in classical format, they mostly loose as they dont wish to go for a draw, except arjun. arjun rarely do that, and he did that against arvind in dubai open. he had a chance to draw. Pragg lost his game in dubai open, when he attempted to go for a win, even though he knew he may loose. he had the chance to go for a draw; he said it in the interview , exact position which he would have played if he wished a draw. after that game, pragg became more cautious. next couple of games, he drew, avoiding such risk taking options. so, its more to do with their wanting to win always, they learn from their losses.

In classical chess, nihal is very solid player. He is unbeaten in last 50+ matches.very solid ,but 60- 70% of these matches end up in draw.Which is why he stuck in the late 2600's. In general if he is playing in your team ,he will guarantee minimum a draw (half points) in all games. But a slow progress in his individual rating. I wish he will play more agreesive in classical, rather than playing for draw.Thats the difference between his classical and blitz rating.

though all of them are good., we will come to know probably, in couple of years, how consistent they are and where they would be standing. in classical format, they mostly lose as they dont wish to go for a draw, except arjun. arjun rarely do that, and he did that against arvind in dubai open. he had a chance to draw. It's a morning for India chess. What India has is over 75+ chess GMs, and almost 1.5 times that International masters, with more being minted every other day. It has a great, vibrant chess ecosystem. A country with a great ecosystem will prevail, and we're only now beginning to see that. That is also a big burden off the chest of Vishy, who almost singlehandedly carried India in the chess world and put it squarely on the chess map.

hopefully this will happen in China as well, where Ding Liren is also single handedly carrying the weight of chinese chess in the open section. I hope he inspires an incredible new generational wave of chinese gms racing to the top. And I hope Hou Yifan comes back from retirement, so we can continue to see more strong female GMs come from china.
