Prepping the bottom of a classic car. Welding and grinding. Slither part 38.

Hey Gang, I'm making more progress on the Mach 1 Cobra Jet. I started on the bottom of the mach 1. I wanted to address some of the welds, and grind down excess material. Turns out there's still a lot to do. I did not get any sealer on the car yet, but I'm working on it. Good things are coming.

I like it that you are doing a 1969 as I have 4 1970's mustangs. Thank you for explaining things so well. I am having one of my convertibles restored from the ground up and I will need your help, especially when it comes to wiring!

Great attention to details! Maybe a few more welds on the front spring mounts?

Paint the end of the tubes. Maybe the last4- 6” yellow. Last 0-4 red.

I so can understand the whole back issue. I messed mine up years ago by getting in an argument with my helicopter and it won LOL

You and I approach sheetmetal work very similarly. I would much rather have tighter gaps and less seam sealer. Metal is the best sealer! I actually go back and hammer all of my panel overlaps for the smallest gap possible. I also run my bare hand of every inch of the car and smooth sharp edges, welds etc.

Now that it's on the rotisserie looks like it's going to be easier to do the bottom of the floor pans and finish the welding thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍

Another bite closer. I put my 67 falcon on a homemade rotisserie. Best thing I ever did. So much easier on the back. Soon my son’s 68 mustang is going on it for a fastback conversion. Keep up the great work. Any progress is good progress.

@ 11:45- what's better than twisting the knob and seeing a full bottle of gas, right? Gotta love a rotisserie. Really can't restore without one.

If the vehicle is balanced on the rotisserie the handle to rotate won't be needed. My rotisserie doesn't have one and I haven't come close to needing one. I spin it with the arms. I don't have a crank handle either. Mine has a nut and I use a ratchet.

Do you have a fan behind you blowing the welding fumes away from you? Nasty stuff that is in any galvanized metal.
