Dear Andrew... I liaten to your teachings on Grace regularly since about 3 years now... It is my opinion that you have received from God an amazing revelation on the topic of the Grace of God and the meaning of the true Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ...and altogether with that an innate capacity to explain it to the christian public...in a word nobody does it like you! I also understand that your training as a Professor has done much to help you in this..and I appreciate it as well... Your professional background has certainly made the difference when it comes to doing correct exegesys of the biblical texts and come out with such deep and doctrinally correct outcomes in the knowledge of the Grace of God as presented in the scriptures especially by the apostle Paul. You are so meticulous in finding..linking and explaining all those scriptures to unfold the wonderful truth of the Grace message...and now to come to my point: However I also find it is embarassing..to say the least ...to notice how your professional analitycal capacities and your deep revelation knowledge ..fails you completely when it comes to another bible topic known as "speaking in other tongues" !? How is that possible..? Your claims and argumentations look to me like negotiating a hall of mirrors...and I will refrain to give a more severe judgement because I love you so much for your amazing teachings on Grace..of which I am also very grateful to God and of course to you! I cannot expand here on comment on this subject however for the sake of truth and ...for the love and admiration I have achieved for you during these past 3 years I woyld like to give two or three "insights" or thoughts if you prefer in the form of " questions" that I would like you to pose to yourself in regards to the bible passages you have cited as to uphold your interpretation of the same. For the sake of keeping this comment..not too long..I will not recite those and take for granted that the public that will read this have listened to your preaching and know what I amm talking about. Ok. First statement of yours: The gift of speaking unknown tongues was and is given by God only for evangelistic purposes..and the apostle Paul spoke in tongues "more than you all" because he needed it to evangelize ... the Galatians the Ephesians... the Thessalonians...etc..really? Dear Andrew ..come on! you are a professor and by the way with a degree in linguistics! You know better that most of us that in those days the Greek language (and phylosophy) was the single language that was spoken and understood throughout all the Roman empire! Its knowledge was even more widespread than English nowadays! In theory the language of the Roman rulers (Latin) should have taken that place but it didnt and because of this fact Historians today unanimously agree that even if the Romans dominated the Greeks militarily however the Greeks dominated the Romans culturally speaking! Conclusion: even though all the different regions of the Roman empire still preserved local languages and dialects...everybody understood and spoke Greek..for a simple historical reason: the Greeks through Alexander the Great's conquests had been the rulers before the Romans in such areas as Macedonia. Greece. Asia Minor and down south to include Palestine and on to Egipt and all of northern Africa...and that for 3 hundred years! You also know that the Greeks had imposed the use of Greek language to all those populations for administration reasons...hence ..in all the areas where Paul preached EVERYBODY SPOKE GREEK!..am I correct professor? Paul did not need a supernatural language to evangelize them ..he just needed to speak Greek ..and that is why he wrote his letters in Greek as well. Conclusion: Paul's assertion that he " spoke in tongues more than you all" must have meant something else. Namely as deductible from a correct exegesys of his writings he was speaking of the "gift of tongues" i.e. praying in anknown language given by the Holy Spirit to help the believer to pray in the perfect will of God. I will close here but I reserve to come back again on some of your other statements about the "gift of tongues". I am sure you will be honest enough to reconsider through further study your position on this vital teaching of the gift of tongues as well as the othe gifts of the Spirit. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely yours...and Still your devouted listener and disciple..( in the Grace of God). Luke.

You spoke my mind lussorio fele, Pastor Andrew Farley have been of great impact in explaining the Gospel of grace. Since grace is freely given, there's nothing wrong with speaking in other tongues. In my country there over a million languages spoken and more are yet to be discovered. English language or any other known language some how impedes on individual prayer. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, so are we to pray in other tongues. IT IS NOT COMPULSORY

Tongues is **plural**, and you also realize that 1 Corinthians 14:22 also says that ***it is not for the believer, but a sign for the unbeliever***. It's purpose is for communicating to people for the purpose that they understand what is being said (the message of God), not confused by baby talk. I think Dr. Andrew's position is explained in part by that 22nd verse of 1 Corinthians 14 which is one of the most ignored passages by the charismatic movement. Even if there were an angelic tongue (only explicitly mentioned once by Paul as a hyperbole in the "even if I speak in the tongues of angels and have not love" chapter), that's only ONE tongue **(singular)**. To have the gift of tongues, **(plural),** you need more than one language under your belt. Look at the Apostles who spoke more than two languages like Aramaic, Greek, and other people's native tongue for Gospel sharing purposes in the book of Acts. Shouldn't we follow their example instead of the people who invented babbling in the 1800s? Babbling btw comes from eastern religions if you want to research it and neurologically calms the brain and gives an effect on the person scientifically speaking. On the other hand, I know legitimate people who never spoke Spanish fluently but got to share the Gospel with a Spanish speaking unbeliever.....***in perfect fluent Spanish.*** Wouldn't you also consider that the gift of tongues? Or should we start calling it "the gift of speaking the angelic tongue" instead since the Bible made a plurality typo? These are the questions I have that no believer in angelic tongues has answered yet. I do appreciate your courtesy and thoughtfulness in your challenge of reconsideration however.

