Swayze, I just want to say that I respect you as a KZreadr. You’ve kept the same set up for years just focusing on the content. You’ve left your personal life pretty private but still manage to include some personal struggles like this. With vlogs being so popular nowadays, it’s easy to fall victim to clickbait tactics, sloppy quick uploads, and inconsistent/attention-grabbing content. I really like the fact that you put so much effort into researching for your videos and also that you have a general outline for most. I appreciate that you’ve always had a sit down chit-chat style video without all the crazy editing. Thank you for being professional but still authentic. I don’t always agree with you on every topic but I definitely appreciate your honesty and realness. Watching your videos makes me feel like I’m just having a conversation with an old friend and yet it still keeps me informed. Keep up the good work!

Ally Kiyomi Goddard Well as someone who is vegan for mainly ethical reasons, I honestly don’t care if others eat vegan junk or follow 80/10/10 or whole food plant based or any other vegan diet. As long as it’s avoiding animal products, it’s a personal choice. Like I said in my original comment, I don’t always agree with her. I just like hearing different perspectives and I just wanted to show my appreciation for the fact that she does take time out of her day to make rational videos about veganism. She at least tries to provide some scientific research to support her claims. Also, I don’t just blindly follow her nutrition advice or anyone else’s for that matter. You can believe what you want. I’m not promoting her channel or recommending that everyone believe her opinions. I’m simply someone who enjoys watching her videos and if you’re someone who doesn’t, why are you even here?

@@_k3l5 well said. I dont care at all about raw food, or health fads. I care about animal rights. If someones not eating an animal product literally why do people think it's their business what someone should eat. raw & pseudoscience type vegans just look like they are flaunting their privilege sometimes.

You could try a thrift store for larger or maternity clothes and then donate them back after you don't need them anymore. I was tested for measles and rubella immunity before I tried to get pregnant. Measles was fine, but I had to get a booster for rubella.

for the pickiness with leftovers, you can try different ways to heat it back up. instead of using the microwave you can actually put it back in the pot and heat it on the stove with a bit more of the spices you used to enhance the flavor. it’s helped me. i guess it’s worth a shot

I was just like you-probably even more of a picky eater than you. I made it one of this year's New Year's resolution and all throughout this year I've added sooo many foods that I previously refused to eat. My mentality was "Listen, in this life sometimes you're going to be in positions where you can't be picky, so you'll just have to get over it! I don't care if you don't like it, you're gonna eat it!" 😂😂 And after eating it for a while, now I don't mind most of them and I've even grown to like quite a lot of them (there still are things I just can't bring myself to tolerate, like turnip and cumin bleah). You might want to try different methods of cooking that vegetable or whatever the food is, and you can try first "hiding" its taste in a meal and progressively increase the quantity as you get used to the taste. Also, another tip when veganizing food or trying out a new vegan dish is to not compare it to its non-vegan dish-just think of it as its own dish, not a lesser alternative. :)

I've always said to women being that I worked in children's and Women's Health. Who called themselves flat-chested, how would you like to have that in the middle of your forehead right between your eyes? It's just a different way of looking at your breasts if that was in the middle of your face you'd be really freaked out and think it was a lot bigger lol love yourself for who you are small breasts are sexy! I'm almost 60 and mine are right up where they belong. They went from an A when I was very thin and now at 110 lb I'm not sure cuz I don't wear a bra. But when I had 10 lb boys they were spilling out of the biggest top I could wear. No sag and no stretch marks all those greens I've been eating did a lot for my skin. You're not flat chested my dear you just grew up in an era of lots of women with fake boobs not that our host is here is. But the world on TV is. And I've got family that had their is before their sweet 16! Nothing like a child with a big Double D cup

Muslimah1987 I’m studying to be a dietician, so I don’t know how much this means to you, but we’re being taught that dietary cholesterol does not impact LDL and triglycerides (an often overlooked part of lipid profile) as much as a diet high in refined carbs. An inactive lifestyle contributes to this. For more information, check out this article :) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4814348/ Basically, fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts, as well as plant oils high in PUFA’s and MUFA’s = good Eggs, milk, and white meat = neutral (although obviously not from a cruelty standpoint) Red meat and sat fat= possibly bad/not preferable Trans fat and processed meats are definitely bad. I sincerely hope this helps!

@@lutheranninja1819 Thank you, it does help a decent bit. Can I ask which oils you think are the best when it comes to polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats? Also, do you think air fryers are good alternatives to deep frying, or are they still bad because of dehydrating the foods or whatever? I feel like since you're studying to be a dietitian you'd be a good person to ask. Thanks

Muslimah1987 I completely understand the parents cooking food thing; I’m happy I finally live on my own. As far as the changes, these are things that helped me. And again, I’m still studying, so I have a lot to learn :) I would suggest little changes that your parents would be comfortable with. And things you can do on your own. If you love chips, like me, eat some yummy nuts and seeds instead. (Gets your salt fix taken care of without the empty calories) Add nonstarchy vegetables to every or every other dinner, like carrots or broccoli. Add cooked spinach to pasta or wraps. I highly recommend Cronometer.com to monitor your nutrients. You never want to change your diet without monitoring your health :) Hope this helps!

