India is such a huge force in chess today. Amazing! Greetings from Romania to the Indian people. Namaste Bharat.
Humble + hardworking = pragg

+ in-game attitude that puts his opponents off.. the magnus tactics..sleeping midgame, coming late (the even magnus may not have done what he did to erigasi who was a peer)
pragg knows grunfeld theory now.

Pragg will do well...He is super solid and converts winning positions even again the best in the world
they are so friendly!
Damn.. hearing Vaishali’s voice for the first time. She has such a mesmerizing voice.

What a wonderful interview with these two young players. I wish them all the best! Meilleures salutations de Suisse!
2 days is just not enough to get over such a huge jet lag. Ive noticed players who come to TATA steel in India from US also struggle in the early rounds. From India to US, it should be about 10 days of recovery period. Hope it doesnt hurt the players.

I'm so happy to see they both look in high spirits before the most important tournaments of their career so far! I would love for each of them to shine the brightest in their respective fields.
Not expecting pragg to win it as it would be outrageous to expect 18-19 year old kid to win candidates in his first try. Just hoping he does well in tournament. All the best Praggu and Vaishali and to everyone in Indian contingent.

Deadly combo Svidler + Pragg, hope he wins.
Hope both should qualify for final, best of luck to both
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
The Boleslavsky Hole refers to playing e5 in the Sicilian. It can be implied in many Sicilian lines. For a detailed discussion on this structure refer Andy Soltis's book Pawn Structure Chess.
Is the time control different from last years candidates? If so what was it last year?

Wishing the best for Indian youngsters, however experience will play crucial role in such a titanic format. Not rooting for anyone in particular but I think One of Fabi, Hikaru and Nepo are clear favourites to join Ding. Best wishes for all players.
I love how pragg said not yet to World championship slip up by sagar....😂
Finally candidates wait is over...
I know people have low expectations from the Indians but with Gukesh having good success in playing for wins in one of the previous tournaments and with pragg being solid in the previous competitions..I am hopeful
Pragg and Svidler -- knowing they're working together brings a big smile to my face. I wonder if they talk much about cricket. (Update: Well at 2:55 we hear the answer is yes. Though Svidler needs some advice on how to hold a cricket bat.)
Pragg has the guidance of fantastic Svidler
2:20 Praggnanandhaa's expression and response when Sagar asks about having Svidler as a trainer/second is like: "Dude, you said it? On camera?? I can't believe you just said it. Gosh, now what am I supposed to say..."
So Prag doesn't know the Boleslavsky variation of Sicilian defense. Other candidates take note.
love these kids
Peter should be a good pick for a second. He knows the players that are the favorites to win quite well, and he's probably one of the most experienced seconds you could hire, and on top of it, he's one of the most friendliest and respected players. Just remember things don't always go to plan. Fabi and Hikaru are apparantly these massive favorites. They're, but not by these wide margins. In fact, I could see one of them losing a game early in the tournament. They have the most pressure on them, and there are times that pressure can get to them. I'm gonna call it. One of them will be two or three points back of the leader by the midway point.
Pragg's going to make it....
Let's get it champ ❤
Indians should share the top 3 positions. Vidit 1st, Pragg 2nd, Gukesh 3rd.
Grishchuk should have been approached for preparation. He is a beast still.

Svidler is a great chess player and a knowledgeable dude, not particularly known as a coach or a second though. We will see how the collaboration with Praggnanandhaa is gonna work out.

@andrewhughes7642

A second is a high level chess player/trainer who helps you analyse openings, look for new lines, study the playing patterns of opponents, etc, during major tournaments. The most important chess players tend to have a full team behind them at the major events.

9.5 in the quiz, imagine if they both win candidates with the same score 😂😂
If I had a sister who lived chess I would be challenging magnus for the title
Vaishali can win the tournament 🎉🎉😊
She will win
so heres my prediction 1. Caruana(no explanation needed) 2.Hikaru (good form and hes mentally in a very good place) 3. Pragg (he is very hard to beat and very mature for his age , so when most players are prone to catastrophic collapse pragg would secure vital draws and get 3rd) 4.Vidit (this is doubtful considering his bad form in the last tournament ..but i think vidit is very solid and mentally strong/ mature to not go on a downward spiral after a loss or 2) 5.Nepo ( hes completely shattered after the game against ding ,no confidence, no motivation , not seeing any brilliant games recently from him ,no good tournament recently and very bad form ) 6.firouzja(his fashion designing nonsesnse wont help here and he barely qualified , he did unethical ways to qualify, so god wont be happy upon him..is he even doing chess anymore?) 7.Gukesh (ah , he needs to calm down a bit and play solid sometimes and not push for win all the time ...he gets very nervous in crtical position which wont help him that much either..i fear he might loose an early game and go on a downward spiral and loose bunch trying to win all the rest of the games ..but im sure he would provide entertaining games ;) ) 8. Abasov ( alright , how did he qualify again ? would have loved Nodirbek or keymar or erigaisi instead, but it is what it is)
