Shae, ... you are adorable! No horse in the wild has a leveled, raked area to foal in. You're profound love for horses shines through like the sun. Belle and her upcoming foal have the "best" horse mama that they could possibly have. Your foaling paddock is gorgeous! And I agree with you, ..... given a choice, ..... a horse most likely would choose an outdoor spot to foal in. Fresh air, sunshine and space for mom and baby = Healthy! I am so happy for you! You're right, that's the perfect place for Belle and her foal. Her energy tells me she is an experienced mom and it looks like she is trying to comfort you like: Human, take a breath and relax, I know what I'm doing. lol. But if I walked in your shoes I would even sleep in the stable next to her these last weeks lol just to be sure to be there when she's going in laber. 😂 Checking every hour like a watchdog😂

Shae your always so beautiful even with a dirty face. The FABULOUS Horse husband Kyle looked so happy on the Tracker today. And the work got done. Shae it was the absolute right decision to put here in the paddock to have this foal . Your are right she is so big and needs the space. Plus she probably delivered outside before any way and this paddock gives her and the foal some space from the other horses for a little while. The bonus: its summer so no worries about the foal and the weather. Your guys are doing a great job.😊😊😊

I've seen mares that aren't at all impressed by large, comfortable, safe foaling stalls deeply bedded for their comfort and will hang on to the kid for as long as possible, looking miserable, when confined to said stalls . But turn them loose in a pasture for a few minutes to graze while their stall is being cleaned? BINGO! Down they go and they foal. They'd much rather quietly foal by themselves and would happily foal in the far corner of a 40 acre field, at 2 AM, in a brushy area during a thunderstorm with lashing rain beating down on them, then bring the new foal to the barn the next morning, up on all fours, clean and having nursed. It's just how they are. What we like and what they like can be two different things.

I totally agree that outside is best, wild horses do it all the time. That said I think it’s safe to say that the little hostage has us all waiting in suspense!

It is so awesome that you're doing everything to make it easier for Belle to have her foal. 😂😂I can see you watching those cameras 24/7. And the moment it happens, running out with hot water and towels, like a human baby being born. At least it is what I did 😂😂 when my mare foaled. It was in the middle of the night, and I just happened to wake up and peeked out my front door. We made the front yard her foaling area because it was big and it had grass. She was separated from the other horses, but she could still see them over the fence. You made the right decision, mares in a stall, sometimes lay down and don't leave enough room for the foal to be born. So, giving her room is the best choice. I can't wait. Until we get to see the video, Belleville had her foal. I just wanted to let you know that I am amazed that you always look so beautiful and classy, and I watched a video where your hair was down and wow, you have beautiful hair.

Absolutely perfect foaling area Shae 😃 And yes, all you can do is your best.....which is exactly the way you do everything, you always give everything your best 💜. I think ALL your ideas are wonderful and they're all going to workout perfectly for Belle and her new baby. And might I add, I know how hard you and Kyle have been working to make everything perfect, and I greatly applaud you for that, but this is the longest time I've seen you without makeup 💄 and I have to say....Shae, you are blessed, cause with or without makeup, you are simply stunning, literally gorgeous all the time. I love the area that you’ve chosen. Having all that room will be more comfortable for both her and baby. She will be able to stretch her legs and have plenty of room to show her baby how to be a horse. The babies muscles can develop well from exercise, they won’t pester mom too much from being bored cooped up and he/she can have mental stimulation. I LOVE this 🥰

I love that you are going to let her foal outside. It is so much more natural and peaceful for her. It would be lovely if there was a bit of more grass in there. Hope you get a bit of rain soon. When the foal is a bit older you could put in some small logs, etc. to get them more aware and agile in their surrounds.

I've been following your videos,love them. I have used Mare Watchers for years and it's the best system. I can't wait to help watch Belle. Good luck happy foaling!!

What a fun video! I just finished power washing my daughter’s stone retaining wall in her backyard. It was full of algae & grime. It was the messiest job I ever did! The cement grout was flying everywhere along with the green & black slime. I was an absolute mess! You did a great job preparing a beautiful place for Belle & her foal. It’s easier to work hard when there’s so much excitement around!

I bet you've read EVERY BOOK, EVERY ONLINE SOURCE, TALKED WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABOUT THIS, and I bet you will be a PERFECT coach for Belle while she labors even though you may not be 2' away from her, you will see how she does, watch for myriad list of dangers, AND the vet is most likely to be on your speed dial, in case of some unexpected event!!! I can't wait to see!! I'm certain that you are as ready as humanly possible in this situation, and I am praying has an easy time of it, and a MAGNIFICENT MOMMA!!! Keep us posted!!!

Thanks for the “Belle fix.” Very interesting to me as to how soil/fields are prepped and maintained. It’s such a beautiful day and love your backyard. Used to spend many a day on a blanket spread out under a tree reading and playing. Smart gal wearing sunglasses and wide brimmed hat as well. Loved your face with smudges of dirt. Shows what a great Mom you are to all your animals. 💕🐾

I watch another channel, Working Horses with Jim, and his Belgium mare just had a foal outside at 3 in the morning. They woke up in the morning and the foal was next to her mother, a beautiful little filly, Bree. Perfect. I hope this happens with Belle as well. Looking forward to seeing her new little foal.
