Wonderful video! I too collect gardening, cooking and food prep books. I love your collection! Now I have a new list of books on my wish list! I have a lot of used and second hand books that I have purchased at library used book sales and auctions. I have several of the Foxfire series books, they are some of my favorites! I recently purchased ‘Wild Remedies How to forage healings foods and craft your own herbal medicine’ by Rosalee De La Forte & Emily Han. I am really enjoying it! ‘Carrots Love Tomatoes’ is also an all time favorite book of mine. I also have books on fiber crafts that teach basic hand spinning, felting, and fiber dying with plants. I taught life skill classes to school age children for many years and it always amazed me how readily they took to the basic skills needed to create fiber and yarn. I believe that books on basic hand sewing, knitting, weaving, darning, etc. are also very useful to have. I would love to see further videos highlighting your favorite books. It was very helpful to have the medical/1st aid information input from your guest. This was really a great video. Thank you!

Great ideas! I actually bought "Feasting On Food Storage" last year, and I love it! It's not just a recipe book, and it shows you how to collect preps in an organized way! The recipes are really good, too. I've used some of them. I have The Lost Book Of Herbal Remedies, and a couple of others covering that topic. I have a lot of articles saved on my phone that need to go on paper. I also purchased "Everything Worth Preserving" by Mellisa K. Norris. It covers all the ways you can preserve food, and is really comprehensive. I also purchased on pre-sale the book, "The Modern Pioneer" by Mary Shrader of Mary's Nest. She is fantastic, and her videos are like taking an intensive home ec class! The book has all that in it, and I expect it to be very helpful in years to come.

I store LDS beans, wheat, oats, rice, milk powder, sweeteners, one year supply. If Aldi's closes I am in big trouble. I garden at Aldis. Love my 15 acre, off grid, water access Nature Retreat in northern MN watching you on the Verizon internet gateway cube. Reception is amazing for being off grid. Love the education and books. Nothing beats practice. This is my 345th trip to my nature retreat. I am still learning so much. Lots of this stuff takes three years to really understand. Be prepared. Practice.

I have either 6-7 of those books that was mentioned. I have been steadily increasing my book collection over the years. Might add the series of FOXFIRE, container gardening, The 1 Second After series ( has what in theory people will do ), hunting-trapping books, possible home maintenance books, projects for self sufficiency, foraging books, Square Foot Gardening book, care of small animals/livestock, fermenting books

Everyone should have several shelves of SHTF books. Obvious choices are gardening, animal husbandry, medical first aid and herbal remedies for minor issues ( remember to plant a culnary and medical herb patch now) , home butchering, hunting and trapping skills, home maintainance, food preservation, sewing, bush skills etc. Many can be found in second hand shops economically.EMP, grid down and censorship proof.

A bunch of books that I found/find useful are the Collins Gems, they are pocket sized reference books on subjects like foraging, knot tying, the SAS Survival Guide, Mushrooms and many more. They are easy to use outdoors and not heavy or bulky so you will use them. You never hear Americans mention them and they are published in the US, it says so in the books.

I’d love to recommend a question for Joseph Bell on food safety. IS IT SAFE TO STORE FEED CORN FOR LONG TERM STORGE AND HUMAN CONSUMPTION?… a lot of preppers recommend this because of its affordability and claim that some food is even made with feed corn. SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED BOUT AFLATOXINS? - Can that problem be eliminated in triple cleaned corn that is Aflatoxin tested? Thanks, love the videos!

The body is more than food and clothes , only The Lord can truly save us if it is his will to do so. It is however good to prepare ahead of time very much like Joseph did when he foresaw the famine coming, when he was in Egypt and was in a position of power under Pharaoh ,to do so. We shouldn't just be lacksidaysickle and say God will take care of it, we should prepare for the worse and hope for the best. Even if our preps all disappear or are all destroyed The Lord will always be there. My number 1 book to rely on in good or bad times is The Holy Bible it is the only real source for the hope that I have in the promise of the coming Kingdom Of God, not to survive some post-apocalyptic Mad Max world, eating freeze-dried food out of a mylar bag, and fighting off marauders looking to take our resources.
