All the technical parts I bought at Mercedes directly and parts like the bumpers or a door seal I found on Ebay. There are really lots of new and second hand parts on available on Ebay.

just a small question, would the automatic gearbox from a w123 fit this engine?

There was a optional automatic gearbox for this model, but I doubt that it was identical to the one from the W123. But I don't know if it would also fit...

Hi! We are restoring our 310 to a camper as well and love your videos! I have the same part cracked, the carburetor flange. I cannot find this part anywhere, are you able to help me out? Do you know the part number or does the shop you used have the ability to get the part?

Going to be an interesting project here for me. Thinking of doing similar myself. That van has no mileage on it for its age.

The low mileage is typical for fire trucks. Also usually well maintained. Do you also want to buy a T1 or what kind of van?

@@CubeofCars in Northern Ireland there are very few vans like yours left as our climate is sorry on them. I’m thinking of a more modern sprinter van but large enough to have a sitting area bed and toilet with wash basin. Insulate it well and fit a diesel heater in the back like your find in Ford galaxy cars. I like the idea of framing the side walls roof and floor and the spray foam insulating before fitting the floor and walls etc. Has to be warm and noise deading to. Still a lot of planing to do first though and a bit of saving. I worked for a short time in the bus industry so I have pick a few tips up about coach building. I look forward to watching your build and see your channel grow

Our plans match a lot... I want to build a fixed bed and separate dinette, full kitchen, toilet room, diesel heater, solar panels, insulation (but in Germany people usually don't use spray foam, but a different solution, so expect some "cultural" differences in the van build ;)

@@CubeofCars Noch ist an meinem garnichts gemacht…. Bisher war nicht die Zeit…. Ist aber auch ein Wagen der Feuerwehr…. Allerdings eine schweizer Werksfeuerwehr. 310er Benziner ist find ich aber vom Motor her auch keine schlechte Wahl!

Meiner war auch eine Werksfeuerwehr.... und zwar von Degussa. Die Schweizer sind doch eigentlich dafür bekannt, ihre Autos noch viel besser zu pflegen als die Deutschen! Ich bin mit der Wahl des Benziners sehr zufrieden. Fährt sich angenehm ruhig und der Verbrauch ist bei gemütlicher Fahrweise echt noch ok.

@@CubeofCars Meiner von Roche… Die Schweizer schauen schon auf Ihr Zeug das stimmt … leider hat meinem zwischen 2013 und 16 dann ein Werksangehöriger gefahren der die Sache mit der Rostvorsorge schleifen ließ. Radläufe sind also schlecht… dafür hat meiner ab Werk eine Standheizung. Ich kann meinen leider erst die kommenden Tage übernehmen . (Noch ist er bei seinem „zweiten Zwischenbesitzer“ ) Ich freu mich schon arg drauf… bin schon als Knirps im 308er meines Vaters mitgefahren!

Meiner hatte auch eine originale Benzin-Standheizung von Webasto, die aber scheinbar nie genutzt worden ist und die ich nicht mehr in Gang gebracht habe. In eine Reparatur wollte ich nicht investieren, daher der Umstieg auf die Diesel Autoterm.
