On November 22, 1963, America and the world lost a great president and leader. We were never the same since. John F. Kennedy had a vision for the future, and what a future it would have been. JFK is more appreciated and loved as the years go by.

Shubham Mohapatra he was one of our best presidents! A war hero who served his country and saved the lives of some of his men, a man who, during the height of the Cold War deescalated tensions (although the bay of pigs attack was pretty bad), someone who pushed civil rights forward. Pushed for space technology which has many benefits for common people. Ultimately brought the people of the US together which we take for granted as today our presidents now make the country very divided.

@@mikevids8107 How can you say he was great ? He was slow on civil rights , unsure about vietnam and escalated tensions with cuba. In his short presidency none of his proposed bills actually became acts. All his important bills like civil rights , medicare , tax cuts passed after his death by lyndon johnson. People give him credit in cuban missile crisis but it is a true fact that the crisis was caused by jfk only. He was not sure what to do about vietnam , many people predict that he was waiting for a second term to call back american troops but again it was he who increased military advisers there , so he is not more than a overrated president . All he had was good looks , charming personality , oratory skills , a beautiful wife and a kennedy surname ...

Yeah, that struck me too. He acknowledged the costs, and it even broke it down to the person (40 cent per person, to go up to 50 cent), to make it understandable. A gallon of gas in 1960 was about 31 cent, so it would be equivalent to maybe $4 per person today. So it's not zero, but not overly burdensome. Still great to hear honesty there.

How has the death of president Kennedy influenced their will and resolve to be succesful? In a way, I think, there might also be an element of tribute in the moonlanding. As in a means to honour, in an unprecedented way, the life of the very man who gave them the challenge.
