Window Cleaning Fail (Lessons Learned)

In this video I attempt a large commercial window cleaning project with the Equipmaxx Superlite 2.0 WFP kit. Since I primarily focus on pressure washing and gutter cleaning for residential customers, this was a bit outside of my comfort zone. The pole and Kit preformed well, and as they were designed. My inexperience in window cleaning played a big role in the outcome of this job.
Here's a link to the pole setup that I used for this project.

I would recommend upgrading to a better filter for larger jobs like this, or to complete more than one project. The water fed pole held up perfectly, and I will definitely be using it again with a better filter.

I've had to tell my customers, I'll be back in a week. Just to touch the project see my equipment fail, know what I need to fix... and head back out with the right tools. I'll take on huge projects I don't learn small, I learn big. But that's just me... love your honest videos man.

Man, i hate that for you! I've had to walk before in a different industry and it sucks. I call it "going to school" on a job like that. If you only need a DI filter, window cleaning resource has the xero di tank for around $300. Thats the one I'm planning on getting once i can justify moving beyond my mop and squeegee. I was also going to recommend checking out ebc glide but I see someone beat me to it. There's a video on here of a company doing an airport with it and it looks great.

This is a quarterly project? Why don't you just do two hours of research on youtube while taking notes and then go buy the proper equipment? 1 year of that project will pay for top-notch. Equipment. Go back and tell the customer that you had an equipment. Failure, but you have now fixed it and hope to resume the project. It's worth a shot

Thanks! I did consider the money coming in from this account, but being so unfamiliar with the process I ended up wasting a whole day during peak PW season. I really would like to adjust my WC strategy to start smaller, and fail smaller.

I knew that the filter wouldn't last.... If you are considering cleaning windows professionally you need to learn traditional window cleaning with a squeegee. It's a myth that water fed works for every occasion. Hopefully you are pricing correctly. Minimum $65 per hour commercial and $100 per hour residential. When you buy cheap you buy twice.

Yep, luckily the pole is able to be used with a better filter system. I agree, and will be trying some more trad window cleaning. I priced $5 - $7 per window (depending on height) on this one, and that had me around $90/hour. Thanks for letting me know, I might be a bit too high...

@@steppspressurewashing If you are charging $5 to $7 per pane meaning one side you are not to high for residential. Commercial I like $65 or higher . The frequency is also higher. You can't charge $100 per hour if you are too slow, 😅. Good luck!

@@steppspressurewashing I understand but if you worked at a job and took you 4 hours and you only made $150 you divide the amount by 4 hours you only made $37 dollars per hour regardless how you charge by window or not. Knowing what you want to make hourly helps you know if you are in range or not and I don't charge the customer by the hour. I hope that helps!

Ebc Glide is designed for streak free rinsing. It helps remove the oily film on the glass. The nice thing with the product is can also be mixed with SH. I put it in my house wash batch and downstream and helps with all the windows being streak free. Leaves no residue. I do 10oz to a 15 gallon batch then downstream. If your only doing windows then add it to water only and you'll get great results

Not trying to be rude but with any wfp research you would find this setup is not what you need. Also being spaced out like that should be using traditional window cleaning in this scenario.
