President Jimmy Carter visits San Diego in 1979
America's 39th president Jimmy Carter visited San Diego on October 11, 1979. Community leaders lined up to greet the president while others watched from afar. News 8's Liz Pursell reported that President Carter surprised members of the press and scouts from Tierrasanta by approaching them after he arrived. With a big grin on his face, he spoke with the crowd briefly before being whisked away. Carter was in town to speak to labor leaders and attend a reception at the Hotel del Coronado. At his second stop, Carter spoke about his time living in San Diego years before. www.cbs8.com/article/news/loc...

It is Joe Biden
He was down to Earth lot of liability as a person
He wasn't a good president but I certainly respect him as a man. He has done many great things since he left office. He has written numerous books, he has contributed to the expansion of Habitat For Humanity to build affordable housing, he has served as freelance ambassador for a variety of international missions, just to name a few.

Interesting to observe that most people clap politely but were not enthusiastic or very happy to see him. Might have benefited him to spend a little more time in San Diego, a little more time talking to real people rather than worrying so much about a very tight schedule and leaving only a few hours after arrival. Notably, he lost the California vote by a big margin a year later.
🤣 did y'all see the secret service freak out when ole Jimmy just took off over to them folks, they were like what tha! hey Jimmy get back here you can't just take off and head towards people now sir.🤣
