I think what outraged her was the fact that he lied to her, and she publicly defended his initial story. As you say, she knew about his proclivities (even before they married), but the ground rules were that he would level with her. He initially pretended that Monica was just a star struck kid who had developed an obsession with him that he had done nothing to encourage.

Agreed, plus she wasn't the only first lady who stayed with their husband after a cheating scandal, for example, Jackie Kennedy and Eleanor Roosevelt. I know there are many other presidents who have cheated on their wives and still remain with them until death do them apart. Plus people need to understand it may not be so easy to divorce the president of the United States since both of them are very public figures. Both the First Lady and president have jobs they can't abandon even if it's for their well-being. There is a reason why no president has been divorced while in office or after office. @@EadsB7002I think so, too. Marriage has been for convenience just as much as for love since...pre-historic times, I guess. When I was a teenager, I started to feel disgusted about the concept of marriage because I saw hypocrisy and superficiality everywhere. What really ticked me off was women putting up with their husband's affair if they got a gift in return. For example, there was this guy who humped a woman in the middle of a bar. Out of the sight of others, there was a wooden cabin in the bar, styled to look like a boat's wheelhouse. Inebriated as he was, he forgot that the cabin wasn't soundproof. A few days later, the guy's wife was strutting around with a red coral necklace, proudly showing it off to other women. "Not every woman gets something like that from her husband..." -- I guess I'll never marry, I thought.

@@DellaStreet123 Sad but true for so many! So many women rationalize "staying" many times for financial reasons, desire to keep the family intact, or just plain poor self confidence/sefl-esteem (i.e. they don't truly believe they can find someone who will treat them better). And i hate to even say it, but you let him get away with it once.....9/10 he will do it again....and again. I've seen it TOO many times!

@@EadsB7002 There's a reason why some places used to have laws against married women getting jobs without their husband's permission. If you have your own money, it will be easier for you to leave if you have had enough of your husband's antics. I think personal pride is also a reason why many wives choose to stay and to put up with it. It often starts with flat-out denial, even if the writing is on the wall. Then, when the shit hits the fan because someone is having a baby or there are other hard facts that make further denial impossible, then they put on that "I am a strong woman, my husband loves me and I am supporting him, always" facade. -- There are people who find that photo of Chelsea, holding both her parents' hands and the three of them walking up to the chopper inspiring, but I find it sad. It should not be a child's job to fix his/her parents' marriage or be the glue that holds them together, not even if it's an older child.

She didnt use good judgement, but she was young, dumb, naive, and in love with the president. Bill, being the adult and President, shld have never put her in that situation and shld have stopped it. But that's not how it went. It was not a usual relationship that people have in their lives. I am sure they both knew what they were doing was wrong, but she is a victim bc Bill did not take accountability like he shld have and put it all on her

Well that's a simple one. Hillary is set to go in front of Congress in September and all of the pedophilia and sex trafficking/rituals has come out in part thanks to WikiLeaks and now the millions of people who have woken up and researched what these terrible politicians and Hollywood have done to so many children. They managed to kill Epstein but Ghislaine Maxwell is going to be letting even more out before Hillary is set to answer in Congress. HE WAS ALSO VERY HELPLESS!!!!!! HE HAD TO THINK ABOUT HIS FAMILY (WIFE &DAUGHTER) HIS JOB!!. They both were at fault! They both were. I am not saying Monica is a bad person and I am not saying bill Clinton is a bad person, but the truth of the matter is that they are both at fault. He was a lot older than her, (he was like 50 something at the time, and she was 24 yrs old) 6 yrs older than his daughter. He was married, he was president which means he was in a position of power and had a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders and yet he goes out doing sexual relations with a women only 6 yrs younger than his daughter. And on the other hand she knows all of this, she knows his married with a daughter, she most definitely knows he's the president and that he is in a position of power and she still engages in a sexual relation with him. So if anything their both to blame, not only him.
