To prepare 0.1 N HCl from concentrated HCl, you will need to dilute an amount of HCl to water. If we are to make, for example, a 1 L of 0.1 N HCl, the equation will be: (note: Normality of concentrated HCl is about 12 N) (12 N) x V1 = (0.1 N) x (1 L) solving for the volume V1 , we get: V1 = 8.33x10-3L = 8.33ml so to prepare a 1 L, 0.1 N HCl from a stock solution of concentrated HCl (12 N) we will need to obtain 8.33ml of concentrated HCl and transfer it to a 1 L volumetric flask, then dilute to volume (1 L) with water. ***For 100ml, you need 0.83ml
