Preparing Soil in a Polytunnel

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Andrew and Niall guide you through the A to Z of soil preparation of your polytunnel in preparation for the year ahead, which is one of the best ways to ensure you will never look back. As we know the most important key to success to growing bumper harvest of healthy organic vegetables is the soil, so in today's special episode we go visit a local farm who has one of the few very rare organic beef farms in the area, run by Clive, who provides them with real farmyard manure on occasion. And for those of us not so lucky to that access to real manure - they recommend other items they have used themselves for years.

Hello from west Wales. That's-you for this informative and a joy to watch film. I am going straight to my polytunnel to dig watering holes and fling some manure!

Hi Rusty bits. Fair enough, I think I do refer to it as a Jeep in the video but meant it as a general description rather than a reference to the vastly inferior (to a Landy) other brand. Having owned my slow, leaky, noisy and temperamental old Landrover for nearly 18 years I am well versed in its pedigree. Got to run, I need to hoover (sorry vacuum) the stairs ;)

Hi, mushroom compost works well in the garden, it is high in organic matter and makes a perfect soil improver. www.quickcrop.co.uk/blog/ten-ways-improve-soil/ Regards, Tony.

I pick up horse shit thats composted with hay/straw. Its free! But i give the farmer $20 to dump it on my trailer with his tractor bucket. I spend 2-3 hours shoveling it out of my trailer i dont need to double my work!!
