    I’m Japanese and watching your channel for a while as I’m going to visit Prague soon. It’s nice to know that we have something in common. How you dip soy sauce and how you use chop sticks are so accurate.

    I believe a lot of Japanese love the classic Czech music (Smetana, Dvořák). I'm trying to guess how and when this affection has originated.

    Shortly after Nagano there was a story in czech TV about some Japanese guy, who wanted to play hockey. And wanted to learn it the best possible way, so he persuaded his parents to move the whole family to live in Prague! Here he played in some junior Prague team (Sparta?). But what were his next steps I don't know, does anybody?

    hahaha!!! this was a great vid. Im curious if there was a way to tell if Czech people accepted more Japanese things than other cultures.... does that make sense? Like if there was a way to determine which culture was the closest to Czechs? Probably slovaks given they were the same country until 20 years ago. ... You have a great sense of humor in all your vids, so maybe you could explain how Czech culture is different from Bavarian, Austrian, Slovak/Slavic, German, and... Polish? Im a stupid american so i don't already know these things, but your videos make me want to visit!!!

  • @Dqtube

    @Dqtube

    If you want to determine this, you have to divide the Czech Republic into regions, the mindset varies. Czechs are closer to Bavaria than to Slovakia. Rural Moravia is closer to Slovakia. Southern Moravia around Brno is close to Austria and Silesia has a lot in common with Poland.

    Czech culture is very similar to German (Austrian) culture thanks to our common history. Slovakia has a different history, but because they were part of Czechoslovakia for some time their culture is similar to Czech culture and also to Hungarian culture as they were part of Hungary.

    We Czechs know the term "April weather". In April the weather is extremely unstable and unreliable. You can experience all four seasons within few hours. So even if the day starts with nice warm sunshine and you can walk the streets in your T-shirt, be sure to have some jacket and umbrella with you. But over all I believe you will enjoy your visit.

    How is it possible that Czech sell their National Treasure Pilsner to a Japanese company!!! Just imagine if Ferrari is sold to Korea or Apple is own by China's Hawuai!! I can see the uproar!!

    Well, since they are a private owned company, we can't do anything about that, it's up to the owner and the potential buyer.. But of course there are restrictions, f.e. China was forced to deinvest, meaning to sell all its companies to the western ones, Russia is banned from owning anything and what remains, gets confiscated etc... (we have quite tense relations with China for years thanks to our close friendship with Taiwan).. But there is one state owned brewery called Budweiser Budvar - not to confuse with the american Budweiser, which is disgusting + the founder has actually stollen the brandname, there are judicial battles going on for more than 100 years.. The result to date is that the Czech Budweiser Budvar can be sold in the US using different name, namely Czechvar and the US Budweiser as Bud in the whole EU... But nobody will be buying the american copy in the EU, as it's really awfull...