@@e_brangelical Hi Brandon. I.d like to answer some of your affirmations as i think u r an honest believer however with need of more insight to biblical exegesys. You insist about "plural tongues". Apparently assuming that the tongue we use to speak to God is only one and therefore...its not the same thing Oaul is speaking about..? Sorry bro..may i correct you? We who speak (pray( to God do so in many different tongues...as the Scriptures says: "as the Spirit giveth utterance"! For example ...since i received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of "tongues" ... many years ago...i have already spoken hundreds of different languages..literally! Almost every time i pray in tongues the Holy Spirit gives me a different language to communicate with God...so in conclusion this is why Paul correctly calls it "tongues" plural. My second objection to Andrew is he isnt doing a correct exegesys of all the passages about Tongues. He only cites a few that seem to make his point..however does not consider some others rhat shed light into the correct meaning of scripture..Psalm 119 " The Sum of my Word is Truth"..right. Ok thus said if as Andrew maintains...the only use of the gift of Tongues is for evangelization purposes Why does Paul make this statement in 1 Cor 14:2..?: " For him who speaks in a tongue does NOT SPEAK TO MEN..but to God for NO ONE UNDERSTANDS him.." So..according to Andrews interpretation when we speak in Tongues we are " Evangelizing God..??" Actually this verse brings another problem to the Gift's only purpose in evangelization..? Because as you can see in this passage of Scripture Paul clearly states that ..." NO ONE UNDERSTANDS HIM"...! So ...if they dont undestand..how can anyone evangelize them by Tongues. ?? You can see for yourself tgat as much as we love Andrew for his wonderful teaching on the Grace of God....when it comes to the subject of tongues...his interpretation is like..a Bucket full of holes..! It doesnt hold water..! Love in the Lord Jesus... I have ma

And every single day, I watch my brothers and sisters, that are on you tube, I listen to the prophecies, and Bible studies, and a lot of messages, from the Lord, I just don’t want to do something that makes the Lord sad. 1 Corinthians 14:4 "Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church." If tongues means a language then everyone speaks in tongue. If I praye in a language I don't understand how would that edify myself. That means is not referring to an earthly language. Only if I pray in a spiritual language that only God understand can it edify myself in the spirit. Andrew's interpretations are Andrew's.

DEAR Andrew.. I truly believe nobody preaches Grace like you do. It is my opinion that Your teaching and your revelation knowledge about the Grace of God is unparalleled in the world! However I do not agree on your teaching about the subject of speaking in tongues. As you have well taught us that the dividing line between the ot and the nt is the cross.. some of the teachings of Jesus in the gospel are ot. So is the our father prayer.. In the Ot they didnt know how to pray so they needed Jesus to teach them and they had to manage to pray a perfect prayer so they might get an answer to their prayers from God. Well.. guess what ? We in the new covenant " Do not know how to pray" either..! Thats Romans 8:26...it is a Statement by Paul..the apostle! And note he says "we" ..he is not saying : you dont know how to pray..so now I teach you.. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE THEN BETWEEN US AND THEM IN THE OLD COVENANT?? Because you have taught us so well that "we have a better covenant" right? The answer comes after the " But"...! Paul says But... The Spirit intercedes for us with "words that cannot be spoken"....that is The Gift of Praying in tongues.. Please meditare on this and make a good exegesys of the Word. Thank you.

@@manuelprime7881 Of course they are spoken by us through the gift of the Spirit...! Did you notice it says " intercedes with words..?" It is Words only if they are spoken..otherwise it is Thoughts! A further explanation of this passage is as follows: The apostlw Paul means that these "words" cannot be spoken by us in a natural way because we do not know the language in question however we can speak them in the Spirit as opposed to speaking with our intelligence as Paul says in 1 Cor. 14. I'd like to share a short testimony.. This happened to me when I was attending a Pentecostal Church in the city of Genoa, italy. During the communal prayer, as it is a custom in Pentwcostal churches there was this guy beside me in the church isle praising God in a perfect English. Since at the time I didn't know anybody there with whom to speak to and fellowship in English ...I was so glad I had found somebody... so at the end of the service I wanted to make friends with this guy and immediayely addressed him in English...only to find out after a few attempts...he didn't understand a single word in English..! I apologized to him and understood that obviously he had been speaking in the spirit during the prayer time! This is well taught by Paul in 1 Cor. 14. Blessings to all!

So the GIFT should be used RANDOMLY to ANY unbeliever?! SOME GIFT,…. That isn’t a GIFT, that is a choking embarrassment Andrew! So I take it YOU don’t speak in tongues ? Would you think of speaking in tongues as a GIFT if you was randomly speaking it to WHO? Speaking in tongues IS often abused in church meetings, & it COULD be argued that some are NOT speaking in Tongues! I have heard of a young girl who was English speaking, but was speaking a gospel message in French, and this was received by someone in the area who was French who told her, yet the young girl didn’t learn any French! It is possible to be stupid about it & help someone NOT gifted in Tongues, to feel less! That is hardly loving is it? Paul is not asking those that speak in tongues to NOT edify themselves! If so WHERE? The kingdom is not about talk, but of Power! I KNOW that the message that you preach Dr. Andrew is one that is Encouraging the Body of Christ, but this message that you convey about tongues isn’t fully known to you, so it isn’t helpful for you to guess! Excuse my grammar! I know a number of people who speak in tongues, yet they rarely do! They feel guilty then for not doing so! A GIFT is something you can use when YOU want,.. NOT when the giver of the gift wants! YES people abuse this gift! This abuse should not be the reason to NOT use the GIFT FROM GOD. Just for the record, Speaking in tongues are the least of the gifts, which means that if you don’t have it, then you must have a greater gift, given all the body receives gifts! So consider it good that you DON’T have speaking in tongues as your gift, because it means you have a greater gift! Sadly, the people who abuse this gift are just speaking attention, which is NOT loving, so your just a SOUNDING GONG when doing that!
