I don't have a picture but I built a closet( for lack of a better word) in my pantry room. I built shelves tall enough for gallon size mylar bags from floor to ceiling then petitioned each shelf for width of mylar bags. It's approximately 3 ft deep by 40 inches wide, so each slot can hold alot of bags. I then labeled each petition for, beef, pork, chicken, veggies, meals in a bag etc etc. It has been working out great.

@@TheProvidentPrepper I've had this for about a year, so far so good. I do have some traps out in the room and I also keep little bags of mint and cloves under all my shelves. I don't know if that does it or my barn/outside cats that keep them away!!!

To organize my mylar bags I purchased large, clear totes that have a gasket in the lid making them airtight. They are around ten dollars each at Costco. Three of them fit on each shelf of the large chrome shelving units that I also purchased from Costco. Each one is labeled by food type. I have one for pasta, one for rice, dehydrated potatoes, beans, fruits, vegetables, ready to eat meals, sweets, spices, meats, etc. Each shelving unit accommodates about 15 totes. It's a bit of an investment but they are quite sturdy and well worth the purchase.

My totes are black so no one can see what is in them. I can write on Christmas and I hope they would be ignored. I’m going to add a inventory list behind the “labels”.

For my freeze dried bags, I bought the dog food storage bins with the spin tops, that are stackable. I number and basic label each bin (meals, fruit etc..) then I have a clip board with a sheet for each bin and write a list, with and in and out for each batch/item. They stack neatly in my cold storage and are easy to monitor ins and outs.

Barbara is very inspiring. I love her canning and her thoughtfulness on security. I am afraid of pressure cooking but I’ve found a free class on beginner canning locally given by the university extension and I’m really looking forward to attending and then canning. I also need to up my herbal medicine knowledge and am currently working on that with books from our local public library. Thank you for this video and thank you Barbara for sharing with us. Going to ponder my security now and how to improve it.

Thank you for this video. So great to hear of others situations and how they are solving their prepping issues and your recommendations. I learned a lot. It occurred to me that I need to make a list, or spreadsheet ;), of my preps and see where my holes are. As I was listening to your discussion of topics I mostly feel pretty good about where I am in my preps. However, the safety area I have nothing and I'm going to change that today. Thank you for sharing Barbara!

Labeling freeze-dried mylar bags…. After watching this, I realized that my 5 large bins filled with mylar bags was completely disorganized. So…i sorted the bags into categories: meat/premade entrees, fruits and vegetables, baking kits… On the end of each bin I made a list of all items…so as items are removed, they are crossed off the list. Thank you for the motivation!!
