My family thought I was crazy for cutting down the palm trees in our backyard, they were not healthy at the base and blocked our water view. A few weeks later we had Hurricane Michael and I know they would have blown over and hit our house if we had not taken them down. It's your property, your decision. I know what you put in there will be wonderful and you'll enjoy it. 🍃

I have a love/hate relationship with clearing out my containers after summer. I hate seeing the pretty blooms go, but I also love to do something no-maintenance in them for the winter months. In this video I got the estate planters at the entrance of our property cleared out and outfitted with a new, bright centerpiece. Perfect for Christmas! Can’t wait to complete the project in a couple weeks when I can get my hands on some evergreen boughs! Thanks for watching! 😊 ❤️ ~Laura

I have put off cutting down my Elephant Ear plants because they still look good but need to do it this weekend so I can make sure they survive the winter. I Iove this idea with lit branches for the winter and will definitely be stealing this idea. Thank you!

Go pro cameras are small cams you connect to actual *mobile* devices. For example- you can clamp one onto the handle of your bike and film while biking down a mountain...or skiing. Swimming or skydiving. They are used in many applications by amateur bloggersand professional film makers alike. And yes, as was suggested, there is a harnessing device where a pet can safely wear one and walk about freely while filming from their vantage point. So we the viewer see.....through their eyes. It's quite fun. I LOVE the theory myself. Another vote for the Russell-cam if you get him to wear it guys...... 👍 #RussellRULES🐈

I agree - if you don’t love something in your garden, change it. If you need to change something to not use chemicals, do it! If you can recycle a plant from your garden by giving it to someone else, great!! This is responsible gardening.

Russell takes his Garden Answer mascot duties very seriously. I love how he "supervises" every project. 🐈 The lighted tree branches look so pretty! I can't wait to see the completed project. I'm on a tight budget now and can no longer decorate with outdoor lights due to the increase in electricity consumption, even using only LEDs. I miss the lights and was disappointed to not be able to use them. However, your projects have me thinking of ways to use natural elements for decoration, and perhaps even use some battery operated lights. Thank you for the inspiration! 🎄

Good morning, Laura. Thank you for showing us the process of your winter planters. Beautiful winter interest. Love the lights. Here in Wisconsin I like using red twig dogwoods especially the older branches that are thicker and very sturdy. This gives us color until Spring. First snow this morning and the landscape is look GORGEOUS.

Laura & Aaron, I think what I love about your channel is that you remind me of important things to consider when designing or choosing plants is, to think about maintenance even during winter, and to choose plants appropriate for my region, especially disease and pest resistance. It's so easy to forget that when looking at catalogs or even the local big box stores that sell plants that really are not good for my location. Thanks for your good work :)

Never thought of going in the woods and getting clippings to put in containers. Oh wow, I'm learning so much. Can't wait for next year. It's January here now and a little late to put up something now. Your tutorials are so informative. Also, I do the same thing as far as removing something from my landscaping. If it looks bad, scrappy, or I just don't like it, it's out of here. lol I like a tailored look in my yard. The people that owned the house before us liked a wild look. I have slowly changed every thing. I gave a lot of the stuff to neighbors and they thought I was nuts in the beginning. Now they slow down and look at our pretty yard. They are always asking me what plant that is planted over there and then I see it in their yard. lol

Samantha Barris yes they even make solar. If you’re in a cold place they don’t stay lit long because cold sucks up batteries.

Love the result! Will look even more super amazing with all of the other lights and greenery! Thank you for the CMU block idea! I will try that for weight and stability for a branch tree forest I am going to try this year!

How amazing these look. It's so nice to see you getting ready for the festive season. It's not the same here in N.Z. when it's so hot for Christmas. I miss the cosiness of the fire and hot food.
