    Just a hint that may or may not be relevant, based on years of powerwashing tractor trailers: Anytime you have a large surface with a lot of dirt/grime/algae, always start your spray pattern at the very bottom and work your way up, then back down. The natural tendency is start at the top, but when you do, the cleaning solution runs down and cuts rivulets through the grime below. Depending on the surface and the type of grime, these lines can be _very_ hard to get rid of, and even after a thorough cleaning may still show up. Just my two cents worth.

    I totally agree, this product is amazing. I used it on my house 4 years ago and it kept the mold away for quite sometime. Just used it again this summer but the mold was barely even present after 4 years. Hands down this is the best stuff for your money and makes you work smarter not harder.

    I bought a bottle of this after I watched your video for the back of my tool shed. Because the shed is close to the property line and the neighbor has a stockade I only have a foot and near impossible to get in there properly even with a power washer. The algae was pretty gross and I've never been able to get all of it off. After doing this twice (first time didn't quite get it all off) and waiting the allotted 10 minutes before rinsing I couldn't believe that the algae is now gone. So much easier to use and this will be great on all the vinyl around my house where the algae grows. Thanks for the fantastic tip.

    Here's a lot cheaper way to do it. Just go to the dollar store and buy some vinegar. There are no harmful chemicals needed. Just Mix 70 percent water and 30 percent white vinegar together in a garden sprayer and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes. The vinegar can cut through virtually any stain or mark - even mold and mildew.

    Bought my wife a bucket truck, you just have to know her, for doin this type of cleaning, trimming our trees and other projects involving ladders, scaffolds, ladders ON scaffolds or in back of pickup truck beds. We have a fairly large house, brick and vinyl siding, a 30X45 pool garage, vinyl siding, and a 40X60X13 garage, yep, vinyl siding. The house with 2nd floors is the most difficult but the tall garage bout as bad. Used to be about 2 week job but because didn't do 10 hour days. First time after we got the used bucket truck finished it all in about 3 days total. Amazing difference. Plus it just comes in handy. I have several brothers in law that really like it. Here in SE Tennessee we should really just paint everything green to begin with and get it over with. Mold and mildew and algae love our shady sides. Throw in some trees and if all the green stuff was worth anything we would all be billionaires. That and kudzu. Perhaps if we could just make it illegal to SMOKE kudzu cause it would immediately go to bout $200 a pound with folks thinkin it must give ya a great buzz. Heck, it mite even do that but mainly the kudzu would all be gone in a few weeks and we could all retire. Well, we're already retired but would be retired with money.... Sorry, PTSD and me. Writing on air just to be doin. The point here is i wasted lots and lots of hours with a dang pressure washer and creating a world of hurt for my much injured back and legs....over 45 years fighting evil doers in several countries. Wife resisted the bucket truck idea for years but now a big fan. SO, while most folks don't need a bucket truck at least consider renting one of those lift platforms. You can tow em home and pick em up on Friday evening so you can keep it all weekend. Plan your projects and maybe even go in with a relative or neighbor to split the use and the cost. Be amazed at out much you can get done in a short time plus doin it all a lot safer. rick in Tennessee. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". @@manlymoments8544 Thanks for takin the time to read and reply. Means a lot. Majority of my comments are overly long, can't help it. I know it's useless mostly and even I get tired of em. I don't talk to family and any friends I mite have had weren't or have died. However, I can talk to total strangers for hours. Yep, I'm crazy. Haven't worked a safe job since I started workin in 1974. Dead twice, 36 surgeries, bout 40 breaks and fractures and 5 cancers. Recovering now from recent kidney cancer surgery and wicked back surgery. No complaints. In fact if I can get back in shape, gettin harder and harder, I'm still a military contractor in several countries. Be 70 towards the end of this month, May, 2024. If I can make it. My life's been like a cheap action movie. One NDE, near death experience, involved a hit man. No joke. I'm no secret squirrel but had a crooked sheriff I had worked for that hated me because I wudnt get dirty or beat up handcuffed prisoners and knew where a few bodies were. He had nothing to fear because I TRIED to get him arrested but at the time the 4 layers above him were also dirty. Nobody cared. He made a deal with an indicted, but not arrested, hit man. Kill me and get a runnin start. Hit man is still dead. Cost me a shattered pelvis and breaks and fractures from head to toes. Months in a hospital where they just waited for me to die. Then 2 years learning to walk. Small price to pay. Aw man, I'm doin it again. I apologize. Everybody has a story and wish I could make a way for for folks to share em. Of course you would have to sort thru the BS. Don't know if that's possible. We owned a small car trader magazine for 31 years until wife had to put it on hold. Hopefully I can get it up and running on the 'Tube. You can click on channel name to see a few vids or pics. Or search the channel name to see sample of the magazine. Or search "Accelerator Girls". I've been pressure washing commercial and residential for 30 years. Aside from the expensive specific chemicals that are quite expensive, Simple Green seems to tackle a variety of projects, maintenance, and more. Haven't had damage done to foliages yet but I do a big presoak of my area of task. Also, important to keep windows wet during the task on home washing to prevent spots, or even etching from harsh chemicals. Try to work around the sun or shade areas to ease the rush of drying on surfaces. Just my opinion on what works pretty good on just about anything and quite easy on the budget too! Remember, a good though job done requires a little elbow grease. Have fun with the projects.

