Prana - your energy and you: Dr. Usha Peri and Ram Sankaranarayanan at TEDxUTD

NOTE FROM TED: While some viewers may find advice provided in this talk to be helpful, please do not look to this talk for medical advice. Claims made by the speaker around prana and energy are not corroborated by scientific evidence. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give organizers are described in more detail here: storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t...
We're always bombarded with stress and anxiety, hampering our energy levels. We need to make sure that we maintain our energy levels in a positive way. Nephrologist, Dr. Usha Peri, and Art of Living Instructor, Ram Sankaranarayanan will be explaining the concept of Prana (life force in Sanskrit) in this deeply engaging talk.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I enjoyed the video, it gave the insight on how we can be happy most of the time in our life by just increasing the Chi energy (subtle Life force energy). It is not the pseudoscience, it is a pure science of energy. The modern science just start to realize the how chi energy, mind-body-emotion connection can be used to cure many mind related illnesses.

Because the mouth is closed, the breath is going in and out through the nose. however, the constriction of the vocal chord helps manage the volume of air going in and out. The constriction also helps make that deep humming sound....not very different from sound of the waves in the ocean

Our single cell multiplied into 72trillion cells came from cosmic world and will go back to the cosmic world. So without any hesitation use word AUM loudly.

initially the lady's speech was not attractive... but as she progresses with her speech some of what she says resonates well with me. The principles of chinese acupuncture and qi gong also has parallels to what she says about prana. However the biggest block in the scientific world we have to SEE we have to do some experiment and find data and only then we will believe and understand energy chakras etc. Be it as it is, it is always good to breathe deep and slow.. We need to also involve in games, sports,, hiking etc..to get more benefits...
