you are out of control and likely to crash. Duh.
@TakumiFujiwara80

@@nunyabusiness4188 he's talking about the usual "track style" that use trail braking for load the front or rotate the car. On opposite in an old air-cooled 911 is always "slow-in,fast- out".

Man, that Porsche was slow and didn't give you any confidence. Good reply 👍, "it's nice". If you ask a girl after sex whether it was good and she says it was "nice" you should know what that means....😢
Mr. Misha C asked how high can rev and gentleman answered 7200 rpm.. if anybody notice that Mr. Misha have some kind of inside feeling for rev limit and always change gear exactly on 7200rpm. Total respect for car and drivers and wish you all best❤
Shoutout to CSF taking the car to the Ring.
It might not have been the fastest 911 on track that day but it was the coolest, by far.

The sound of that Porsche is awesome.....can't beat old school 🙏
Stunning machine. The amount of detail these companies make on the Porsches is mind blowing. And the air cooled boxer engine sound is nice to hear. I see that e30 at the end of the video. Me being a e30 lover looking forward to that one.
That is a very special car. Superb build with exquisite attention to detail. That 993 engine at 470 bhp must be the highest figure I've heard from an N/A 993 unit - amazing!
danger factor goes up exponentially!!! Takes balls to drive a vintage 911 like this. Well done!
Hands down, my favorite car you have driven. He did a wonderful job with his build. Just Beautiful.
Watching Mischa handle that Porsche takes me back to when cars needed to be handled by the driver and not by a bunch of electronic nannies. Those other Porsches that went by, braking late showed just how much the electronic help me's were taking away from driver involvement. Now that is a Porsche I'd love to take to its limit.
Its a pleasure see this car running. Tks for sharing.
nice editing arrangement with the instruments fading into the dashcam view
The bill for this build must be eye-watering. Looks superb and I like the little subtle modern touches like the little vents next to the headlights, the little splitter out back, interior details etc... Very cool car.

In the early 90's, my neighbor used to write for Automobile Magazine. He would review sports cars and write a monthly column. He would hire me to drop off the cars he reviewed then pick up the new cars, and drive them back to his house. I had the privileged to drive many, MANY cars that people only dream about. My favorite was a wide-body twin turbo 911, similar to the car in this video. I've driven Lambos, Ferrari, Jags... you name it. This Porsche was my favorite out of all of them.
Everything Simo and his shop do is absolutely impeccable. I saw the CSF RSR in person at the SEMA show in 2021. It is truly a work of art. You’ll have to convince him to bring the restored 959 next😁
Watching the video over again makes me want a Porsche like this more and more. I absolutely love the old school air cooled cars of the past. While this was not the fastest on the track it was an absolute legend. Thank you for sharing this experience with us!

I just want to add that now thinking about it if I had the money and the resources exist I’d buy two of this car. One for the road and show and the other for track. While it would not make sense to track this car I am curious to see how well it would stand up to other cars its age that are driven hard. Hey a guy can dream.
This CSF 911 is exactly opposite of GR Yaris in term of difficulty, this required driver's strength & skill to keep it in one piece. I love both!
The hits of Goyard monogram in the interior 🔥
Love it - CSF really made a banger on this one. We were lucky enough to see the car in person at SEMA. It really is perfect.
Very, very nice Porsche! Love this type of content! Thanks Misha!
Classic Porsche rev DROP. Gotta “dump” that clutch a lot quicker to catch the engine speed and wheel speed for a harmonic upshift. Props to everyone involved for bringing this jem out of the air conditioned garage haha
