    You can purchase a high pressure ball valve, this little tool saves you from needing to hold the trigger and walking from the machine to where ever you need to go, run your hose with this on the end open valve, Turn garden hose on start pressure washer, walk back to wherr you dropped the ball valve attached to the end of hose, attach your gun or surface cleaner whatever your using and open ball valve, easy peasy, And if client comes to chat with you simple turn off ball valve detach from your gun/surface cleaner whatever, And open ball valve, Quick and easy and will save your pump, You can also use it to spray by adjusting ball valve leaver.

    This is true, but the open valve couldstill pull soap. I actually used this meathod for a little while before I got the buffer tank. It worked pretty good, but I never opened it up while chatting with the client. Just preference I guess. I know some guys use just a ball valve and no gun at all...

    You should look into the Smart Bypass, it's build here in the Charlotte area. Once you use that you will never go back, it's about a $600 investment but well worth it. Also I would look into Davis Shooter tips and the different nozzle connectors, 2, 3 or 4 ports on it. I personally run a 2 and on that I have an M5 Twist and a Davis Shooter Tip for height and fan spray. With both I can hit over 3 stories with a 5.5 GPM direct drive unit with an external unloader. Since my lawn biz is on the trailer I mounted everything inside a 6.5 foot bed of my RAM, it's my daily driver also but I put 2 hose reels the PW and the Smart Bypass with all the other equipment and it's all covered with a fit bed cover, nobody is the wiser. You posted a great video my man, keep it going for the newbies. I would post a picture of my rig but I'm KZread ignorant and don't know how.

    Thanks!! I will definitely check them out!! What do you find to be the most beneficial aspect of the bypass? Does the extra flow help that much with speed?

    I actually didn't add links to this one because it's a bit more generalized. So if I put links for a 4gpm, and you got a 5.5gpm most of the equipment for the 4gpm wouldn't work.. As far as getting a machine, you might be better off buying from a Pressure Washing supply store locally. My local store has much better pricing than most online stores that sell pressure washers, and because they build them they service them. I will definitely be buying local when I upgrade to 8gpm.

    Good info. I spent around $4300 getting started but I bought all new equipment so other peoples start up expenses can be much lower by buying used equipment. If that sounds like a lot just keep in mind I made all of that back in 2 months of starting up which is what is so good about this industry.

    That sounds about right! There are always used Rigs around Raleigh to buy, and some are pretty cheap too. Lol, it took me a lot longer than 2 months to make back what my equipment cost. But that's because I spent almost nothing on marketing.

    I thought you can only get a very low concentration of Sh using a down stream injector. Again I’m a beginner so please correct me.

  • @steppspressurewashing

    @steppspressurewashing

    There are multiple sizes of injectors that are for different GPM machines. My DSI gives me a 7:1 dilution. I have to water my 15% sh down 1.5:1 in a mix tank to get a 1% final mixture onto the house. There's a lot more math than I thought there would be lol... 😂

    How has your buffer tank been working with a direct drive pressure washer? Been thinking of installing a gravity-fed buffer tank to my direct drive unit. Is it worth it? Thank you!!

    @@AJK-3 no, I think as long as the water level is higher in the tank than the inlet for your pressure washer

    Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I actually don't have a PW that I would recommend to start out with. If you have a pressure washing equipment store in your area, I would go check them out. Or buy from a reputable store online, like Southside Equipment. If I bought a used machine, I would look for a Honda/Kholer engine and a Cat/AR/Landa pump.

    How does the DSI work to reduce the PSI?

  • @steppspressurewashing

    @steppspressurewashing

    3 ай бұрын

    So the DSI changes the entire process to a low pressure cleaning. Instead of being up close with the surface, I can stand 10-30 feet away just applying chem. Then I just rinse it off. Even though I use high pressure nozzles to rinse, I am so far away that the pressure is almost a non factor.

    Hey people, I’m in nsw Australia. I’ve been doing my first few jobs and I’ve been asked a few times already if I clean roofs. I’ve been watching and learning on KZread for a while now but I can’t see much information about what people are doing in a situation where your sh from the roof ( when rinsing or surface cleaning ) the run of is going down your gutters into the garden or running to the road and then down the drain. Are you new guys bagging ? Or pumping the sh back into the garden ? What’s the norm?

  • @NYindep7

    @NYindep7

    3 ай бұрын

    I would say it depends on the type of roof. Here in NY it’s pretty much all asphalt shingles. In which case we soft wash with a heavier concentration of SH