No jeans either, just sweatpants and dresses mainly. I already tend to wear baggy clothes so I have been able to make it work. This last trimester has been rough for me. I didn't expect that not being able to take my usual allergy meds would ultimately leave to so much stomach upset that I'm struggling to keep food down, but at least I know eventually it'll get better in time. I haven’t had a sleep study and know I maybe should next but all really obvious culprits (except that I have MDD which really could be to blame, I guess) have been ruled out. Good luck with the end of this pregnancy! 💖

I have chronic insomnia, always have, and I take trazodone and it's amazeballs. I can take it in conjunction with my citalopram which is GREAT. You might try something like that after baby comes, since it's safe to take it every day.

I found out when I was pregnant with my 5th that I wasn't immune to measles as well! I had my vaccines and boosters. When they looked back all the way to my first pregnancy I didn't have immunity then either but had never told me. Sleep was illusive once I hit 32 to 34 weeks. I feel like I slept better and felt more rested with a newborn than I did while I was pregnant.

Get a fitbit! Or another fitness tracker with heart rate. I use it to track my sleep and it's really interesting. It tells me how long I spent in each sleep stage. That might help you figure out why you need to sleep so much. For me 7 to 8 hours of good quality sleep is perfect. But sometimes I sleep really bad and I used to have really bad insomnia years ago. Keeping a consistent schedule every day, including weekends, helped a lot.

claud First and foremost, before going to a doctor do your own research (I used the ncbi database - google: ncbi helicobacter pilory treatment). Come to the doctor with knowledge, prepared to ask questions and to respectfully reference the scientific articles. Not every doctor knows everything about the eradication treatments, so you must be your own advocate, but they do have more general knowledge. I had to do the second line treatment, because the first one didn’t work. My doctor didn’t take into account that I’ve taken one of the antibiotics before to treat my tonsils. Helicobacter becomes more and more resistant to antibiotics because the patients take antibiotics in small amounts for other things or don’t finish their treatments. So my advice would be to begin with the Quadruple therapy from the get go: bismuth, PPI, metronidazole and tetracycline (the two antibiotics may be different depending on the type of Helicobacter spread in you region, but ppi/rabeprazole and bismuth are very important). I would also advise 14 days instead of 10. Don’t take bismuth the same time as other drugs it will dampen their effectiveness (30 min before every meal). Don’t take any other drugs or supplements without your doctor’s agreement. I drew a table with drug names, days and meal times, drew a notch for every time I had to take a pill, and crossed them off every time I took them so I wouldn’t miss any. The failing rates depend on the accuracy of taking the medication. Even if you have an allergic reaction (I’m not talking about something severe, but like a rash), don’t stop taking the medication before consulting a doctor. If you’ll stop too soon, the Helicobacter will have a resistance to that type of antibiotics and you’ll have to start it all again, and your microbiota will suffer even more. During the treatment don’t eat sugars and easy carbohydrates, and milk products (calcium can mess with antibiotics). Broccoli is said to help with eradication. I was also prescribed the probiotic yeast saccharomyces boulardii - researches show it raises the percentage of successful eradications. Probiotic bacteria will be killed by the antibiotics but the yeast won’t. Your microbiota will suffer no matter what, but the saccharomyces boulardii have to lessen the probability of side effects (start taking the saccharomyces boulardii a couple of days before the antibiotics to be sure that you don’t have an allergy, they’re not indispensable in the treatment, and you can do the treatment without them). Change your toothbrush in the middle of eradication (and wash it with antibacterial mouthwash), some researches say that oral hygiene has an impact. During the eradication you may feel anxious and panicky - this may be your body’s response on your good bacteria dying off (because of the gut-brain axis interactions), don’t worry it’ll pass. Your stomach may feel bad during and even after the treatment. It’s normal, it needs some time to heal even after the successful eradication (so don’t stop taking the ppi abruptly, decrease the dose slowly so you won’t have a rebound). After the eradication you have have to wait around a month after stopping the ppi to take a test to confirm it was successful. The blood test doesn’t work after you’ve been positive - it’ll give you a false positive, the breath or poop tests are the way to go. Don’t brush your teeth before the breath test, don’t eat or drink anything, don’t smoke. Another thing is if your family members/partner/roommates have the Helicobacter. They may not have the gastritis or any other health issues but be carriers. Scientists aren’t certain of the mechanisms of infection, but some researches show that there may be a possibility of reinfection (some don’t). After the second eradication I started using my own personal plates and utensils, just to be safe. If you have any questions, please ask, I’ll try to answer. All the best to you!