    Great info. Thanks for sharing, Chuck. What do you recommend for wooden fences?

  • @redbuds69

    @redbuds69

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@manlymoments8544 That depends on what you're tackling? Moss, mildew, greyish weathered look etc? Now remember, I have access to the pressure washer options so I'm referring to my approach. Straight pressure washer to cedar, pressure treated wood surfaces. If painted, same approach BUT, keep distance from surfaces and gradually getting closer to find the right method. Soak, soak, soak. Letting surfaces really soak with water, cleaners etc, allows time to break down dirt, grime and makes it easier clean. Just FYI for people who don't have access to Pressure washers due to money, mobility, use time. I seen & used a electric pressure washer doing a deck from Harbor freight that was 1400 or so psi I believe. Was quite impressed with it and the 79.00 price tag!!! Perfect for home owner type things around the house. No gas & oil to worry about & loud noises all day. Lol I myself use a unit that is 4000psi @11.5 gallons per minute Whit an adjustable psi wand. So speaking in relation to homeowners, it's up to you what you choose. If you buy a gas powered unit from the big box stores, don't short yourself and get a 1800 or 2400 psi thinking your getting a good deal for less. Get a 3000 psi for a few bucks more and you'll likely be able to tackle the task at hand. Sorry for the long reply, just my opinion that hopefully helps do it yourselfers enjoy they're projects.

Bleach is in every type of house cleaner on the market, it won't work otherwise. I always used 1 gallon of outdoor bleach and a half gallon of Krud Kutter which is excellent at removing dirt grime and pollutants.

    after power washing and scrubbing my vinyl siding for the past few years, I discovered this product. It works fantastic. No climbing ladders as the spray reached the second level peak of my house. Use as directed in this video. Suggestion. Us the product on a cloudy day. If you use it on a bright sunny day, it evaporates a bit quickly. You want it to sit on the siding for 10 minutes doing it job of killing the mold. I use it on my siding every spring. For a few bucks, it keeps the mold at bay and my house is the cleanest one in the neighborhood. My siding looks brand new and clean.

IT'S WORTH THE MONEY TO GET SOMETHING THAT WORKS FAST. IT COMES IN A REFILL SIZE , SO DON'T THROW THE 32oz. SIZE AWAY SO YOU CAN REFILL AND SAVE $$$$. I GOT IT AT HOME DEPOT. THANKS FOR THE VID.

    I've used the Works toilet cleaner on orange hard water stains from sprinklers. I use it water down in a pump sprayer because it's to strong full strength. It's cheaper and no scrubbing it work's great on hard water stains on driveways siding pretty much anything on a house. Hopefully someone will find it helpful, it's a common problem in Florida from hard water stain.

    After 6 years (new house) I noticed my north side getting green. I cranked up the water heater to maximum and used a regular 5/8 inch hose with spray nozzle. Watered the entire side with hot water and waited a few minutes. Then got up close (8 feet) and sprayed the heck out of it. The water was steaming and so hot I needed gloves to prevent scorching my hands. I think about 80% or so came off so I will use some type of cleaning agent and go over it again. Then I reset the water heater to normal.

    I did something similar with a pressure pump type canister sprayer (used for spraying insecticides and other solutions on plants), but with pure cleaning strength bleach. Spray pure bleach on whatever, wait and then hose off. If it’s a mildew driveway, you may have to use a deck brush before rinsing, but it’s not too much work. The bleach just needs help breaking up the thick mildew.

    All you really need is ordinary bleach and a sprayer. Mix 50:50 with HOT water and spray the siding with this solution. Be careful not to spray yourself (wear goggles) and wear old clothing as it will bleach YOU as well as the house. After dousing the house with the hot bleach wait for 30 minutes for the bleach to kill the mildew then take your garden hose and a long handle brush and scrub it and then hose it off. My house had a lot of green mildew on the north side so I had to do it twice on the problem areas. But it all came off very nicely. And it's cheap! You can buy an entire gallon of bleach for just a few bucks. Try this before investing in an expensive power washer. You might be surprised how effective it is. This works well on white vinyl lawn chairs too! Bleach and HOT water with scrubbing!

    Honestly...i use a bucket with warm water & Dawn dish detergent. Rinse the siding or fence ,shrubs surrounding everything ... I use a long handle that extends for painting with a soft brush that screws on the end, and just scrub gently on the siding and vynal fence etc your cleaning , it comes right off and rinse with your hose. Dawn is biodegradable and doesn't hurt your plants , and just rinse down your work area well and your done . I do my ranch house , about 1500sq ft..and fence surround and garage in about 3 hours . Due to the mowing around here 9 months a year this is done every year in September or October.

    This Texas gramma uses outdoor bleach from Lowe’s, h depot. Bit stronger than household bleach but both work. I use a sprayer that shoots solution up to 20ft for trees. I hv 2story, fill cup with full strength bleach an hook to hose and I’m off. I’m done in no time. Shrubs uneffected. But if concerned just water them after wards.
